Please reduce the number of runers, stunners, and swarmers!!

Recommended Posts

I used to play on the official servers years ago and rarely ran into problems on missions with enemies running away, stun spamming (this includes sleep, immobilize, etc.), and getting swarmed while soloing as a Blaster archetype.

Now I have run into a lot of missions with these issues, enemies that run away a lot is just a nuisance and I just wait until they return to finish them off, but the stun-locking is getting out of hand and I wind up completely helpless while my HP drops to zero (mainly on boss battles), as for the enemy swarms its just a pain when you have tight timers and that Blasters are not really good with these.

For a while I was able to deal with the major issues by just getting a few levels above the enemies in the annoying missions, but now that is impossible since I'm at level 50, so please fix this so that missions can be soloed properly.

If you're a at level 50, your best bet is to dip into Incarnates and pick up a Clarion Destiny power.  It'll protect you from pretty much all enemy mez, and the best part is that unlike other Destiny powers, you can get it permanent at t3 instead of having to go all the way to t4.

Just as a reminder, you can also still use your T1 and T2 primary powers while stunned, slept, or held. I think you can also use your T1 secondary, but I keep forgetting to check that.

There are a few ways to deal with mezzes:

1. Rune of Protection from the Sorcery pools can be used proactively or reactively, as needed.

2. You can email yourself a few breakfrees, so you can access them in or out of instances and even while mezzed.

3. Take some sort of stealth power or slot a stealth IO, (or otherwise use abilities to allow you to get the jump on your opponents), and mez/take out those troublesome critters first.

Unfortunately one of the mission arcs I'm stuck on is related to the Incarnate system (two elite bosses and one stun spams while hitting like a truck), so I don't have any of those powers yet only the Alpha slot is open from when I was working on the flashback system but no materials to fill it.  I just recently hit level 50 a few days ago, and I'm still researching things.

My power sets are Electric Blast, Electric Manipulation, Flight, and Arsenal Mastery, plus I have Technology as my origin, I might try the sending Breakfrees trick (once I figure out how to do that), I may have to rework my enhancements (possibly respec and find a better combination) there might be some sets that reduce the debuffs passively.

Buy the large Escape or Liberate inspirations. They last the longest reducing the frequency at which you need to reuse them. Open your in game e-mail. Type your global name (including the @) as the recipient. Drag one of the inspirations into the item slot of the e-mail. Put in anything for the message body, like just the number 1. Hit send. The message will show up on your e-mail list with the attached inspiration. If you have the e-mail window open, you can claim an inspiration from the e-mails you sent yourself as long as you have an open inspiration slot on the character.

Depending on your build, you may just want to pop like 4 Righteous Rage inspirations and an Escape before starting the fight, and then just refresh them from your inspiration tray or e-mail until the mezzer is defeated.

Edit: Also, you can check here for set bonuses: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Set_Bonus_Comparison_Tables

You won't find any protection other than KB, but you can get resistance to reduce the duration.

@LazerRay

Greetings Lazer welcome to the forums.

We do hope you stay awhile 🙂

Combat jumping works great against immobilization

Flight has knockback mitigation

Acrobatics has extremely limited Mez protection

as others have said inspirations are your best friend as a blaster

If none of those techniques are effective

give a shout in lfg or general chat

A hero should arrive to help or

A villain will assassinate your foe

Its easy to criticize a suggestion but can you suggest an alternative?
