Updated Fire/kin/Flame KDrepel, 195% recharge (before FF proc), soft fire def, 75% fire res

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Made only to live in fire farms. I wouldn't go near s/l or any other dmg type unless you have a /time friend with you.

edit: I updated this. This makes money more efficiently than another brute if you are farming with another brute (compared to a two /fire brute team). The FF proc in repel works around 50-70% of the time that you are surrounded by mobs. You are going to need the T4 ageless though....this thing likes to eat endurance like nothing else I've ever used. Even without FF proc Hasten is perma with 1 siphon speeds.

Edit 2: I have reposted this using hero designer 2.23

Edit 3: I have made some significant changes to this that I feel are better. You get a better heal and more recharge while maintaining very good AOE defense.

Edit 4: I made some other changes. An sgmate asked me to post the newest iteration.

Edit 5: I updated this again and its beautiful. 195% global recharge while keeping capped fire resistance and softcapped fire defense, but this will go up to 215% with two siphon speeds. The slotting of everything is also much better in my opinion, fireball will knockdown and apply a -res sometimes (it has a lot of recharge so it lowers the proc chance), rain of fire will immobilize sometimes and inferno will apply a 20% -res proc (I think its 90% of the time, but I'm not sure). You will be at the recharge cap with one force feedback proc in repel or for the first 30 seconds of ageless (with 2 siphon speeds for the ageless to hit you to cap). This is the 9th iteration of this build according to my save files, so I have spent considerable time on perfecting it and I am now vet lvl 120 on this toon (Darkir on Torchbearer. My SG friends and I have found that it is faster to farm the carnival, cave, or family map with this and one brute than it is to farm them with two brutes. It's super fun to play. Go kill shit.

Most updated build will be posted in the original post to avoid confusion.

I should also note that you can put your brute friend on follow with fulcrum shift on auto and just afk...and you know...answer forum posts and make builds for people, which I may be doing right now. You won't die and the farm will be faster due to the fulcrum shifts.

Posted

so why bother with the expensive sets to just farm? if you have nothing else to spend it on, i guess.

Well when I farm with my brute friend with this it is faster to use this than it is to use my own fire farming brute, so as long as you have a partner you make money faster compared to a two brute team and especially compared to a solo brute or solo fire/kin.

edit: but yes, originally it was because I could and I had the influence. Its a happy coincidence that it is also more efficient money wise when you partner up and the more brutes the better, but you could also get a debuffer that would increase it more like a /poison or a /cold. Still, you end up making somewhere in the 40-60 mil influence/hr vicinity which is nice (with no xp/double influence of course).

any chance you could make a budget version ?

Ok, so here is the budget version I've come up with. You are still softcapped to fire, but your resist to fire is around 23% lower. I would recommend letting the brute go in first and going in right behind him. With the expensive version you can go fully into a mob with bosses and an EB and not worry too much, but I don't think you will be able to do that with this. I have avoided purples with the exception of a superior avalanche in inferno, this is necessary to get you softcapped fire defense. If you cannot afford it, I suggest you borrow 150 mil from your brute friend as it will make a huge difference in your survival and the teams effective farming speed. You still have instasnipe and perma hasten (after one siphon speed), although tough is slotted there is no reason to use it in a fire farm. I have also included repel with the ff proc and the kb to kd IO. I'm a huge fan of setting up repel this way, the recharge and mitigation it provides is fantastic. I'd take the ageless destiny to forgo any endurance issues while running repel so you can focus on dps and not use transference a bunch.

oh yeah i got the 1st link just fine with the new version of mids

thank you

Just updated for the last time, I needed to put acc into siphon speed and fulcrum shift as I had not changed the base tohit to 48 yet.

Scratch that. Updated it again so that I can have reduced recharge +5 lvl 50 ios in fulcrum shift and still be at acc cap to +3s. Slotting in boxing is odd, but it gives you fire res, acc, and recharge so thats why its there. You also, get back siphon power which is pretty fantastic. Still have permasnipes and aim is unnecessary in my opinion.

I updated this again and its beautiful. 195% global recharge while keeping capped fire resistance and softcapped fire defense.

Most updated build will be posted in the original post to avoid confusion.

great build. the -Res Proc & Repel are nice touches.

i had one for duo like this before Corrs got Fire Shield, but reworked it for the last 17% Res... softcap Def & hardcap Res now. it's down about 25pts Rech from yours, but i'm able to run Musculature or Spiritual instead of Agility with the extra Stealth toggle. ToHit is similar, as is Dmg Proc use. i was able to find about 125HP extra. have you tried Degen as well as Reactive?...i find the -HP helps a lot with the slowest targets (Bosses & EBs), while Minions/LTs melt regardless.

curious if you've timed a few solid runs to avg out some hard figures between Brute+Brute vs Brute+Corr... i have my suspicions after many farms with some of the fastest (timed) guys, & have advocated for the Brute+Corr duo. but it's not somethin these guys i really respect are convinced of, & we have never timed ourselves to prove one way or the other. i'm interested in putting this up for science, kinda akin to Pylon test times. i do however believe a single Brute on the map solo (not PL'g) is the fastest $/min earner, & have doubts adding a Corr is enough to offset the loss of $/kill split between 2 chars.

