Christopher Robin Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 (edited) Ahhh finally. The forums just didn't feel right without an art section! Hello to everyone already here and to those just now finding their way, welcome home to the new best part of the forums! This will be the place I post any new completed art, WIP's (Works in Progress) I am still tinkering with and any fan-art or commissions I feel like sharing. Comments are encouraged (I prefer them in fact) and by all means if you have constructive critique please do share it with me as well. Spoiler I'm starting my art thread over because the last one was more about troubleshooting the old forum software, asking if people could see the images I was posting, responding to things that were no longer there etc. than it was about the art. New forum software is installed, images seem to be working for now, let's try this again shall we? To the artz-mobile Batman! This was always one of my favorites, it was the winning piece for the month of January in one of the old FArt battles (yes we called it a FArt... short for Fan Art) from back in the day on live. My Fire/SS/(by powerset) Regen(by slotting) tanker, Brahn Fuhrnos... ya gotta "Feel the Burn!" Pencils and final colors. Darth Delicious Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 I like where the thing is going 😄 She looks fierce! 1
Christopher Robin Posted August 19, 2019 Author Posted August 19, 2019 (edited) Thanks DD! Some more stuff from my Live thread, this is a pencil drawing I did for Kai of her eponymous hero. It was originally going to be an ink drawing for a commission but I was never happy with how my first attempt turned out so I gave it a 2nd try. And since she had been so patient I went ahead and put some simple quick colors down on it too. Thanks Kai. Edited August 19, 2019 by Christopher Robin 7 Like the Costume Creator? Enjoy a challenge? Christopher Robin Posted August 20, 2019 Author Posted August 20, 2019 More new stuff! This is one of my most recent pieces. Meant to be a surprise gift for Caemgen she started out as a pencil drawing of about 1 hour and then had another 1½ hours of digital shading and some touch-ups to make her look younger (I guessed she was much older originally than she really is). Here then is his youth-ified skunk themed hero Mouffette. 8 Like the Costume Creator? Enjoy a challenge? Love to WIN? You really should've clicked here before 6pm on Sunday the 18th!
Christopher Robin Posted August 21, 2019 Author Posted August 21, 2019 (edited) More classics! This was my 2nd drawing of my Fire/SS/Regen tanker Brahn Fuhrnos. Which Digital Elf from DA found and surprised me with these colors. I asked if I could do some punch up work on it and this was our collaborative result. Then Bobby came along..... I feel like I could just end that sentence right there. Everyone knows when he would show up awesomeness would ensue. So yeah he went to town and this happened. If all that wasn't great enough Bhudicae came along and went all traditional artz on me with her colored pencils and I later received this. I've thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many different coloring variations on my line artz. More I say bring it on! Edited August 21, 2019 by Christopher Robin 9 Like the Costume Creator? Christopher Robin Posted August 24, 2019 Author Posted August 24, 2019 (edited) Here is a quick animation showing the various stages of progress on a Lucky Liam collab. The first stage is DD's pencils, second is Bobby Aquitania putting basic colors on it, the rest are me finalizing colors adding detail and punching up the contrast. Lucky Liam belongs to Anya/Darth Delicious. Edited October 8, 2019 by Christopher Robin Added the finished piece to the post for side by side comparison 9 Like the Costume Creator? Enjoy a challenge? Darth Delicious Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 That is still one of my favorite tripple collabs for sure! ❤️ (by the way it's Anja not Anya 😛) 1
Christopher Robin Posted August 24, 2019 Author Posted August 24, 2019 (edited) I do know how to spell your name, if it wasn't already in your new sig, it's all over your new improved website that we spent hours going over yesterday (which people should totally check out here... cough cough) I am just using the anglicized version cuz I don't think in Frisian or Dutch. Darth Delicious Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Okay then Kristoffer (Using Dutchified version here 😛). 2 2
