Wavicle Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 This has happened several times in HC and I don't remember it ever happening back in the day. I'll be in a mission and a new group of mobs will spawn right in front of me. Anyone else seeing this? Wavicle's Guide To What Really Matters: What Needs To Be Done On Every Toon
Shenanigunner Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Not as such, but I've had a number of missions lately, usually in huge, complex office maps, where the boss and the objective spawn right inside the door. Mission over in the first battle, and there are sometimes four elevator levels full of XP left. It's a wild shot, but you might have the visual range set very low, such as zero, which might obscure some elements that are very close to you. Type /visscale; it should return 1. For better visibility across the map, use /visscale 5. (This comes and goes as a persistent setting; you might bind that to a key so you can whack it at the start of every session.) Wavicle Posted September 7, 2021 Author Posted September 7, 2021 No, my settings are all at max. And what's even weirder is that this has happened when playing with my friend and he has seen it too, multiple times. So it's not just a visual thing, they really are spawning right on top of us. Luminara Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 Yes. During the Freakshow War arc, the mission which requires the player to locate and defeat the four team captains. It's also occurred for me at least a couple of times when on other missions which use that map. Running around, looking for objectives, critters will appear right as I enter their spawn point, or just as often, after I've passed the spawn point. It's only happened on that map, though. Never in open zones, never in office maps, never in tech lab maps, et cetera. I keep netgraph active at all times, as well, and there's never any lag spiking or high ping time when the oddity occurs. You're not crazy. Something's fucky. Get busy living... or get busy dying. That's goddamn right.
