LordRassilon Posted February 3 Posted February 3 (edited) I don't know why I never noticed this before, but just ran a playthrough of one of my AE arcs with friends and noticed that system messages are only visible by one person on team. And it seems to be completely random as to who gets that message. So boss defeat or objective complete messages are just randomly popping up as a system message for a single person on team...and there does not appear to be any rhyme or reason as to who gets the message sometimes. Is there anyway the Devs can make it so that everyone on team gets the system message? As teams go through the story, clues in the system text are almost certainly getting missed because the team is reliant on having those instructions, hints or details noticed and then repeated to the rest of the group. Now I'm not always the most observant guy, so maybe this has been an issue with the regular game as well. When I'm more awake I'll have to check to see if that's the case. But it would be REALLY helpful if everyone on the AE team could get all the system messages. Just a thought, LR Edited February 3 by LordRassilon
ZamuelNow Posted February 3 Posted February 3 On Sunday, I'll try to keep an eye out for this. If it's an AE only bug it might have been missed due to soloing. Clave Dark 5 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I'm wondering if the messages for say a boss defeat are only going to the person the system figures out landed the killing blow points or something. But yes, like the Drop Ship defeat on an MSR, it should be shown team-wide, not just to the one player. Tim "Black Scorpion" Sweeney: Matt (Posi) used to say that players would find the shortest path to the rewards even if it was a completely terrible play experience that would push them away from the game... ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ Clave's Sure-Fire Secrets to Enjoying City Of Heroes Ignore those farming chores, skip your market homework, play any power sets that you want, and ignore anyone who says otherwise. We discovered that even the boss defeat wasn't necessarily going to the person that landed the killing blow. It seemed very random and only one person would get each message. 1
Forager Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Good thing nobody would ever put anything important in a system message. 1
Clave Dark 5 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Have to admit I often don't bother wit those, or use it for a throw-away joke Tim "Black Scorpion" Sweeney: Matt (Posi) used to say that players would find the shortest path to the rewards even if it was a completely terrible play experience that would push them away from the game... ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ Clave's Sure-Fire Secrets to Enjoying City Of Heroes Ignore those farming chores, skip your market homework, play any power sets that you want, and ignore anyone who says otherwise. Forager Posted February 13 Posted February 13 We should petition to change "system message" to "throw-away joke" in case there are still people confused about it's purpose. Maybe at least a note in that tool-tip/question mark thing? Ya know... for the portion of the playerbase that is "less socially aware." 1
