Skipping Power Surge on my SS/Elec

I’m getting back into the swing of things on this server. Just got my first toon on this server to 38 and I actually skipped power surge. I used to have a fully purple IO’d out ss/elec beast on live. Looking back I feel like I never used power surge because my survivability was already great.

 

If there wasn’t the crash I would probably get it. Come to think of it another part of me wants to remember having perma powersurge but I just can’t remember. Is this possible? Anyone else skipping?

With a base 1000s recharge and 180s duration, perma isnt pissible.

 

I do not recall the crash being that bad, but last time I had it was on DM/Elec, so he had ways of coping.

It is pretty unnecessary as you can run capped S/L/E/F/C resists all the time without Power Surge. For sporadic need of NE/Toxic/Psi resistance you can just use Eye of the Magus and if you consistently need those then insps and teammates are a better source than Power Surge anyway.

I, too, had a purpled out SS/Elec on live. Oh, the fun we had...

 

But yeah, I skipped Power Surge as well. More room for Pyre Mastery. :D

I feel like with blaster nukes having their crashes removed, and all the new armor sets t9's being crashless, it's time to revisit the purpose of the crashes, and remove them from old sets.
