PSA: if you move a character to another server for the XP boost, make sure to placehold your name

Cause you run the risk of losing it on the original server you transfer from. I've already lost one and I'm F***ING PISSED.

I moved a few, but figured they wouldn't be going back.   I did  start some new characters on different servers, but doubtful I hit yours since they were sorta niche.

Since you can get the boost with P2W Vitamins™, jumping servers isn't really worth the hassle;. Doing it with the intent of jumping back... nah.

 

I applaud the Devs for trying to level out the population. If I were a more active player, I'd move some of my alts around just to be able to build some variant bases. But the "rewards" are just a token nudge, not a real reason to switch. Kinda like how the other lane in traffic moves faster... until you get into it. 🙂

Making the jump is a good thing and the bribe is a good way to do it. Trying to go "mine" XP... maybe not so much.

Nah, that's the only reason I'm doing it - and I have been making placeholder characters to keep names for the ones I'm particularly invested in. Moving everything back to Excelsior as soon as the extra XP on the other servers goes away.

I've mostly moved permanently to a new shard and I'm having a great time. Population is good but no queuing, friendly folks (more so than on the main two) and I feel like I'm making good progress and got some new globals.

 

For me this has worked well and I've considered moving more characters to Indom, but that would mean relinquishing my SGs and bases and I'm crap at base building so I don't want to have to redo all of that...

 

It's also no real hardship to let my 50s languish on other shards... that gives me some characters to play should I feel the urge in future.
