Bots/FF - best place for Overwhelming Force Proc?

As the title says, where would be the best place to slot this proc? I'm thinking assault bot, but willing to hear any advice from those in the know. Thank you!

I would go with Assault Bot or Battle Drones.

 

Assault Bot to add a chance to KD to all it's attacks and to change Plasma Blast/Dual Plasma Blast from KB to KD.

 

Battle Drones are squishier. OF will provide them a bit of mitgation by KDing it's enemies. Also 3 bots vs 1 bot would give OF more chances to proc. Though one of four powers (Heavy Laser Burst) can KD already.

 

I would avoid Protector Bots. They have 6 powers, 2 of which are not attacks (Force Shield/Repair). Not sure if OF would work on Seeker Drones.

 

Or slot OF in the pet that needs an uptick in it's damage stat. Like if Assault Bot is in the red with +98% damage, while Drones are in the green with +82%. Slot it in Battle Drones.

overwhelming force you can only use one of and it does more than just change kb to kd, it gives all attacks a chance to knock down. 20%. use it in the pet with the most attacks. i dont know offhand how many attacks the little bots get. if one has 5 attacks, then they have 15 total chances to proc that bad boy.

 

there is another io in sudden acceleration that changes kb to kd and that is not unique, so you can place in both assault bot and protector bot.

I think I'm at a loss for a slot for Sudden Acceleration. After slotting 3 IOs for DEF/Res for pets, there's not a lot of room for others. Until then, I might be just able to slot and use the Overwhelming Force...

peep the slotting in this build. the build up chance in assault bot you can live without since it went from a 50% chance to 3ppm, which mean if you are lucky it will go off every 20 seconds or so, and might not always get you those three from my observations using it on a few mm's now. put sudden acceleration there.

I put Overwhelming Force in my assault bot, and never looked back. It doesn't just have a chance to proc "for every attack", it has a chance to proc for every TARGET hit by an AOE attack, and at level 32 the assault bot gets massive AOE missile attacks and isn't stingy with them.

 

Once the Assault Bot gets those glorious missile launchers, the drones are more or less obsolete. I only still have them six-slotted to hold various special IOs that give pet-boosting effects in a radius. I'm seriously thinking of not even bothering to summon them anymore in remotely difficult content, because they're at a significant level shift disadvantage, get into trouble easily, and then the protector bots tend to waste heals on them before they die anyway.

Easiest way to fix that is to have a macro set up to specifically control the drones. The protector bots and assault bot are generally safe enough to just let do their own thing (or part of the "turn that enemy into a grease stain" overall command), but the drones do tend to be a bit more cavalier about rushing around. I usually have a key or two dedicated to shepherding them. Leave the prots and assault in bodyguard mode, and specifically target the drones on enemies, or tell them to park their butts next to me and then resume firing. If you have a set that isn't seriously busy (such as /FF), you should have the spare moments to give the drones a kick in the butt to keep them busy and increase your damage output.
