ceto555 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Hi there, Can someone recommend a good secondary for Elec for mainly solo leveling? Thanks!
mistagoat Posted April 15 Posted April 15 (edited) Electric control is pretty light on damage, maybe pair it with Storm or TA to get some damage out of your secondary. edit: oh or Traps! Edited April 15 by mistagoat 1 SPOON!

I agree on trying to pair elec/ with a damage dealing secondary. I think it will be a struggle in the early levels regardless, the few secondaries that get some good damage dealing powers do so at late levels (at least for both Storm and TA, never played Traps). Marine would make the earlier levels slightly easier since Whitecap can be easily proc'd out to get some solid damage early into the build. All 4 should play smoothly eventually, but early levels can be sluggish. Storm in particularly will likely be painful early as you get almost nothing offensively other than freezing rain which is really only useful for it's debuff rather than damage. 1
Carnifax Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Marine is a great shout. Whitecap is a good attack once procced out and Shifting Tides does a LOT of damage (like 2x the damage of Hotfeet levels). Only potential issue is both sets are busy (Elec is basically "layer a load of different controls and see what sticks") Trick Arrow is also a good call. TA animates quickly and gives you extra control & good debuffs. Proc up Ice and Acid Arrows. My level 50 builds [Bullitt Time : DP/Kin Corruptor] [Carnifax : Ill/Dark Controller] [Kerriae : Plant/Storm Controller] [Echinoderm : Bio/Spines Tank] [Iron Brew : Mace/Rad Brute] [Snookered : Staff/NRG Brute] [iScream : Ice/Ice Scrapper] [Binman : Savage/Shield Stalker] [Modul-8 : Time/Sonic Defender] [Concussion Blast : Fire/NRG Domi] [Orblivion : Dark/Martial Domi] [Mombie : Necro/Nature MM] [Tempore : Water/Time Blaster] [Thermodynamic Flux : Ice/Fire Blaster] [Carni's Online CombatLog Parser Alpha]
Uun Posted April 16 Posted April 16 About a year or two ago I built an Electric/Dark controller that's a lot of fun. It's light on damage, but not annoyingly so. Basically unkillable. Probably the safest character I've played short of a tank. The Gremlins are pretty squishy and Dark does a good job of buffing and healing them. Uuniverse
Death2Tyrants Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Elec/Kin, Elec/Poison and Elec/Traps were standouts for me and my playstyle. Elec/TA was a disappointment.
BjorJlen Posted April 30 Posted April 30 What I have used in the early game to help with damage is tap into the Sorcery Pool for Arcane Blast. Yes, it is single target damage, but it does very good damage in it's own right, and once you immobilize everyone, you can just pick them off as you choose. It also has the benefit of giving access to Mystic Flight (if you want to fly/teleport), and more importantly... Rune of Protection. 🙂 Please come and join us on Friday at 6pm Central Time for our Friday Fashion Costume Contest (see the link below). We all hope to see you, yes YOU, there... ddime2000 Posted May 12 Posted May 12 I'm playing an Electric Control/Electric Affinity right now. A lot of fun and a great team mate... but he can't kill a fly trapped in a paper bag! Not a solo option. But again, a lot if fun and top notch support.
TygerDarkstorm Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Elec/Storm and Elec/Marine would be my suggestions. Elec definitely doesn't start to feel decent until mid-late game. Global: @Valnara1; Discord Handle: @Valnara#0620 I primarily play on Everlasting, but you may occasionally find me on Indom. 🙂 Notable Characters: Apocolyptica - Demons/Storm MM; Lurking Monster - Human-Form WS; Environmentabot - Bots/Nature MM; Miss Fade - Ill/Traps Controller; Sister Apocalypse - Beast/Dark MM; Dr. Elaina Wrath - Plant/Rad Controller (Join the House of Wrath, and spread the word of science!); Ruff Ruff Boom - AR/Devices Blaster

Like I believe I mentioned in my last post (please forgive if I didn't), I have now started tapping into the Sorcery pool for Arcane Blast (as well as Mystic Flight, Rune of Protection at times), to help with that exact damage problem. It is not a AoE attack of course, but it does fairly good single target damage... enough to help with the damage issue many control sets like this deal with. And so far it is a very good compromise, especially in the early & mid game. So perhaps, maybe try this and see how it goes and all..? 🙂 1 Please come and join us on Friday at 6pm Central Time for our Friday Fashion Costume Contest (see the link below). McJigg Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Odd recommendation, but I levelled an Elec/Dark. It is SUPER low damage to start. Dang near anemic. BUT, super safe. You use /dark to lower everyone's accuracy, and pretty soon elec/ has sapped your everyone's endurance. I also found it to proc pretty well. By the end you have 3 pets (2 elec gremlins and the dark servant) adding to your damage and control. I quite enjoyed my time with it, but it's been 2-3 years since I played the character. Rerolling far too often, even by this game's standards.
