Ice/Stone Melee Tank

Both are capable sets and should work quite well together.  My experience with Ice is somewhat limited as I only played one Ice tanker to around 45 on Live right before shutdown but I'm completely familiar with Stone Melee and it offers a lot of soft control with it's knockdowns, the Stun in Fault and the MAG 4 (Yes, 4) hold in Seismic Smash.  The only downside to Stone Melee is that it's fairly end heavy and that can be an issue before your build matures.

Guardian Survivor, occasional tanker and player of most AT's.

Thoughts on this pairing, yay or nay? If you have a build, please post. I'd like to get an idea of what I'm looking at.

 

My favorite!  This was my main back in the day and I'm rebuilding her now.  You'll use a lot of End early game but it gets better, just be aware.  It has some satisfying burst damage and tosses enemies around with the Stone melee set.  The Ice Armor is a defensive set instead of resistance like most and has great taunting capabilities with Chilling Embrace and Icicles.

So I see you've been posting this build a few places on the forum. I'm an Ice/Kat tank. At times I feel pretty good and other I feel downright bad. How does your build operate on ALL content? I thought I had a solid build since I run ITF +4/8 with no issue, but when I fought Banished Pantheon in Dark Astoria mission arcs, they handed my a** to me if a support isn't on their game. I like ice/ tanks, but I don't want it to be a build where I have to seriously analyze the enemy and then say "What guys, let me grab an ult that can deal with this better."

BP is ALWAYS going to be a problem.  As they're tossing MASSIVE debuffs of all sorts.

For pretty much everything else, it's a decent brick.

If you want to be godlike, pick anything.

If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK!

That makes sense then lol. They gave me the business lol. Is this where you extra Defense% comes into play with hedging for defense debuffs?
