Storm Blast/Kin build?

at lvl21, I find the damage on this build lacking, although the only damage boost power I have so far is Siphon Power.

Here's an attempt at a build, I haven't tried it yet. I'm going for defense first, then accuracy bonus (do they affect Storm Cell?), then damage boost.

I don't know if I need all the recharge in the build yet. I have 4 LoTGs, Hastem and Siphon Speed, without a specific power to perma, but with transference getting "unlimited" endurance it should be good to have most attacks recharging fast I think, but if there is better slotting I'm likely willing to give up some speed.

Ignore what level slots were added, I haven't optimized for that yet. Repel is more for fun than anything else, I could swap if for Vengeance or Burnout if I need the slot for example.

I'm of two minds on the repel effect of Jet Stream. Solo it's nice crowd control but in teams it too often pushes does a away from the tank. This is why is slotted a KB-to-KB enhancement even though the power already does Knockback and not Knockdown. According to the wiki it suppresses the Repel:

While repel effects usually do not interact with KB-to-KD enhancements (eg. 1, 2), Jet Stream's repel is disabled if one is slotted. Note that this does not convert it to a knockdown.

The ability will still have a knockdown effect on enemies within a Storm Cell, regardless of the enhancement being slotted or not.

I'm using a slightly older version of mids, so can't see your build unless it's an attachment.

For Kin, you might need some accuracy in Transfusion. I'd personally cut the extra off like Repel, if only to fill the last LotG. Cat5 is up more often for Corruptor's at the very least.

I'm solo leveling a Storm Sent right now. Jet Stream is kind of underwhelming, I've even seen it repel rooted mobs. I strictly only use it after I Storm Cell first. It does seem to proc SC lightning.

But, I'm going to bring up that Cat5 has a +500 avoid effect similar to Rain of Fire etc. For my Sent I plan on dropping Jet, and taking and proccing an Epic high dmg aoe immob. As a Corruptor you could probably Web Envelope, or School of Shark's is proccable. Otherwise I'd imagine you may want to be spamming Jet for the kd to keep them put.

As to the accuracy of SC, I'm not 100% but CoD shows some kind of accuracy mod on the lightning procs. Not sure if global accuracy will help there, Storm is so finicky to figure out. SC and Cat5 don't seem to be very proccable from what I've read, so I just tossed in full high rech/dmg sets which happen to have acc.

For dmg, just some general advice. On engage immediately drop SC/Cat5, hit Intensify, then Jet and/or Chain. Fire as many Storm powers as possible. Be in melee for Fulcrum. Once you get Fulcrum you should be fine. I'm not sure how often you'll be near dmg cap, both Siphon Power and Assault might be overkill? I'd limit using Kin powers in battle as much as is reasonable while still giving the benefits.

I concur given the avoid in category 5, having an AoE immobilize would be useful, especially when the mobs are clumps for you to fire FS on. That said FS I think needs more recharge as well, because you can stack the buffs of FS, this will help you maintain damage cap easier. Also I would build defenses aiming for melee first then ranged since kinetics is designed to be played in melee range.

Siphon speed doesn't do damage, you want acc and recharge in there. So I'd swap out the acc/damage/end for something else.

I don't know the Storm side of things, but I would swap out Assault and Repel for things like ID and Vengeance. Those give you a free slot for a LotG and one of the +3% Def IOs.

I found it very difficult to build this for melee defense and therefore went after high S/L def. You get good numbers on ranged easily as well, although I agree that you need to be close to action with Kin. Just haven't found a way to bunker up really. Any thoughts?

That incident involving a nuclear accelerator and a banana… You know… I REALLY don't wanna talk about it!

I'll aim to boot up mids (perhaps tonight or tomorrow morning while my toddler is still asleep) and see what I can come up with.

Tested the set a bit on the test server, Like the performance inside cat5/storm cell but it was so annoying to chase runners when you big dmg powers drop of. Can keep up with a fire/time corruptor but performace worse like a scrapper or dominator. Mission took 4-5min longer.

Tried a few points like going with the Spectral interfacefor immobilze adding Web Envelope and adding another proc. Another build was adding Folded Space to summon them back into the cat 5 if the get out of it.

Mids export is broken for me, so only a screenshot. Jet Stream is Web Envelope (can now slot aoe range dmg sets). More or less a kin tank build like it was posted before a couple times.

From a purely visual point of view it's awesome, now the performace is better but still has some issues. Procs on the chain attack is wasted and the animation on Couldburst takes a long time before it does it dot dmg, so easy to overkill a mob.

Interesting... lots of useful aspects for tweaking a build.

I will definitely go into Spectral for the immob. I can't remember if I have ever taken it before, but here it sounds like a good time to finally apply it.

I ran on an all-storm-powersets theme team on Indom on saturday, and it was hilarious! It really felt like we were storm-sweeping the mobs through the halls 😄
