I have never been good at assigning slots, so I was just curious if someone might take a look at my power selections and show me how you would slot them for a decent team player who's also able to go off and do their own thing without ending up in the hospital when things get a little hairy.

 

As a point of note, I know I'm skipping a few powers in the secondary set, but I'm wanting to keep this a ranged build, at least as much as possible. That being said, I'm willing to accept a swap for one of either Ice Sword Circle or Ice Slash if there's a good slot bonus or important "chance for" that would make sense or the difference between permadom or not (which is not my goal, just happenstance if slotting works in that favor).

You said want to play it ranged, but you took both arctic air and chilling embrace. For the playstyle you want how do you see yourself using them? Are they actually important for the build you want?

Hey and thanks for responding! Even when ranged I know I'm going to be encountering mobs up close from time to time, especially when soloing. I'm open to swapping those for the other two attacks, but the Arctic Air plus a confuse proc helps divert some of that up-close damage I'm wanting to avoid. As for Chilling Embrace, I wasn't married to the idea of it, but tend to lean more toggles DoTs with a few "chance for"s in the IO sets, plus I like it for the sustained -rech -speed. Again, definitely not married to it, just seemed a decent option at the time I was going through.

Ok here's a build. It should be perma-dom with hasten, has soft capped S/L defense, and pretty high R/E/N defense. I tried to keep the budget pretty low so there are no purples but if you want to go further, the decimation and malaise's confusion are pretty direct upgrades to purple for a bit more defense and recharge. I also got rid of Chilling Embrace just because it's pretty endurance heavy and not worth it imo if you're trying to stay out of the battle. I also kept Acrobatics (which you don't need as a perma-dom) and overshot how much accuracy you need at level 50 just so the lower level experience can be more enjoyable. But if you're not worried about that, you can change it and the kismet out.

 

If you want to mess with the build further, things I suggest/what I was looking for is keeping your global recharge (without Hasten) above 80%. That with a 2 slotted Hasten is enough to be comfortably perma-dom. You can also again take a slot out of Acrobatics and Combat Jump if you don't plan to spend much time going back to low-levels, and Super Jump if you don't care about moving fast.

 

Edit: I had powerboost active, I need to change some things for the defenses 🥴

skip it, its not worth it.  I used it in a build just before the damage was added as a plain slow; it got toggled off.  Damaged added, still toggled off.  There is a new buff where damage toggles won't suppress anymore, but you still need to be in melee range for it to work and the damage is kind of miniscule in comparison.  Almost any other power is better; except for Power Boost since it only adds 2 SO worth of slotting secondary effect for 10 seconds.  Really want to see buff powers like what fire or psychic assault have.

Thank you both for the input! I will try the second build provided by Arcadio and will play around with alternates to Chilling Embrace.

I don't know what i was thinking when i made this build, possibly trying to see just how fast i could drain the blue bar. Or find a way to keep Jack alive.
