A friend of mine wants, for personal reason, avoid the Early Bird badge, which is awarded for being one of the first to play a recently published AE arc.

Is the criteria for "one of the first" based on time after the arc is published? Number of people that played it? I'd like to put this friend at ease and show them my work.

AE ARCS:

Most Dangerous Game (ongoing): 16058, 16059, 16060, 4363, 15230, 22386, 23645 * The God Machine (finished): 26365 * Family Reunion (finished): 18920 * Remnants (finished): 5405, 5408, 5411, 5597 * Ball and Chain (finished): 33690 * The Scroll of the Spirit Dragon (finished): 37070 * Prime Real Estate (finished):  43979 * Lord of War (finished):  49034 * Euthanatos (ongoing): 41945, 54307, 54312, 50727

Your friend doesn't need to display the badge, or any of the ones they may randomly pick up. There's an option in Menu/Badge that allows one to display any earned badge, or "Clear Badge Title" (at the bottom) to display none at all. The badge will still appear on their badge list, however, and can be selected at a later date.

It's a global badge awarded to all characters on an account.

I think the only way to avoid it is to never rate an AE arc with any character on an account.

Seems a weird thing to want to avoid, but as someone else said it's awarded account wide so the only way not to get it is not to do AE content. Ever.

Save the AE arc if you haven't already, and load it up on Brainstorm/the beta server, and show your friend the arc on the beta server.  May get the Early Bird badge on the beta server, but it'd only apply there.