Two brutes will beat a brute+corr on the asteroid map. A corr+brute will beat two brutes on the cave map or the outdoor family map. In terms of reactive versus degen both work just as effectively on bosses with the reactive winning out by a smidgen, but thats probably within a margin of error. Degen works better on maps with EBs, but so does the corr+brute duo because a lot of farming brutes don't have a good ST attack chain. Musculature is useless on a kinetics user for everything except AVs when you do not have multiple targets to fulcrum off of. Musculature will not make you do more damage, as your damage is always capped after the second fulcrum shift (so about 17 seconds after I start a map). Spiritual works great if you find you can get faster recharging powers with a build using it over agility. I frequently hit the recharge cap of 400% with my build when using siphon speed, ageless, and FF procs, but thats way more than I need. The actual recharge cap for the powers in this build is 280% for most of them due to the 120% recharge they get from enhancements and the agility alpha and I hit that in the first few seconds of ageless or every time ff procs for 5 seconds.

I actually have more accuracy than I need given I fight +3s due to the alpha and could find a better place for the kismet tohit io. I don't though, because I keep misssing when I use blazing bolt more than my other powers, so I just leave it in there....honestly dont know if snipes get an -acc or something or its just bais cause its so apparent.

Extra HP does nothing unless you are being 1-3 shot by mobs and have no time to heal or you have so much that you can run a whole map without healing at all, this is different in pvp, but otherwise all that matters is mitigation, so defense, resistance, heals, knockdown/controls/etc. and killing things. If heals were based on percentages or we relied on regen this would be a different story, but even if you were to get 15 hp/sec regen it wouldn't be enough to not heal yourself almost the same amount of time I do now with 11 hp/s.

It is impossible for me to know if you are setup in mids correctly to make sure that stealth is only adding in combat defense and not the double out of combat bonus because you have hidden your build and not posted it (odd choice btw considering your post is about trying to get the fastest times and I've openly shared mine, maybe collaboration would make both builds better?). I also can't tell if you are using greater fire sword as a slot mule or in your attack chain, I hope the former as it has terrible dps and dpa. Flares also has more dps than fire blast, but this is not a lot of people's preference, but if we are talking pure min/max dps then flares is better.

My fastest cave time with another brute on comic con cave map is 26:36, please note that this is the one in the hall of fame and it has no EBs.

I would not even try to duo the asteroid map against two brutes, I know they will win. The map is short enough they can just keep popping reds to keep themselves at or near the dmg cap, negating the advantage of having a fire/kin corruptor. They have to load much more though and buy the reds. In the end I am not sure which one is the absolute fastest farming duo. I can confidently say that 3 brutes and 1 corr will easily beat 4 brutes at farming money on exemplared maps, but this is really making sure the corr has the advantage., the more team members there are, the more value the corruptor has. It is only the longer maps and maps with EBs where I can beat a brute duo with another brute.

i look at HP similar to higher Res, as you take hits for a smaller % of your total. it's not much here, esp after adding Acco to both builds, and only noted to show where our builds differ.

GFS & F.Blast are mules. could tell you knew Stealth was providing half standard (or you had adjusted your database) just because you had Agility. 🙂

good points about map type. i forget peeps run so many different ones, which would slant the benefits/drawbacks.

i've decided not to post my builds anymore, & only share em with close friends (whom i know are brilliant & knowledgeable of CoH) to get fresh eyes that'll catch things i may have overlooked. it's not that i don't want to help peeps, or improve. for a long time, i reworked builds... or ported my similar one to their preferred sets/AT... or just posted mine for them to copy entirely... & i saw others do the same to "help" peeps. overwhelmingly, the result has been that peeps didn't learn anything about the game mechanics & build choices, & didn't show any appreciation or give credit to those who "helped" em. they'd post, get builds handed to them, & never reply back to the thread with anything they came-up with or learned, or even say "thanks". i've seen my builds (quite obviously) being passed off as their own to others.
...posting a ss of my build seems the middle-ground to show i'm being honest (w/o inflating stats via temp clicks / incarn / acco / mob buffs / etc), & not claiming wild "capped Res to all!", while failing to mention Rune + Melee Core. lol
