best dark/ pairing? (controller/dominator)

I'm rolling a new dark/ control toon and I'm wondering what the best sets to pair with it are. I can go troller or dom, I'm open to both.

 

 

I thought I'd ask about them both at once here instead of making multiple threads!

Just started a dark/nature troller and it looks pretty nice. Fearsome stare + spore cloud means -30% to hit AoE, and that is BEFORE slotting anything. There is a lot more of course and this could also be accomplished with /dark or /rad, but for me /nature has more interesting options.

Dark Control is VERY strong defensively. In general, you will not need much defense out of your secondary, and you should take one that boosts the offense. For that reason, for Controllers I like:

Kinetics, Cold Domination, Poison, Storm, Trick Arrows. Dark is thematic and not that bad since it has a good -Res power.

 

For Dominators, sets with -Def or high damage sets probably work best:

Rad, Thorns, Fire. Another option would be a PBAoE set that can stack Stuns with Heart of Darkness, which is Earth or Energy.

I have a lvl 50 dark/rad troller that solos AV's and a few GM's so far.

There are tons of options, with no real wrong choice here.

 

For Dominators, choosing a secondary with Power Boost (now called something else, not sure of the new name) can make your -ToHit in the Dark powers even more extreme, 

 

/Fire or /Psi on Dominators is just generally a good choice for any primary, including Dark.
