+1. Some of these are great suggestions :)

Ey man, its your idea, and sounds fun. One thing; the sound grenade, would it shoot out of your mouth? or is it an actual grenade you throw?

Redside is my all time favourite. Lots of solo play, but lacked in the community aspect. However, if there was a reason for villain being not as well as blue side were the mobs being too easy compared. Snakes and Arachnos units are very underwhelming to defeat, and the mooks as well. I don't remember dying much leveling to 50 on redside, but I know I died plenty of times facing as a hero from units that do considerable more damage.

Psionic Shielding and other Powerset Ideas I came up with
pattycake replied to Xaeon's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
EDITED: Neat. Hope Im not to critical, but your Volcanic Armour could use more work, as the whole set incentivized on combining damage and utility but you left out resistances to cold. You could add Cold resistance, and add another utility for sonic damage. (Imagine a block of ice meeting hot conditions) and cold melting before even it touches you. (theme wise) Or the fact that Cold hardens lava, so being cooled by Ice can further increase smashing and lethal damage. Lightning would probably have a hard time striking to something as grounded as thick heavy magma/lava, so I think the power set would benefit from having defense against energy instead of resistance. I don't know about psionic mitigation, on the theme level, but I am pretty sure glass/crystals have been known in superhero genre to reflect mez/psionic. By far, Volcanic Armour is my favourite. So much utility. -
I'm not exactly experienced with balancing. I feel Battleaxe deserves a buff, much on par with its cousin Warmace. Warmace has the most powerful single-target attacks along with moderate AoE damage, along with a massive stun-AoE (maxtarget=10) which people slot stun instead of damage IOs. An axe seems more like an multi-target theme, i'd like to see more cone-arcs. Battleaxe needs some love, like you mentioned.. The activation times are dreadfully slow, and they deal a fraction of what clobber/head-splitter deal. I don't know if this would make Battleaxe OP but I suggest 'every' battleaxe ability should have a cone-arc of a minimum of (maxtarget=2).

Requesting a non-AE server #TBL on July 1st

And this is what I'm talking about. I *was* respectful. I simply disagree with you. Strongly. And you have interpreted as "disrespectful" and "sarcastic". Sorry, but neither I, nor anyone else, is responsible for how YOU choose to interpret things. Following that, neither I, nor anyone else, is obligated to allow you to use YOUR personal interpretation to bull your perspectives through, unchallenged. Talking about "which AT is best?" Yes. You can compromise. Talking about tweaking powersets? Yes. You can compromise. Talking about major alterations to the game code, such that we talking about having to curate multiple versions of the game? No. We CAN'T compromise. Because there are reality-based limits on what the dev time and the budget will allow. Talking about impacting how others play, just because YOU define a playstyle as "bad" or "harmful"? Especially when you can simply IGNORE that playstyle and the people participating in it? No. We CAN'T compromise. Quite frankly, I don't care if you recognize my views as "valid". You will or you won't. And that's entirely YOUR problem. If you choose to ignore "You DO NOT get to define how others play this game.", again, ENTIRELY your problem. The only way your say has any actual validity is if you're paying for the server, hosting and the dev/GM time YOURSELF. Until then, you simply have "your opinion". And you know what they say about those. Then ask the devs to address it where you see the problem actually at. Ask them to set up an AE channel and create rules to keep the AE-related stuff limited or off limits in various channels. I've said my piece. If you choose to think it rude/mean/whatever, c'est la vie. I’ve almost read 1/8 of the whole suggestions and feedback forum. I’ve also read this particular thread the most, as far as I can tell people have been recognizing opinions, it’s just difficult to read tones, if you were to read any post with an angry tone you could even convince yourself a person is raging when they could be in fact be having an intelligent conversation. And yes, you can compromise by curating content because the top 10 mmos have curating features and are proven to promote growth. The real question most of this thread has been discussing are how the effects of DFB and AE have on the community chat/experiences.. that and standard code talk. Personally I have no idea if AE DFB accounts for inexperienced players, I do know about the spamming, but I thought it was great conversation. -
Yes! This is something I'd like to see +1 magnitude

