I've recently been playing a Rad/SJ tank which has been amazing in defense but his damage and overall output in handling enemies has been pretty poor so im wondering if anyone has a Rad/BA build since BA has amazing enemy AOE.  Edit: If I posted this in the wrong area, I apologize I dont post on here at all and barely scroll through the forums.

Damage isn't really my focus usually, on a tank build, but if you like AoE, this has AoE.  If you don't mind being toHit debuffed, you can pick a different Patron pool and add more by ditching Focused Accuracy.   But I like FA and generally try to build to be more sturdy than a damage dealer.   I don't bother with defense.  Can't rely on it in all situations, so I don't.  100% slow resist and some nice proc bomb action in Rad Therapy and Ground Zero.

For damage, you probably want to reslot the attacks with more procs.  FF:Rech procs for more recharge will help close those attack chains a bit better.  But this can get you started.

I have a take to offer as well! But you might want some deep pockets for it

I am a crazy person that turns Tanks into blasters! This build is geared more towards becoming a herding god and then splatting mobs as quickly as you gathered them up!

Some of the frivolous spending can be cut by replacing the D-Syncs in Rad Therapy with boosted Healing IOs, the Acc/Dam Hami O's with similar set IOs, and the D Syncs in Fold Space with boosted Recharge IOs (it shouldn't miss, much, hopefully).

Mainly on Excelsior. Find me in game @Spaghetti Betty.

You're in good hands with SB and ZemX's builds. Although I love Battle Axe, I'm afraid I've been messing around with my BA builds. I will say learn how to use Axe Cyclone to position mobs (practice hitting the power and jump to "x" location, pulling mobs in, and moving them in general). Overall, Battle Axe is an amazing set set the Tank should be managing mobs while in melee. Axe Cyclone is an incredible power!

Nothing warms your opponent like Fiery Melee.

I hope @Spaghetti Betty doesn't mind, but I also took a stab at it. Using their excellent ideas as a starting point, I tweaked the build to my own liking. As always, there aren't enough slots to go around and everything is a trade off. Unfortunately, the build remains very expensive.

I personally dislike the RNG of Force Feedback so I stripped those out in favor of more global recharge. With a couple foes in range of Beta Decay, Hasten is almost perma. The purple sets also added the accuracy necessary to drop Vigor alpha and gain Musculature. Mids shows Fold Space at 92% acc vs a +4 foe with a basic Recharge IO. All other attacks are over 100%, so you should be fine especially when the -Def from Radiation powers hits.

Musculature Radial helps our debuffs and endmod in addition to moar damage. Each FF proc is now a damage proc as well, so overall DPS is higher. Resistance-wise you can see that we're nearly capped out on the same resists WITHOUT the +Res ATO proc active, so you can take alpha without worry (except Carnies, did my best for Psi but it's rough).

It does lose Taunt and Pendulum, so you have to rely on Rad Therapy and GZero for your AoE, along with positioning for Cleave. My build lost the +Absorb Tanker ATO so you might want to drop a damage proc in favor of that, but I feel like we get enough absorb from Particle Shielding already.

Physical Perfection isn't really necessary and could change into Taunt or maybe Meltdown for an ohcrap button.

Again, I couldn't have done this without Betty's amazing build to base mine off of. Let me know what you think?

Just out of curiosity what incarnates did you end up going with? And for the heck of it, I tested the build in a AE fire farm solo @54x8 last night. Surprisingly holds up very well. As long as I don't go too crazy and taunt a whole room haha

I usually tend to pick Vigor Core for my Tanks these days. Musculature will suffer from diminishing returns if you find there is a +DMG buffer on your team (especially a Kin) since all damage enhancement is cumulative. Vigor Core will keep your healing, accuracy, and end costs pretty friendly!

I was wondering about vigor, thanks for the input. I've used spiritual before on a elec melee/fire brute for recharge on my attacks..but always seem pushed to go musculature for other builds. I'm gonna try the vigor tonight, thanks!
