I think psychic based powers like dominate, world of confusion, mind over body, the upcoming psi armor, &c. should all have minimal FX… Psychic power being able to be completely mental instead of visible would be super cool, and more in-character for many toons. 
 

I’d go a step further and say most things need minimal FX wherever possible.

It's one of those concessions to the requirements of being a game that player affecting powers (armors, attacks, etc.) be readily detectable.  I agree that most purely mental psychic effects should probably be subtle, but then it makes it a pain to deal with illusionists and such.  So embrace the pinky-purple power of City psychic power. :classic_biggrin:

Well, invuln has minfx.  Even unstoppable has minfx, which has a defined time limit not to mentiom a crash.  If that can have it then other stuff should too.

I'm assuming you mean "for the person using it" and not "for the affected target," to be clear. 

 

Been brought up before - I think *I* did as a joke at some point regarding psy blast, even. 

 

My only real... gripe? about it is that you'd still be affected by casting time. Also - Would you be looking at removing the animation as well? While it might be "suitable" for some characters, I *suspect* they'd get kind of boring to play in such an action/graphics heavy game. *Especially* if you're talking removing animation... walk, stop, look at someone for a second, walk, stop, look at someone.  (Edit - this being more for control/attacks/etc rather than armor, generally.)

 

*shrug* I probably wouldn't use it, one way or the other, but wouldn't be bothered all too much by it being an option.

I agree.  I've already tried to accomodate this by using powers with the darkest effects possible, but it's still not quite right.

Adding minimal FX shouldn’t effect cast time or animation imo.    Maybe some alt animations for some of those powers would be cool but not essential.  I mainly want minFX for toggles, actually.  Attacks don’t bother me much at all.