Requesting a non-AE server #TBL on July 1st

Hey guys! Came and read the post from time to time, and enjoyed every bit of it. This thread will be locked on July the 1st, due to the taking of space of other suggestions and feedback. I'd like to thank you guys for your contributions, there was a lot of discussion on the topic and off-topics that have shed some light. Maybe some other day, a newer thread will mention the same topic, and we could have all have a go on it. Take the time and discuss more about AE/DFB, and the lock will prevent this thread from necroeing back to the top so others suggestions can be made, if you feel the topic hasn't been fulfilled, I encourage you to post your own thread and start clean-slate. I've learnt a lot from all the replies, and hope to read more before I do. I didn't think the thread would last this long, but I'm glad it did. The idea for me, of having an extra non-AE server, is still desirable. It is a want. I don't need it, and I certainly don't want to force it upon others. The game is heavily diverse, every player is sharing the same space, every player currently has the ability to play the way they want to. I can ignore AE, which I have been for the past few days, and my self-control has improved. Before the lock, I want to share something about how City of Heroes meant to me, and still does in a similar way. First off, the fun of organizing a sewer mission taking us all the way to Kings Row. Surely I will miss it, I can still do this. Having to be level 14 in order to unlock flight, my favorite transport power. I can do this on my own terms. Having unlocking the Cape and Aura. I can do this on my own terms. The massive grind to 50. Still is to a degree. ^ All these things were a feeling of accomplishment when achieved, and it may never be the same. But I have the freedom to do so now. Excluding the cape/auras, still could spend a free tailor. As much as I like to think vanilla CoX had a certain charm to it, everyone having to abide by the same rules without other features making yours obsolete, communities had to organize their own activities without features instancing it for you like /legion. All these points are based on a whim, not in fact, because you never know how something turns out until it is implemented, having an extra-server with a feature removed is like trading current-CoX(a gold-mine) for a plot of land that may or may not have diamonds. It could be a massive success, or it could also be a feature that 99% of the community didn't ask for. I am sure there are more players out there who feel the way I do, but its only an idea, an idea I am not entitled to its reality, but it is my opinion that the days before AE were more fun, and streets and LFGs were bountiful (assuming my memory isn't deceiving me). What is real, is what is now. I hope one day, a superhero Mmorpg can fill those gaps for me. Looking forward to reading more threads in place of this one, and four more days if this one is still breathing, **OFF-SCREEN double-tap echoes in the alleyway**. *I may or may not post the exact same thread exactly a year from now on general discussions I think this topic would be more appropriate there. -
Bring Underperforming Sets Up to Par

I’d like to see a rebalance for EM, MA, and AM; not just for pvp, but for both. EM not so much just a tad, but MA and AM are pretty underwhelming. -

Bring Underperforming Sets Up to Par
pattycake replied to BlueDragoon's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
No hostility, challenging maybe, but you learn more from others who disagree most arguments can bring light to some perspectives than people who just agree, its nice though knowing others share the same interest and you may exchange even more ideas without mentioning how it can effect other areas in the game. This is true, and it is mentioned multiple times from multiple people, sometimes people jump the gun and paraphrase and it becomes broken telephoned. I know my first post I suggested adding a feature, and people kept referring the feature as a removal of another feature they hold dear to, but my advice to you from what I just learned about forum-Etiquette is ignore the NSS comments people make and concentrate on the people who actually point out things about the subject.. Like how it can spoil things for others, or loop-holes IDK, anything logical, those people are great to talk to. -
Daym Xaeon, your creativity is sublime. Golems :D Make it happen

