SS/Elec Armor

Hello everyone! Returning player from live here. I was wondering if anyone would take a crack at trying a build for a SS/Elec brute. I am crap at making builds and I haven't seen anything for this combo before (I imagine because the powers might not have any synergy?)

I think it could be fine in that you would build towards stacking resistance, and recharge for energize, rage, footstomp. Slow resistance would likely be useful as well.

 

Alternatively I do like SS and Dark Armor to stack hand clap and oppressive gloom stuns. It plays similarly to SS/Elec.

 

Realistically there's not much that isn't a good pairing with SS. One of my fav SS pairings is with Radiation Armor.

 

I'd suggest searching the Brute/Tanker pages for builds with your preference since there's likely either a complete one or a framework to get you started.

heres a build-- i had i main objective building it --get 90% resists on most before incarnates

the epic pool is swappable as long as you have a single target ranged and AoE ranged--same IOs

 

and yes i still use the old MIDs(cant get the new one to work)

I may borrow this. I always wanted an electric brute on the live servers because I thought they looked cool but it never worked for me. I may know where I was going wrong now in not picking up toughness until the late levels, if it was ever part of the plan at all. This resource was really helpful in looking at the set as a whole, too:

I had an SS/Elec Brute on Live that was one of my main 4 Incarnates.  It was a bit of pain at low levels before the RES started to kick in, so I relied on Fury (& inspirations) carry me through - but Fury (& inspirations) were plenty.  As others have noted, the key is to get RES as close to the hard cap as you can, while accruing good Recharge & DEF bonuses as well.  Power pools, set bonuses, & special IOs are key.  I found my SS/Elec was quite sturdy in Incarnate material & could lay down the smack as well.