Christopher Robin Posted August 25, 2019 Author Posted August 25, 2019 W00t! My Dutch-ified name is awesome! I'm gonna make her a Kristoffer she can't refuse. Also more collaborative goodness this was a prize I drew for a contest. The winner was DJ1 and this is his hero Grey Ming Badda Bing in pencils. Which DD added basic colors to. Bobby then came along and did some punch up work and this is what we all came up with. It was also simultaneously being colored by several more forumites (in addition to the above mentioned were Lord Goat and Mike November) and this was everyone's combined result. So many different ways a collab can go, it's always a fun surprise to see what ideas people come up with. 8 1 Like the Costume Creator? Enjoy a challenge? Love to WIN? Christopher Robin Posted August 26, 2019 Author Posted August 26, 2019 (edited) Decided to work on my own flats and try to come up with a coloring style that compliments DD's line art. I always liked seeing my linework colored in multiple different styles so I thought I would return the favor. This was the result. Christopher Robin Posted August 26, 2019 Author Posted August 26, 2019 (edited) Glad you like it Tem. She was kind of a pain in the butt (mostly my tethered pen's fault) but worth it as I learned several new things along the way. I've never really colored anything in that style before either but I am very happy with the way it looks. I also thought about putting in some blue gradients and radiation FX as a background but I accidentally filled it with that light peach color and thought it looked rather nice. If someone has a better idea for a background by all means have at it. Also I have something new(ish) that should be up in the next day or two. Here is a sneak peek for anyone who wants to take a guess. Edited August 26, 2019 by Christopher Robin 5 3 Like the Costume Creator? Enjoy a challenge? Love to WIN? Christopher Robin Posted August 28, 2019 Author Posted August 28, 2019 (edited) Hey now, you never know, it could be some other overly smiley hero with the Technis chin pattern who just so happens to........ ... okay yeah, it's you. Dangit, I knew I should've cropped the image down further, you wouldn't have guessed so easily if it was just a pic of the right incisor and a partial philtrum. Christopher Robin Posted August 29, 2019 Author Posted August 29, 2019 Hunh, I don't actually get that reference, must be a show I've not seen. 1 Like the Costume Creator? Enjoy a challenge? Love to WIN? You really should've clicked here before 6pm on Sunday the 18th!
Darth Delicious Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 (edited) All I know is that this actor played a part in Brooklyn99 in some later seasons... Edited August 29, 2019 by Darth Delicious

He shows up in a lot of Mike Schur's shows. He's in The Good Place, and I think he's also in Parks in Recreation? (I dunno, I saw him and all I could think was "Maximum Derek" 2 1
Darth Delicious Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 I will honestly say... I don't speak meme. As in I hardly ever get the reference or even if that's what you're supposed to do with memes. (also a lot of 'm contain USA politicians and as a Dutch citizen who barely knows her own Parliament... if there are refs intended... I won't get it) I usually do get the facial expressions or the body language the person on the meme is showing, though. So for me in this case... the words in the meme apply! "Nailed it!" ^_^ 1
Christopher Robin Posted August 31, 2019 Author Posted August 31, 2019 (edited) I speak Meme better than most but the internet can still stump you when it wants to and no one can know every show. Most are just what they say on the tin but my favorites are the ones that have extra meaning for those who know the show or get the reference or the ones that people use accidentally when they don't actually know the real meaning and end up saying the opposite of what they are trying to (ah delicious irony). Just asking in case "nailed it" is one of those. Edited August 31, 2019 by Christopher Robin 3 1 Like the Costume Creator? Enjoy a challenge? Love to WIN? Christopher Robin Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 (edited) Posting up some more classic stuff while I work on the new shinyz. This was a gift I made for some random forumite on the old 606 live forums. Apparently it was the first time anyone had drawn his hero but he liked it. I hear he commissioned one or two others pieces of art since then but that's probably just a rumor. I may have also drawn another version of it a few years later... Healix Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 OOOO Chris..I really like that last one!!!! 1 1 Forever grateful to be back in my city!
Christopher Robin Posted September 5, 2019 Author Posted September 5, 2019 (edited) Thank you Healix. I was quite happy with how that last one turned out as well although it was the first image that unleashed the ravenous art collector known as Caemgen upon the world (and yea a veritable nation of starving artists would hunger no more) so it kind of holds a special place for me (and in history). Moar collaby goodness! Among Baquitania's many artistic talents was his ability to do what he called "kirby-esque" inking. This is a collab we did as a prize for one of my many contests back in the day on Live. Fighting Patriot was the lucky winner. Lines by Bobby, colors by me.
