When the game starts up all I get is a black screen with my mouse pointer. Once it flickered and showed me the login screen. But it instantly went black and hasn't done it again.

I think the first thing to know is what graphics card you have.   That sounds like something that happened with me back in the early days and I didn't have a supported graphics card.

If you happen to have Dual Monitors I seem to recall an Issue where CoH will only work if on Monitor 1. Also found this post...

In the launcher open the settings for Homecoming and click the reset graphics on next run button. Then make sure it's set for your primary screen. This happens a lot on dual monitors when it tries to open the game on the second screen rather than the primary one. It happens for other reasons too, but the reset graphics on next run fixes it.

Sorry I was away for a few days, entirely gave up on it and I think, after having the EXACT same problem with a different video game, it has to do with AMD's config software. Adrenaline. I turned off every option it had, and Voila fixed the other game. Im about to download this again RN and will update  if it fixes. It's a Amd Ryzen 5G variant. AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics. Some weird name in software. Vega/something that starts with a C.

Ok so Im not sure which option in AMD's adrenaline software did it. It's like Nvidia control panel. Not to be confused with AMD's master software. Anyhoo, Turned everything off, fixed both this game and dominions 5! I do not know which option, nor do I care much. But if it will help, I will go back and turn each one back on one at at time until I know so that I can share.

That is really nice of you to do that...you might help someone else having the same problem.

I have an AMD Radeon RX 580 and I'm getting the black screen at login as well, and turning off Freesync and disabling hardware acceleration in the launcher doesn't fix anything. I use a multi-monitor setup and the issue persists even when I switch the game to monitor 1.  Any ideas as to a solution would be appreciated, I hope I don't have to wait for an update to correct this! :)

Has it worked in the past and stopped working or is this an initial setup. I have a similar video card but only a single monitor and ditched Adrenaline and just use the basic driver.

Have never really had any issues running Homecoming or anything else, just wanted to avoid the bloat of the graphics package.

My specs:

It's a known dual monitor thing. Just open the options in the launcher and click reset graphics on next run, and make sure it's set to the correct monitor. Happens to me all the time. Usually closing the second monitor first works, but sometimes it has it's moments and forgets which one is primary. Being a GM I'll open a second instance when someone needs help and park my player alt somewhere safe, Then even though I closed the GM screen after I'm done next time I log in it decides to be annoying.

Maybe try ALT+Enter and switch to Windowed mode? You want to make sure the window fills the screen before selecting a character as you might have to move some stuff around. I run multiple screens and use windowed mode all the time.
