srmalloy Posted May 26 Posted May 26 This is for the 'Gather Intelligence' mission from Montague Castaneda, where you have to rescue Lady Jane and take her to a chest in one of the back rooms of the mission map. Now, I'm not asking for any change in her combat/follow logic; what I'm asking for is to make her intelligent enough so that she can walk and talk at the same time, so that when you rescue her she doesn't just stand in place monologuing until she's finished telling you her life's history before her feet come unglued and she can move, following you as you lead her to the chest. 1
Rudra Posted May 26 Posted May 26 This has been asked for many times. And Flambeaux shows it can be done. And if Flambeaux can manage it, I have a hard time believing Lady Jane can't. The only question I have is how her lengthy dialogue may be broken by getting her to the chest quickly. 4
DrRocket Posted May 31 Posted May 31 I hate having to escort NPCs that are not capable of seeing you through your stealth and are just simply blood thirsty, you just got to wonder "if they want to be rescued at all" Of the many mission types, I abhor escort jobs, but it comes with the turf. I have found with some groups, a player with ATT stays behind and when the person has the NPC actually following, the other player activates the ATT and gets both to the entrance and completes the mission, sadly this trick is not always effective. V/R Taking the NPC to the entrance is not what you do with Lady Jane and that isn't what the OP is about anyway?

Now I'm pondering picking one of my characters with Mark and Recall and rerunning Castaneda's arc in Ouro just to see if, when I do the standard run of clearing the route to the chest before I rescue Lady Jane, set the mark, then come back, defeat her guards, have her go into her monologue, and trigger the recall, it yanks Lady Jane with me, potentially before she finishes her rant. 1

Could be a good test. I'll be waiting to hear the results.
TheMoneyMaker Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I like Lady Jane as the belligerent rush-into-danger type of NPC. Go get 'em L.J.! COH Music: Origins & Archtypes, Heroes & Villains, Croatoa, Nemesis

Don't rush her, and when she's ready to fight then she can do her thing. COH Music: Origins & Archtypes, Heroes & Villains, Croatoa, Nemesis
tidge Posted June 16 Posted June 16 I always run to the end of that mission and defeat my way back towards her. It doesn't make her any less chatty, but it reduces my stress levels. 1
