  1. But seriously, being in this thread is the only time I've played a tank in COH...gonna go play my controller now. No ill will on anyone despite the disagreements. You all have a great day.
  2. I see your Spoc and raise you a Picard. Like Picard, if there is way to let both sides have what they want, that's the correct choice. Lt. Cmdr. Data: Would you choose one life over one thousand, sir? Captain Jean-Luc Picard: I refuse to let arithmetic decide questions like that.
  3. GD right!
  4. It IS a solution for everyone and It DOES make them lazy. and What you are advocating is that one side should have preferential treatment to play their character how it was designed while I'm advocating both sides can play their character the way it was meant to be designed. I'm not sorry you might lose 2 min of your life teleporting to null and making a perma option change vs GF users losing a power slot.
  5. It's a solution for everyone and no one should apologize for using their powers in a way that makes sense. Very few exceptions exist to that, like causing the team to lose by aggroing at the inappropriate time.
  6. I'm glad someone her eknows how to play a MM
  7. I mean sure...if you want to quote mine my stuff so you can win a strawman argument, go for it...that was an attempt at humor. You would know that if you've been keeping up with my actual position.
  8. Dude....that's literally what was said...I said it wasn't an issue for most of the TF and then all of a sudden it became an issue from one guy...the leader.... generally if it's multiple people you hear the bitching in team chat,
  9. I mean generally that's fair.....but at what point do you put your foot down? I completed most of the TF by that point and wanted the completion reward, so quitting wasn't happening. But with it not being an issue for most of the TF and only one guy bitching about it, to me I'm just like...sorry bud, that ship has sailed.
  10. Why do you consistently gloss over the fact that the null solution solves everyone's problems, whereas what you're suggesting only appeases one side? Accomodating laziness and/or forgetfulness isn't a defense full stop. So, let me get this straight, you're willing to believe 90% of what I've typed except the part where it could sound like I had a good reason for my actions? It's called cherry picking. You should avoid that if you want to be taken seriously.
  11. Except that going to null is there for that purpose just like GF exists to be used.
  12. I acknowledged rocket boots being one of the things I liked. I mean that’s reason enough honestly. There are lots of unnecessary things if you wanna get to it. A team of 8 for example when you have people soloing TFs
  13. That statement is almost true for anyone in a team of 8. At any rate it’s a moot point because good strategy is good strategy whether your DPS is needed or not. The alternative is to sit there and not play the game , but if I’m doing that, might as well not turn the game on at all.
  14. I’ve been playing this game on and off since 2004. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve taken a boot during that time. If it was common I wouldn’t have made a thread about it. But let’s say you’re right and that happened . Dude I got like 4 accounts with no limit in sight. If I want to play this game I’m gonna play this game. Simple as that.
  15. Consider what's at stake. The person using GF has to stop playing their toon as it was intended to be played OR Someone spends 2 minutes to activate a feature that has zero negative effect on them. Pretty simple math bob.
  16. Should I just hide thread now?
  17. I'm skeptical how good this guide is. This game is as hard or as easy as one wants it to be......but if you like not being carried by your teammates then you should acknowledge keeping your bots out of melee range is a sound strategy.
  18. The actual definition: " The ad populum fallacy, also known as argumentum ad populum, is a type of informal fallacy that occurs when someone tries to persuade others by appealing to whjat most people think, like, or believe. This is done instead of providing evidence to justify their position." So, in your example of someone calling you a jerk, they would have to provide examples (evidence) on what drew them to that conclusion. Saying, well everyone else thinks so is not an argument in of itself and is a fallacy. An example given by the internets... "Everybody in our family goes to Georgetown for undergrad, so it only makes sense that you do too"
  19. not ironic at all when you can stop it from happening. And yeah no.....keeping bots out of melee range of an AV is pretty important
  20. This is actually a good response. So yeah, I think we can agree it would be better if the devs made it to where you can turn it on/off during a tf. I'm not a programmer so I'm not sure what the implications of that could be and maybe that's why they haven't done it? At any rate...if it were the case GF was causing us as a team to actually lose the TF, then yeah obviously I would agree it should be turned off. If we lose the TF it's all for naught Afterall. But if you're going to win anyway..., would it not be the mature thing to say.... you know what.... I forgot...I'll suffer through this tf and fix it right after, so it doesn't happen again? But we actually got people here that think that since they forgot to take measures to do something to their own toon, it then falls on someone else to stop playing their built toon and if they refuse then the person refusing is expecting people to accommodate them? Not sure in what universe that makes sense.
  21. Thats not true at all...don't believe me...google ad populum on personal opinion and read the examples. Some of the most notorious examples of ad populum are pure opinion. At least here I'm attempting to lay out the logic.
  22. I saw it was getting slow around here decided to kick things into overdrive.
  23. That's like saying if you forget to pack your lunch, I as your co-worker am obligated to give you some of my lunch. People forget things I get it...same here...but if I forget or don't know something, I don't then transfer that burden to someone else. And telling me the solution is to remind my co-worker to pack his lunch before leaving the house is nonsense. He's a big boy....similarly if you forget to use Null, I don't mind you asking me as a courtesy, but it doesn't make me an asshole if I don't oblige you. And while it's true I can be booted for any and no reason...it's doesn't negate my ability to complain about it.
