Pie-ro Posted Sunday at 04:58 PM Posted Sunday at 04:58 PM (edited) Full team ran a Ms Lib master run and one person died in the first mission, we finished the first mission anyways and after the cutscene we defeated the boss, then the leader initiated a retry of the tf by using LFG while we were still inside the first mission. It popped up for us to join and once it hit 8 out of 8 I clicked on exit mission at the top at the same time it tried loading us into the tf. It appeared like The game freaked out and didn't know what to do with me and dropped me outside the sub with a dialog box asking if Id like to rejoin which i've never seen before. I clicked it and the game crashed and I went to desktop and it was asking me to file a crash report. Edit: After I got back in I was told other people crashed as well I just wanted to make sure I came here and reported it also. Edited Sunday at 05:00 PM by Pie-ro 🔥
Rudra Posted Sunday at 05:25 PM Posted Sunday at 05:25 PM Your team tried to restart the TF while still in the TF? (I didn't know that was even possible.) You can't be on more than 1 TF at a time. And it seems like you were trying to run 2 at once. Of course the game doesn't know how to deal with that and dumped you to your desktop if you managed to get that far. If you want to restart a TF, you have to quit the TF, reform the team, and then start a new TF.
lemming Posted Sunday at 05:50 PM Posted Sunday at 05:50 PM (edited) Sounds like a race condition that confused the engine when you clicked exit. I've done the LFG out of a mission or TF as described without an issue, but it's interesting that everyone crashed. Possibly because you were in transition between maps when it tried to move everyone to the TF start and LFG does want you all in the same zone. I think it checks where everyone is to make sure you're all in the same zone on start, but if that changes... Just tested and yep, if you hit exit it will crash the client, but otherwise, it will do the port to the TF contact per usual. So, don't hit the mission exit bit. (And don't use some other method to leave the mission like a base port or Ouro portal) Edited 23 hours ago by lemming

You can't be on more than 1 TF at a time.. I've been through a few that did that. I don't think it's done in a mission, but outside. It keeps the TF Team together and you go to the TF Contact while leaving TF Mode. Allowing Toon swaps and new members. It may be possible in a mission, but of that I'm not sure. 12 hours ago, lemming said: Sounds like a race condition that confused the engine when you clicked exit. This sounds like what went wrong. Remember! Let's be careful out there! SAFETY NOTE: If Leader not on Map holding the Mission Door, First Toon through the Mission Door will set Notoriety. Hold until Leader on the Map! Hedgefund Posted yesterday at 09:54 AM Posted yesterday at 09:54 AM I've used LFG while within a tf many times in order to restart, never with an issue. You're never on more than 1 tf at a time, using LFG doesn't put you into a TF, it teleports you to the contact (not talking about iTrials or seasonal events where LFG does put the team directly into an instance). It's entirely possible using LFG in the OP was coincidental to crashing, in my session last night more than 1 teammate was consistently crashing during normal gameplay.

From inside a current TF mission though?

The issue isn't starting it from inside an instance, but from a character exiting the location when it's trying to move you. (Exact mechanics unknown) Devs seem to be aware of this now, but who knows if it's an easy fix to add a check to at least stop a crash. I also got a crash by doing LFG from the open world, but clicking on an Ouro portal just before zoning. Interestingly, I did not get a crash if the LFG was to an instanced Trial, just on ports to a TF contact. I wasn't able to replicate crashing other characters clients in anycase. Not sure why the other players crashed, with me the other chars ported properly as long as they didn't click exit or something, but there may be another variable to tweak. 1

It just tells me that you were on an active TF. (Which, again, I didn't know was possible, but did not directly address my own comments.)
