Panache Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Last night I found and locked down two names whose availability surprised me: Wolfdog and Highness. The former is obviously a crusty lycanthrope who lives in the woods (Savage Brute for sure, prolly WP or Invuln), but I have no idea what to do with the latter. Mind Dom came to mind first, for making baddies bend the knee so to speak, but I'm not 100% sold on that. Anybody have any impulse ideas conjured up by that alias?
Magairlín Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 I'm imagining a mostly-noble flying-brick type with a bit of a tendency to look down on normal humans.
Panache Posted August 25, 2023 Author Posted August 25, 2023 My first thought was to lean into a double meaning of the name and do a Psi/Nrg Blaster who fought from 200' lol. Now I'm thinking of pairing Shield with Psi Melee; I haven't tried the latter set at all.
biostem Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 (edited) 5 hours ago, Panache said: Highness Well, a lot depends upon whether you're going to use the name seriously or ironically, and whether said character will have more of a benevolent or malevolent leaning. Serious & Good: An empathy/storm defender could have a rather regal and benevolent air to it, whilst also portraying a sense of poise & power. Serious & Evil: A necro/dark or necro/pain mastermind would definitely get the idea across of being a cruel and slave-driving ruler. Comedic & Good: A grav/kin controller could definitely "motivate" both allies and enemies, with humorous results! Comedic & Evil: A mind/savage dominator would definitely "get things done", probably with a lot of whining and carrying on along the way, (also, calling birds to attack your enemies is a funny spin on the classic Disney princess motif of having cute animal friends)... Related to the "Comedic & Evil" listing above, a beast/empathy or beast/nature mastermind could take the "animal friend" theme and give it a positive, (albeit violet), bent... Panache Posted August 28, 2023 Author Posted August 28, 2023 Wolfdog ended up getting way more attention (1-50 in 3 days and first real foray into Savage; that set is fun as heck!), but I played around with Psi Melee a bit, and the animations seem very in line with an imperious snob of a hero.
Ghost Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 Highness - I would go with a scrapper myself. Savage/WP or dual blades/WP Id make her look sweet and innocent out of combat, and a complete homicidal maniac when in.
