Mastermind themed build help

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I've been working on a build for my mastermind which I'm planning to follow a theme hopefully without rendering the character completely useless.

The theme is in nut shell they got super powers from a magic artefact which gave them super strength and invincibility along side magic.  They went out to try and fight crime but found they were on the weaker end of super powers so even the odds by having help.  So basically I'm trying to make a baby invincibility/SS tank who has lots of backup.

The power sets are thugs/FF and then most likely force mastery.  This is what I have so far (I haven't looked at enhancements yet) but I've got two power slots left over as I really I don't know what to take, any critique would be welcome.

Leadership  to tripple dip on Maneuvres and Tactics?

Medicine because you have no other heal?

Invisibility because Invisiblity and Force Field goes back to the days of the Fantastic Four?

Speed for Haste and Superspeed (which in turn gives you stealth+the right IO - see FF mention above) or Whirlwind because it's nuts.

In a way it's a shame you already picked  your Epic. because Leviathan's Knockout Blow is pretty strong and  with Cross Punch it can make pretty good melee character, for a Mastermind.

I don't mind using a different epic, my only issue is I'm on hero side so don't have access to the patron pools.  I'm vaguely aware there is a way to swap but it wasn't a thing when I played live so I have no idea how to do it.

Go to Pocket D, look for one of the parked trunks inside the club . On top there is a bird NPC, a gull called Null.  It allows you to change alignment just like that.

Or you could do that whole 10 Tips followed by a Morality  Mission.

Go to Null the Gull in Pocket D.. While there change to each alignment and get the quick badge..  I think it's full circle. But at the end change to villain.
Then go to Grandville. there is an NPC right outside he will have the icon on his head..

Read the Plaques and pick SCORPION !!!!  - He only has 4 missions to get the unlock..

Change your settings to lowest as possible to get it done quickly..

Have mission teleport and make sure you can do an auto complete to make it faster..

I usually auto complete the 3rd mission which is a kill all..

Then I teleport to the next mission which is in St Martial. The last mission you need to do is in the same zone not far from that one you just did.

The last mission you need to do is where you need to kill the Elite Boss - Defeat Dr. Quatrexin

EdLetter.png Editor's Note:

For those looking to just zip through - you only have to defeat the last Paragon Protector Elite and the surrounding mob and click the glowie for mission completion.

Briefing

I want to know more about what Crey is doing with the schematics to my power armor! They just crossed a line that NO ONE comes back from! Head to the main Crey robotics facility in Paragon City and find out what they are doing with my power armor schematics!

There's a boat waiting to take you to Paragon City. I want to crush the head of whoever is behind this!

Mission Objective(s)

Time to find what Crey is doing with Black Scorpion's power armor schematics!

  • Find info on power armor
    • Find research data
    • Interrogate Crey

For this mission kill any Boss type mob you see as you look for the glowie. .  It's usually a Malta Gunslinger.

Once you kill Quatrexin you will get the notification that you can respec..

You will now be able to use the Epics..