This post needs more attention, I am having a hard time gripping half what you are suggesting, could you explain more about PvP aspects regarding the current balances, what you think if was intended or downright broken. More interested in Primaries and Secondaries, but beggars can’t be choosers. -
Expanding Account Bound Unlocks (As a player option)
pattycake replied to Marstead's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Kinda strikes me as odd, people who think they know whats best, when majority of successful features are trial and error. You never know how good an idea is until it is implemented, because one small change can drastically change the atmosphere of a game and most of the time unintended bugs become full-fledged content while fully planned content can fall straight flat on its face and ruin the game forever, this happens all the time. What I am confused about is a player mentioning an OPT-system, and the conversation switched to suggesting in slash commands to 50.. Like they were actually related, (my opinion, there is hints of similarity) but many of my favourite successful AAA titles all have forms of OPT systems because it keeps the player base happy in the communities they most enjoy. PoE has HC and Standard realms. RS has ironman/HC. I haven't played WoW in a long time, but I am pretty sure world pvp servers still exist along with RP servers which GMs can invoke your character for not appropriately naming character or spamming in chat market-advertising that would be completely acceptable in regular PVE realms. I don't mean to raid OPs post. But he suggested a fair idea to earn accolades and with an option to enable it globally because its not for everyone, I'm not going to pretend its full proof because even the things I want or think are beneficial can impact the game depending whether or not there are demands for it. The idea that, 'look at that person who had it so easy, it makes my hero not as great because I chose the longer way' is only negative, because you convinced yourself it is negative therefor this person has a undesirable personality, absurdness and madness, because it comes across like you think you have the better judgement. People who are motivated by hard work and achievement is a huge incentive to an MMo's success. I don't think Mythic would be motivated enough to complete what was said to be impossible if other people chose the easy way and took an advantage of a system making raids completely easy because? Every person should have the right to complete every single feature, and there shouldn't be impossible content cause its not fair people work and dream of being recognized for specific accomplishments is some how selfish? How is he the outcast? I have one word. Connotations. If you convinced yourself the player is playing incorrectly because his interest differs from yours, well man thanks for supporting your community. I would have a problem with OPTcommand to 50. Because I don't to be identified in same category, because I have a horrible habit of going the optimal route, and if the most optimal route is entering /lvlmeto50 it would spoil the game for me. Much like how others can min/max there character majorly faster by doing content that doesn't interest me and somehow there achievements are the same as mine. The only difference it took them 3 days to get what took me months, and somehow.. We are no different, its a real motivation killer (I am not saying I am better than the person I am comparing to, what I am saying is what I said, with good intentions. I want others to click my profile open and see a whole list of badges they haven't collected because they too busy playing building of heroes much like how I enjoyed looking other peoples profiles and seeing theirs) I am ToZ, and I am in a completely different timeline than yours. -
I enjoy playing redside. The Blueside have Atlas, much more open and inviting atmosphere. Redside you have mazes of buildings and docks. Community is always better when you have a place to sit and meet up, especially from the very start of level 1.

Requesting a non-AE server #TBL on July 1st
pattycake replied to pattycake's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
non-taken. I will just leave it on the shelf. Last thing I'd want to do is annoy, and necro it, I suppose there are more important topics than controversial wants. Farewell :) I still think its a great idea though. -
Enforcer MM Basically a PS that changes from Arachnos soldiers when you are villain and Longbow when you are hero. Since the release day of CoV I dream of having an Army of Arachnos/Longbow. I'd also like to have a ghost army :)

Requesting a non-AE server #TBL on July 1st
pattycake replied to pattycake's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
First off, I stated I enjoy the way the game is, I didn't make this thread cynically to get my own way. I just want to experience CoH before the massive building of heroes update. I have no butt with anyone else using the AE, I use it myself to play creative missions others create, the game is fun. All I want is to read and take what people think about the days without AE, I have no power to remove AE, its not under threat, I am just a user who came from a completely different timeline. I didn't say AE was the blight of the game, I wouldn't refer to other players/bases being the correct or incorrect way of playing, all I was suggesting is there a possibility, where there is a feature that would allow players to OPT-out (themselves, not others, themselves) prohibiting the use for AE & trading for a specific character. And if they could it would mean a lot to me. A server with a disabled-AE, I am dismantled by what another person wrote, I didn't consider the possibility it would be popular enough to sustain itself. Thank you, OEM61. but again do I dare say, 99.9999>% chance it will not happen and I am not counting on it, but NOT mentioning is a complete 100% never, because if I didn't suggest it at all, how would others know players like I exist. I don't find comments like, JUST ignore it to be useful. I think it contributes nothing, at least mention you're not interest in non-AE gameplay, and you prefer AE for all. At least that is helpful, my intention is not to forum-police you, not at all. I'd just prefer something that adds to the conversation, like the rest. -

