Which of the AOE powers do procs actually work in? My understanding has been that targeted AOEs work like pseudo-pets and do not fire procs reliably. I'm specifically looking for which really work with FF +recharge. Like Tornado, some posts say it works great with procs...that runs contrary to my thinking. Some also say proc out Lightning Storm, and this one may be true, but I do not even know what type of power this is...it's worded like a PBAOE but then it's slotted with range enhancements, even though MIDs has no range listed.

Another question... I have a Kin/Storm Defender and Cat5 already scatters mobs, how much worse is that gonna get with Storm Summoning? Actually, from a solo perspective, my Kin/Storm enjoys the scatter, they don't hit me and I just pick'em off while they run around.

I don't have a Storm Summoning toon and love Storm Blast's chaos, so why not MOAR chaos?! But really I just wanna sit in the middle of my storms like a god and just arrest the every-loving crap outta bad guys.

Thanks folks!

Edit: Also, OMG all the Storm Summoning powers endurance costs! Talk about the blue bar blues...

Tornado and LS both trigger ffb when you summon the power, so in that regard they can do it very reliably.

Tornado isn't particularly great at any other procs ime, but if for some reason you have the extra slots and endurance then achilies and the pet build up proc are both ok.

LS doesn't roll damage procs well; however, it can attack so many times (11 iirc) over the duration that it can result in a lot of proc opportunities if the fight is static.

Ultimately if the fight is long and you get multiple nados and LS out the procs can add up

Nado 100% needs kb converter. LS benefits from it, but is less important.

Regarding scatter that depends on you. Skilled use of gale and hurricane can pack mobs tighter. Enhancing slows to slow cap normal enemies drastically reduces scatter.

Mid's isn't great at displaying stats for powers that summon pets with their own powers. When you activate Lightning Storm, it summons the pet directly over your head. It is stationary and has a duration of 60s. It has 1 attack (Lightning), a targeted AoE with a 5 ft radius, 5 target cap and a range of 100 feet. Although the attacks are AoE, the power takes Ranged Damage sets (not Ranged AoE sets) and doesn't accept many procs. I prefer to slot LS for damage and recharge since you can have more than one out at a time. My preferred slotting is 5x Synapse's Shock (excluding the endmod piece) plus Thunderstrike dmg/end/rech, which enhances both the damage and the end drain and provides good set bonuses. Some slot KB>KD, but the KB is only mag 1 so not critical.

Tornado summons a pet with a 30s duration. The pet has an auto power (7 ft radius/5 target cap) that ticks every 0.5s doing damage, kb, -def and stun. Tornado does accept quite a few procs, but I haven't tested how well they work. Again, I slot for damage and recharge since you can have more than one out at a time. Slotting KB>KD is essential.

As far as Storm Blast, procs work reasonably well in Jet Stream (3.5 PPM procs have a 33% chance to fire), but don't work well in Storm Cell, Chain Lightning or Cat 5.
