I suspect it is less about financial sponsorship and more about becoming the "official" game Twitch stream.

Either way, (and obviously I can't speak for the dev/mod team or the particular person I quoted), but if I were in their shoes, I would not want to give someone my "blessing" who has no track record, seemingly just joined the game, and with no way for said dev/mod team to cut them off, should they do *anything* to cast a negative light on HC in such a public way;  I'm not saying they'd actually do this, but what if, while streaming, that person starts spouting slurs or something?  Seems like a lot of risk with virtually no reward...

They would be banned from Twitch and likely lose partner status and also it would be extremely random to do.

 

Are you two actually unfamiliar with Twitch/partner system? Other Private Servers actually have done a promotion through twitch, Return of Reckoning being the most recent in mind. It's just allowing people who stream the game to promote your server while offering some kind of reward for watch time.

 

So if i watch Moist play City of Heroes for 5 hours i'd get like 3 winter packs and then if you watch for 8 you get idk uh a hami-o. these are just examples. It's not actually that deep or a risk for HC much at all since it's common in the gaming space.

 

that said- idk the terms of their deal what they can or cannot do or are even interested in doing. but if they did, it's pretty normal these days.

Uhhh no zero none not a cent I know HC don't have that scratch and would never ask em for such.

Yes. Like Facebook and other social media, I don't bother with Twitch. I would also like to point out that I am not arguing against the poster, just pointing out the livestream guidelines (that I realized after the fact the poster most likely already knows since was asking about a partnership and not about streaming) and providing feedback about the request possibility. That feedback boiling down to "I don't think it will happen but that doesn't mean it won't".

This is why I wanna talk with a staffer and see because like you said I HAVE ZERO idea what the terms of the deal with NCSoft is and if its even ALLOWED.

I stream this game for over 6 hours a day xD everyday cept Monday *Coughs* I have no life leave me alone xD that being said you don't bother with twitch but if I had a partnership and they offered a hey get like a gift of something in game weather it be like a twitch cape or just a HC logo you can slap on your character or just w/e right me having that may in turn have you go ya know what I would sit back and watch this guy for an hour to see whats up and see how other people clown around on HC.

Been playing this game since 2019 for HC and was playing on Virtue LONG before that I would never want to do anything that would damage HC I love this game to much and have invested a large portion of my life to this game to throw it away like that 😕 This is why I very much specified I would like to talk they are obviously going to want to review my stream before they make a decision but I have not seen anyone broach this subject and I saw no other place to really put it other then in the support channel like I said I dedicate a large portion of my day streaming this game 6+ hours you can find me on the MSR's daily and I got a rep for being a pretty fun guy and funny to I have always said City of Heroes is the greatest MMORPG community of all time and I would love nothing more then to expand that.

Not sure why you put your response in my quote or why you are trying to explain Twitch partnerships to me. I don't care about Twitch, so I'm not going to weigh in on anything about it. My only intent was to clarify what I perceive as the likelihood of your request being met. I'm not arguing against you by any means, not trying to convince anyone that your request is a good or bad idea, or otherwise have any say in the matter. If the devs go "Hey! That's a great idea!"? That's fine. If it gets you more viewers if you get the sponsorship? That's fine. I don't care either way. That was not the intent of my response.
