Beam/Time/Soul

Has anyone played Beam on a Corr? I hear that the DOTs from Disintegrate can Scourge.  Spent some time in MIDS and wanted to just throw this up here as I haven't seen any recent builds.  Haven't played this. Idea was to find a low-clicky secondary (Time) to let you focus on the Beam Rifle chain from range, soft-capping yourself with PB'd Farsight.  I know the ideal chain is like Dis->otherST attacks, and there is -15% res in Piercing Beam apparently that I assume can stack with the -RES in Slowed Response.  But idk, never played Beam.  Seems a bit anemic.

Its a good looking build but it seems criminal to skip times juncture and underslot your best debuff slowed response like that. TJ lets you herd up mobs when fold space is down debuffs their -to hit and lowers the damage they do to you and the team which lets you get away with some silly slotting. Slowed Response, time crawl-time stop is your av/gm killer, not really an issue when your running beams - regen but i see you took time crawl anyway and slowed response with a couple procs in speeds up mobs kills massively. And it wants some acc+rech in for hard targets, if your throwing d-syncs at it why not 2 more in there.

Put the shield wall proc in weave with 2 more of the same set, same regen bonus more hp.

Fair points. Allow me to rebuff:

 

1) Don't plan to be in melee so Time's Juncture not a must-have.  Goal with this build is pew-pew from range.   

 

2) Didn't seem like adding 2 dmg procs do Slowed Response would really make a difference ... key was -RES proc and the -DEF is buffed (for AVs/hard targets) by Power Boost.  it goes to like -44.6% Def which on top of the -RES is what's need (stack -RES with the -15% RES from Piercing Beam).  Everything outside of AVs dies too fast anyway on teams.

Do you need acc in Slowed Response, I thought it was either auto hit or the Power boosted farsight provide enough acc. 

 

More recharge on shaves 3-4 seconds off recharge?

SlowedResp has acc check, but with PB'd Farsight and Kismet IO it's probably fine (esp. on teams with other buffs).

 

Stuffing two +5 Rechage IO's in it would bring the recharge down from 30 sec to maybe 22 sec, but I honestly don't know if it's worth it vs. losing those slots somewhere else - can't see from where to pull 'em and not sacrifice something.

 

EDIT: not really finding a way to add 2 + slots to SR without giving up 5-10% global recharge or letting AOE def <45%.  Will keep playing around with it.

Picking up Fold Space while skipping both Time Juncture and Distortion Field won't let you ever stay on Range, both TJ and DF help a lot as a soft control in this case. Slowed Response is fine as it is, at least for bosses and in an ideal fight, cause the recharge is pretty tight, I agree with the idea of using it as a proc bomb, you won't need that many slots and it has a pretty decent proc rate, taking TJ could indirectly fix the defenses for you because of the to hit debuff, but then you would have to test and see how your endurance recovery would fare, don't forget that Chrome Shift recovery buff only lasts 30 seconds.

We'll have to agree to disagree on TJ, it isn't just the - to hit bumping your def, its the - damage and.....its a perfect herding tool when you want to go over aggro cap. I do agree mobs die too fast on teams but if you solo +4/8 beam isn't the fastest mob killer and you'd have slowed response up pretty much for every mob.

 

If you toss the 6th apoc piece in disintegrate you'd be hitting softcap to psi too.

 

Does PB boost your accuracy? Or is PB boosted farsight+kismet providing enough for SR with 0 acc slotted? Probably but i still prefer to have a small amount in and if your worried about the aoe drop (i assume you'd pull slots from the zephyr sets) 4 shield breakers would make up for it, almost.
