Starhammer Posted April 1 Posted April 1 (edited) So as of early this morning through now, I'm having trouble getting in game. The launcher is taking an odd amount of time to show news, with an error message that eventually goes away to be replaced by standard news. Login works sometimes, but attempting to select a server locks the game up, which after a few minutes, eventually returns to the login screen. I've gotten the "Can't connect to DB Server" as well as the kinda generic error message implying my network must be at fault... even though my network has no trouble connecting to anything else. However, server status shows people online on all servers, so maybe there is something on my end? I haven't made any major changes since last time I played. Getting this error when I try to verfy install: Error retrieving http://manifest.cohhc.gg/pkg/hc_live.json: Timeout was reached Error retrieving https://manifest.cohhc.gg/pkg/hc_live.json: Timeout was reached If this is part of this year's April Fools I am not amused 😞 Edited April 1 by Starhammer
Starhammer Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 (edited) Alright, I'm not sure what's going on. After many repeated tries, sometimes I can log in, sometimes I can't, sometimes I can select a server, sometimes it locks up instead, and if I select a server, it may take minutes to move to character selection or it may shunt me back to the login screen. This is NOT normal performance by any stretch. Edit: Quit to Character Select is also intermittently shunting to login screen. Also: The errors are not solely connected to Torchbearer, but do seem to be exponentially worse and more likely with Torch, where I have many more characters than on other servers. Marine X Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Sounds as if you are using something other than the Homecoming Launcher to access the game. If it is Tequilla, the Manifest updates when updates drop, such as today for the April Fools event, are not instantly available as they are for the HC Launcher. I would suggest downloading it now as they have already stated that Tequilla is not going to be supported much longer. The HC Laucher can be installed at the following link: Getting Started - Homecoming " When it's too tough for everyone else, it's just right for me..." ( Unless it's Raining, or Cold, or Really Dirty or there are Sappers, Man I hate those Guys...) Marine X

Rudra Posted April 1 Posted April 1 It's on your end. I'm not having any such problems. If you can't verify the files, then try a fresh download/install.

Starhammer Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 Whatever it was, seems to have fixed itself. That bugs me almost as much as the problem happening in the first place 😕

Expand Or, more annoyingly, code crashes that go away when you put in debugging statements so you can see where the program is when it falls on its face. Fortunately, this happening is almost always an indicator that you've got a rogue pointer. 1
