Don't know if this has been suggested/discussed already so please forgive me if it has.

I have been leveling some praetorian toons recently, even did one where I went through as many arcs as possible before I had to leave, and I couldn't help but notice that there could be a few powersets added to the game using the Resistance and PPD enemy groups as a base.  The visual and sound effects I found to be very cool and interesting and was wondering if it would be possible to create new powersets with them.  For example the cool little shield that lights up on the Praetorian police when you hit them/get hit by them, and the unique projectiles of the Resistance rifles and pistols.

Now I am now developer/game designer, and I fully understand if its just not possible at this time due to limits of the abilities or the inability to move them to player use.  If that is the case then could some perhaps be bought as temp powers from the P2W vendor?

That's what this thread is for 🙂

oh, I've been summoned.

as @Menelruin pointed out, the EFPR thread is dedicated to creating new powersets from existing materials, and the unique powers we see used by Praetorian enemy groups served as a big inspiration for many of the powersets in the thread.

I found that the Clockwork, PPD and Awakened had a wealth of unique powers that could formulate new powersets entirely on their own, while the Resistance, Carnival of Light and IDF had material that could support other powersets when combined with other elements.

I'll give a brief summary of the powersets here, but feel free to explore the thread for the specifics if you're interested!

Force Blast, Assault & Manipulation: These powersets were based primarily on the PPD, with supporting elements from Force Field and Energy Aura. The main focus here was taking the unique arm-weaponry from across different PPD units and pooling them together, which remarkably matched the formula of most Blast and Assault Powersets, while the Manipulation powerset borrowed other existing assets to compound it.

Pain Blast, Control, Assault and Manipulation: These powersets borrowed a lot of the unique powers and visuals of the Awakened in First Ward. As we already had Psionic powersets, I chose to base the theme of these new sets around Pain Domination, Psionic Melee and Illusion Control. There was a wealth of powers, enough to create Blast and Control powersets effortlessly, while Psionic Melee provided enough to fill in the gaps for the Assault and Manipulation powersets.

Particle Blast, Plasma Blast and Laser Blast: These three Blast powersets were created primarily from the Clockwork, with some elements from Warworks robots tied in. Particle Blast makes use of the 'particle' suite of powers, as well as borrowing some more modernized FX from Electricity Control, creating a set of crackling particle bolts. Plasma Blast on the other hand uses the more familiar Clockwork attacks, paired with additional powers from their Warworks cousins to create a consistent theme of burning plasma blasts. Laser Blast made use of the unique welding ray and chest-lasers from the heavy clockwork units, as well as the single-shot laser attacks from MM Robots.

Marksman Rifle, Heavy Weapons and Ray Guns: Three new ranged weapon powersets based primarily on the weapons of the Resistance. Marksman Rifle borrows many of the unique machine gun attacks, paired with the unique attack FX of PPD Ghosts and Merc Spec Ops. Heavy Weapons utilises the Heavy Barrel powers, as well as several chaingun and turret attacks to flesh it out. Ray Guns makes use of the Reistance laser pistols, as well as the rapid-fire laser attacks from MM Robots.

Other Powersets: In addition to those above, other powers from Praetorian enemy groups were used to support the creation of other powersets. IDF Troopers and their missile packs inspired Artillery Blast, and paired nicely with PPD Shell powers and animations. The Carnival of Light helped create 'Power Weapon', which used unique weapon animations from various Carnival 'staff' attacks and Arachnos Mace powers. The Animus Arcana also served as the main inspiration for the 'Elementals' Mastermind set, which creates similar elemental sprites to those we see in Night Ward.

That would be enough for me, personally. Energy blast with praetorian clockwork or praetorian police particle effects in the energy would satisfy me greatly 🙂