pattycake replied to pattycake's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I am a troubled individual indeed yes. I put a lot of thought after posting this thread, and yes I actually do think having a server with a disabled AE would be awesome. But I don't expect it actually to be done, it is a want and not a need. I like to think if I didn't mentioned the want it wouldn't strike anybody to imagine the possibility it could be fun. Like I mentioned, I like CoH the way it is, but if there was ever a chance it could be that way, not mentioning it would make it 100% certainty. I read the replies, and they stated some compelling obstacles and they make a lot of sense. I think creating a server with a disabled AE will be very desirable and a sound decision, but if it is more work on their part, I'd say it wouldn't be worth it all. I already mentioned my love for the game, being able to min/max your character in a week means less time you have to spend on the game, it has merit. Shinobu, I have no intention to add or dismiss the idea whether or not it you could. If it were the case, what would you prefer? Not having the ability for players to switch or yes? I am the type of guy who likes discussing ideas. I request a non-AE CoX to be a noteworthy topic for me, I also understand the circumstance of homecoming and how it is here. I also like to mention, this isn't the same version city of heroes I played and enjoyed, but I do like creating AE-missions and playing other peoples creations is loads of fun, I don't want to feel like an outcast. Hell, I'd even request an option upon character-creation which disables the use of a certain feature the player doesn't want spoiling. Like only being-able to slot training enhancements (It was a restriction to F2P accounts) It could add a challenge. Disabled P2W vendors for that particular character. Disabled use of AE for that particular character. Perma-death for that particular character. These are things Id like to experience. I understand the chances of any ideas posted anywhere ever, this is reality, but it contributes more than hard no remarks I wasn't suggesting removing AE completely, that would be absurd, taking a feature that people like away from them.. Pff The RS iron-man community is 1% to 99, even the 99% of the community wouldn't dare take the enjoyment of a fraction so small it practically is flat-lining, they encourage it. I think mentioning ideas contribute more than doubting whether or not it would be implemented in the future. I'd appreciate some input on some of your ideas on how you would like to experience CoX differently or talk about features you really enjoy and wish there were more of, add something. Contribute. -
Arachnos MM , figured it out . Can we make it happen please
pattycake replied to pheeonix's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Good for you, I respect a man who speaks his mind. I’d love to see an enforcer MM, that changes from Longbow if you’re hero and Archanoes if you’re a villain. It is much better to contribute ideas as if there are no limitations rather than doubtful remarks that stop ideas from flowing in the community. Speak your mind more :D Don’t let some smuck talk you out of a harmless idea -
I’d like to see origin powers stronger, Throwing knives is cool when you’re on cooldowns after blasting your enemies. It has a charm to it

pattycake replied to pattycake's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Makes sense. That’s actually a great suggestion, I think I am going to practice it sometime 😁 -
I played CoX before AE came out. I enjoy playing AE but; sometimes, I wish to experience a server dedicated to a non-AE route. It could be fixed just by me not using AE however the rewards are just so substantially better that it kinda makes it difficult to not to. I can’t help myself, I’m too weak, and I think there would be a small demand for it too. Imagine a community that has to form itself with the challenges of economy, more heroes would be out and about instead of being confined in a small building. Maybe I am being entitled, my intention is positive, I enjoy city of heroes the way it is, but I also would enjoy other experiences in creative ways like / permadeath shards / all enemies are purple shard / or even trade disabled shards. Has anyone else felt this way? Or am I just crazy XD
