Yes, I've seen the movie.  The gore and gratuitous violence are part of the absurdity of the entire movie.  That being said, you mentioned "gratuitous violence", not gore.  Now, go fight some enemies and tell me that you weren't guilty of just a little overkill... ** kills some low-level thug with a fireball, by crushing them to death with the very force of gravity, and so on **
