nowherewoman Posted November 29 Posted November 29 In Praetor Duncan's second mission in Dark Astoria, "Uncover Information from the Circle", twice now the Keres has not spawned, leaving the mission incompletable. I've found all 3 NPCs, explored the entire map, AFAICT defeated all enemies; there's no 'last enemy' map marker for the boss. Tried the mission twice, having logged out in between attempts; have tried leaving the map and returning in case she got stuck in a wall. Tried just standing around for a while to let her catch up if she'd gotten lost. Nada. Not sure if it's relevant, but the mission description shows the 'Rescue Ajax' and "Save Madame Bellarose' objectives as complete, but there isn't an entry for speaking to Diabolique, even though I did and she ported out. Bad flag?
nowherewoman Posted November 29 Author Posted November 29 Also, if you're supposed to find a glowie first, as per the 'Find information the circle has on Mot' objective (I've not done this mission in some time, so I don't recall the exact flow), the glowie isn't spawning AFAICT.
Hedgefund Posted November 29 Posted November 29 Diabolique would not port out, she's a non-combat NPC that's quite easy to miss and your write-up makes me pretty certain that's what happened. After freeing Ajax, when you move on towards the end room, you'll go through a big room with an island in the middle, Diabolique is on that island and you have to click through her dialog to get the Keres to spawn. I've done this myself (once) where I simply missed Diabolique and spent a good amount of time retracing steps, ultimately I found her and went on about my way. There's no variability to where she is, always on that island.
nowherewoman Posted November 29 Author Posted November 29 (edited) I did, in fact, talk to Diabolique both times I ran through the mission. Went through the dialogue 'You have me beat....' through ' Goodbye, we'll meet again very soon' dialogue (she's not easy to miss- she's standing almost right in the path in the lake room), and she vanished. And that was that. No Keres, no nothing. Going to try it again tonight, try to get a log. Edited November 29 by nowherewoman
Rudra Posted December 1 Posted December 1 (edited) Just did that mission and the Keres spawned for me. Edit: As far as the glowie goes, I found it in the same room as the Keres. It is a large trunk and it was just past the Keres in what I have come to call the sacrificial/ritual room. Edited December 1 by Rudra

Do you mean the room with the arcane circle where you rescue Ajax, or the big red-lit Oro temple room at the end of the map? In either case, 3rd time on the mission, nothing.

I mean the room at the end of the map with the rows of bleachers where on other missions that use that room is where you will find the NPC to be saved from being sacrificed. So if you freed Ajax and the ???, and spoke with Diabolique, and you still aren't finding the Keres and chest in that last room past the lake room where you talk to Diabolique, then I don't know what to say. The Keres has so far never failed to appear for me.

Hedgefund Posted Thursday at 06:35 PM Posted Thursday at 06:35 PM (edited) Here is the sequence of required events for that mission. Anything not listed below is optional. 1) Free Ajax in that circular room in the middle of a bunch of hallways. 2) Go to the island with Diabolique and click on her enough times to satisfy that objective. 3) Go to end room, fight Keres and other mobs, glowie is in that room. That's it. My bona fides for this - done it well over 100 times by now, including twice since this topic was opened. Number of issues - 0, except the one time I missed Diabolique but that was a "me" issue. If you have done 1-3 above or if completing 1 and 2 doesn't allow 3, then you have an odd bug and it's worth petitioning (or autocompleting). The "???" objective is optional (as stated in the mission objectives), I never do this because I've freed her earlier in the arc, so not required for the mission. Yes, Madame Bellerose is optional, but given what the author is saying, (s)he/they should not be having issues with the Keres appearing and so I am trying to cover as many possible interactions as I can. As for the freeing her earlier in the arc, I may be mistaken, but you need to free/interact with her and Detective Hopp in every mission they appear in for the badge. (Edit: At least it is easier to make sure you find them every time than try to remember when you can skip them.) Edited Thursday at 06:51 PM by Rudra
Hedgefund Posted Thursday at 06:52 PM Posted Thursday at 06:52 PM You are indeed mistaken, they only each need to be saved once.
