The animation for Storm Kick on a Scrapper/Stalker/Brute is different from the Storm Kick animation for the Martial Combat pool for blasters.

 

The former is a heel kick that spins "backwards" while the latter is a forward spinning kick. I would love the ability to swap these two animations (as I prefer the Blaster version!)

If I'm not mistaken, blaster Storm Kick uses the same animation as dominator Spinning Kick (which is a non-targeted cone).

 

That said, this is my favorite part of the blaster version:

My favorite part too. That attack is always at the core of a character's choreography if they have access to it.

That said, I would very much like to see each version have access to alternate animations... as I would for most melee attacks.

On the blaster, the second kick (the name escapes me right now) is a low aoe "sweep the leg" animation that is a non-targeted ability. The storm kick is targeted knockdown, I believe. I'll have to check. The Dominator version is the one attached to all the throwing stars, right?

Blaster Storm Kick is targeted with 100% chance of knockdown. Dominator Spinning Kick is a non-targeted cone with 60% chance of knockdown. Brute and Tanker Storm Kick get a 10s defense buff. 

 

All the sets have Dragon's Tail (the PBAoE) with a 75% chance of knockdown, although the radius varies.

That makes sense. Either way, I want that animation in Martial Arts! Hell, I want it in Street Justice too--maybe in place of that big windup punch. It's just such a solid looking kick and a shame that no scrapper (my favorite class) can have it!

I'd happily take any of them as an alternate animation for Fighting/Kick.

The existing White Belt front kick is just.... so non-super.

 

That said, I get that swapping animations isn't always easy-peasy-ice cream-freezy.

The damage numbers, activation time, endurance cost, etc, are all a package. 

There might need to be a slight pause at the begining / end, or possibly a slight snip of some parts of an animation, to port it to a new power and have it all work right.
