Giant Bug MM

Was watching some vintage black and white bug horror movies, and it occurred to me, how cool it would be to have a Bug Master MM, where the bugs available would the old classic Praying Mantis, the infamous Black Scorpions, and lastly "Them" Giant Ants.

 

Since Ants were numerous, they would make a good threesome, the scorpions would a good duo and the Mantis would be the main pet.

 

Not sure what special abilities I would give the various bugs, maybe you all have ideas for this.

 

Since Mantis have this unique wavy movement to make other bugs not notice them, would be interesting if the Mantis would go into Stealth and attacking, would certainly be different as pets go... But I am only brainstorming...

 

Any ideas?

Def an interesting concept, but as far as I know, there’s not much insect NPCs available on top of having to create new skeleton riggings for the mantis. It’ll likely take years if it were to be implemented.

 

But if it were to be implemented or something like that was planned in advance, I’d consider the following:

• The whole set focus on reducing stats and dealing Damage over Time, to make up for being mostly melee ranged.
• Praying Mantis are the one reducing Resistance, giving them an edge over other T3 pets.
• Black Scorpions (or just Scorpions to not confuse them with THE Black Scorpion of Arachnos) are the one dealing more DoT than other pets in general and reducing Defense.
• Giant Ants are the one dealing -DMG on the foes, which with all three Giant Ants makes for a heavy -DMG on one foe if all three are kept well alive.
• Perhaps smaller ants be available akin to Gang Wars and Hell on Earth, with weaker HP but adds even more damage if protected and buffed well.

When I said Black Scorpions was a reference to the old awesome black and white movie.

Was thinking for the ants instead to -dmg, to actually be -res as they tear the armor apart of their victims...

 

The Scorpions would have a Hold proc to simulate the stinger's poison...

You can sort of kludge this by playing a "Crabbermind", but if we're talking "pie in the sky" kind of stuff, then I say let THEM! eat... everything!!!?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the 'grabbing your target, pulling it to you, and eating its head' animation won't be found anywhere in the game currently...
