Daohor Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 Don't know whether or not this is a bug. But During a quest where I have destroy some crystals against Devouring Earth type monsters. When I destroy the crystal it spawn massive amount of mobs, we're talking around 20+ here, the same happened to a friend I was with where he had to get parts from Clockworks, when we hit his target, a parts pile, mobs started spewing forth. Again we had like 20+ on us. Sadly I can't drop the quest as I had to drop the previous one, it was kill 5 crystals in stead of just the three I have to kill now. Its the story line from Eliza Thorpe in Talos Island. Please help me with how I can better provide the info as I feel a write up about it is insubstantial.
justicebeliever Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 It's working as designed... With the Clockwork, the "Box of Parts", it's supposed to pour out Gears like crazy. Fortunately, the gears are underlings which means at least they are pretty weak...I still get that enough bee stings will still kill you, but if you really buff up and take out the Box as fast as you can (death or not), then it should be much easier to clear out the gears... The Devouring Earths "Will of the Earth" crystals however are a different story. Those bastards spring out Lt. and Minions like crazy...I had to spend 2 hours once stubbornly going back over and over to take out those. I bet the Nurse got a big bonus from all the Inspy's I bought, and it still wasn't enough. I had to load up on an insane amount of Large Inspy's to get in their and take it out...Still sends shivers down my spine... Daohor Posted July 21, 2019 Author Posted July 21, 2019 Darn, ok, guess I will chuck it up to bad design on the original creators then. Guess I will have to try my best at some point then. Thanks for enlightening me.
Six-Six Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 I think it's unfair to call it bad design from the creators. It taught me to prioritise targets as well as a bit of guerrilla tactics. Also, it makes the game interesting to throw in a seemingly impossible task every now and then. I personally think it's no fun when there's no threat of dying. And yes, I too became quite well acquainted with the nurse during those missions. =) On the bright side, dying a lot incurs xp debt which earns you a badge if you earn enough. You also get the Unbroken Spirit badge which, again if you die enough times, you get the Back to Battle power for free from P2W lady. My Toons
Daohor Posted July 22, 2019 Author Posted July 22, 2019 OH I know about dept badges, this game has badges for everything. But seriously spawning 20+ mobs that don't give xp or inf in a tight confined place like caves is not my idea of fun. I agree, I can just run back and forth and kill one or two mobs rinse and repeat as needed. But really, its not fun for some and others enjoy a challange. Ah well, heres to hoping I get it done next weekend.

Pherdnut Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Bring an MM buddy. We're always happy to help fight spam with spam. I did see a spectacular number of mobs in what by all appearances was a couple of vanilla praetoria syndicate mission a few weeks ago. The newer player I was helping out said he hadn't touched difficulty settings. An exemplared 40-something at least MM shouldn't have to run away and guerrilla a less-than-20 mission to get through it.

XaoGarrent Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 With most of these, you just chug some purples, maybe some reds, and become as gods. It's a little harder in the early game, where you have a limited tray, but It's good to start learning how to ration and use insps early in the game because they're what makes the difference between a wipe and literal godmode in the late game. Inspirations stack freely with each other, and are *massively* powerful if you use the right number of the right insps in the right situations. Or really, you can just team up with a tanker, a support, or as suggested a Mastermind. But you don't *need* to, just remember you have buff candy, especially as the game will keep giving it to you if you keep using it while fighting.
