 Hello again 🙂

 

 I've been playing a build that has satisfied me like no other lately. The powers so perfectly mesh with my idea of what a golden age blaster would be. The looks, the sounds and the unapologetic BULLYING. From level 1 --> it's just been so ... enjoyable and, like I said, SATISFYING.

 

Some of my energy choices rankle some, I don't care 🙂 I don't like Energy Torrent, and I never will. I find the cone particularly clunky and too chaotic for a set that is already blowing things around. Besides, I have Burst of Speed, which I love, and Dragons tail, again <3! By the time we get to explosive blast and Nova .. well losing one cone seems insignificant. 

 

 I fooled around with the recharge and landed where I'm at. It feels just about perfect. No need to chase more. 

 

The same with the defenses. I'm a Blaster. I've embraced the pew pew kick face life.

Could you move the reactive unique from hover to weave?  You could either leave it at 3, lose a little defense, and gain a slot.  Or just put it there and get the 4th slot bonus.

My small suggestion would be putting the Overwhelming Force set in Explosive Blast so you can use it in melee range without knocking enemies away. And at six slots it gives you Knockback Protection.

I love Energy/Martial Combo!!  Glad you do too.  It's SO fun!  But, but, but... you skipped the most awesomest and funnest power EVER!! - Ki Push!!  😄  I just love watching them slowly float away through the air.  😄  

 

I actually like the cones of Energy Torrent.  I also Took Throw Sand and put the Stupefy chance for KB in it - it's great to see them mostly all fall backwards from the sand.  😄

Thank you!  I love KB and embrace it.  Bonfire is the only power I'll use a KB2KD proc, as it's fairly useless otherwise.

I did experiment with this notion, however 2 things made me pick how I currently have it.

 

1) I wanted that 3% in as soon as possible as blasters get precious few options to insert defense in a low level environment ( a.k.a. while leveling ) I don't forward funds to my heroes making them "tough it". It's a personal choice and one that does seem weird, I know. It's not too bad, I just gather merits from exploring and Ada on the hour >:D

 

I've been putting in attuned enhancements for the ones I want/need to be at end level spec ( in a manner of speaking ).

 

2) The added 3% for fire cold would push me over the soft cap ( SO STINKIN CLOSE! ) but in the end I wanted the level up experience to be as fluid as possible. The end requirements of weave are such ( significantly more than Hover ) that I wanted ( I think it might be ingrained in my CoH DNA now! ) to get the endo relief in asap. ( and because I have Tough raw doggin' it without endo help in the slightest! ) That would push the %3 enh even further into my build. 

 

 Still, respecing (sic) into it is absolutely a great suggestion and worthwhile for sure, when I hit 50! Thank you 🙂

I get your point about wanting the unique early.  Makes sense.  But the other part I think might be a misunderstanding. The resistance cap for blasters is 75%.

Right, but the soft cap is 45 as I understand it.

Eh, not sure what that would mean. Pretty sure there's just a hard cap at 75% for blasters.  45% is for defense and is usually referred to as a soft cap.

First of all your Reactive Defenses Scaling Resist Proc provides no DEFENSE at all.  So, you are not getting 3% defense from it at all in Hover but you are getting 3% RESISTANCE base to all.  And you get more RESISTANCE as you lose health.  Yes, this is nice to slot as early as possible.  

 

Also, by adding the Reactive Defense Scaling Resist proc into Weave for the added 4 piece set bonus of 3% Fire/Cold Resist - would put you at 47.3% RESISTANCE to Fire/Cold.  But there is NO soft cap for Resistance.  "Soft Cap" only refers to Defense.  Every attack has a 50% chance to hit or miss, and all mobs get a 5% chance to hit bare minimum making the "soft cap" for defense 45% (or something like that, iirc).  Resists just scale up to the HARD cap, and for blasters it's 75%.  (Defense actually does have a hard cap too of something like 175% which you see when incarnate Barrier power is used.  And incarnate mobs have a higher ToHit and whcih make the incarnate soft cap up to ~55% DEFENSE.) 

 

Also, not sure what you're talking about for End relief early on with the Reactive Defenses Scaling Resist Proc - it has no bearing on your endurance usage at all.
