Guys Im back to CoX. And I Finally remembered my Ice/stone tanker build. But its been so long now I don't remember how good an ice tanker was since I stopped playing it after rogue, when I built a Bane spider and never looked back. But I was successful in rebuilding him. But I could use some input. Are they still viable in group pve-pvp? Are they compared to a Fire tanker anymore? Should I take Hoarfrost vs the other beginner skill? Or frankly does it just not matter? I know this is all about building your own. But was curious about some opinions before I hit the click button on finish custom designing. Anything to help this old veteran gamer TY

One of my favorites back in the day was an Ice/EM Tanker (re-rolled as a brute now). Still pretty viable in PVE (can't speak for PVP). Wouldn't skip the toggle armors, nor hoarfrost (grab by 20ish). Wet Ice is good for a Steadfast defense (nice for the slow and -def resist too), but can be saved for later. For Taunt auras; Chilling Embrace is a must, Icicles is optional. Energy Absorption is great for taking you to Soft Cap without needing OIs. And Hibernate is optional; advised for maybe non-IO builds when the fudge hits the whirly, but a strong IO build could easily skip it.

Just my 2 cents.

I don't love Ice the way I do some other sets... I'd say the only Defense sets I like on tanker are Shield and Invuln, in that order.  But it gets a lot of great tools at higher levels and its defense holes can be filled with set bonuses.  Grabbing the two +3% defense IOs as early as possible will make life a lot easier.

Here's a basic recommendation for your first twenty levels.

No-Set Builds: Tanker Scrapper Brute Stalker

In my ever exhausting attempt to find that tanker that clicks with me, I have made a build for ice/stone after testing a shield/stone tanker on Justin. I have not tested this one yet, but it looks promising. I decided to go without Icicles in favor of super jump.

I will probably test it in the next day or two.

I take the Armors first, don't get to Hoarfrost until later.  Optional powers in the Ice Primary are Icicles (relatively slow ticking, not a lot of damage, but good for additional taunt, I've always wound up with it) and Hibernate (abandons your teammates while you recover, would not recommend unless your secondary is Rad).

As much as I love Ice Armor, I'm pretty sure it's in the lower tiers of the Tanker primaries.
