Certainly what I am looking for, at least after having tested it on a Stalker. The range more than anything should prove to be highly relevant, as the power is really wasted on minions, and allowing it to be placed deeper in a group can allow me to work from the edge inwards while it grinds on a boss. I think we all knew that Sonic wasn't going to be a S Tier set off the bat, and while comparing baseline numbers against an S Tier set is good to confirm this, I would say those numbers are not particularly worse than many of the other B Tier or even A Tier sets. Given the tradeoff for the team utility of debuffing resistance to debuffs, is that a bad thing? Really looking forward to seeing how the set plays with high debuffing toon like a sonic defender or a Huntsman build. With procs my Huntsman debuffs resistance at around 60% in an area, and that number not being resisted against purples will be meaningful. I think having another damage set with some team utility is not a bad thing, and am willing to sacrifice some top end DPS to achieve that.
arcane Posted Tuesday at 01:44 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:44 PM Yeah I think we can all agree that there’s zero need for every new set to be as good as Battle Axe and that only comparing a new set to Battle Axe is a weird cherry pick.

Why can't we expect power sets to be balanced between each other exactly? If battle axe is somehow too good, why is it allowed to exist for 6 years in that state? 1 1 1

I didn't ask for Sonic to be as good as Axe nor did I offer any opinion on the set. I can't test in a vacuum, I need a know quantity to compare it to. I'd encourage you to perform your own tests if you don't see the value in mine. 2 2 SPOON!

I think that a set that has a fiddly mechanic that must be managed to gain its optimal performance absolutely should perform as well or better than a set that doesn't need a fiddly mechanic to gain its optimal performance. That doesn't need to be damage solely, but there should definitely be a clear advantage to dealing with Attune. It could be in clear ST dominance while Axe does better in AoE. I don't it is unreasonable to suggest that if you need to put more work into a powerset then that powerset should provide some advantage over sets that require less work. 1
