Please show me where I said, "you are morally wrong for not agreeing with me" Hell, show me where I suggested that? If you need clarification ask, it's literally you and 2 other guys out of 18+ pages making that accusation. Lots of people disagree sure, not the same as ad homing someone accusing them of being a narcissist when you don't agree. I was simply illustrating that NEED to do something isn't a viable argument in a video game. The examples in this case don't need to be synonymous to illustrate a broad concept as a bad argument. Please connect the dots on how I was hindering the team and not simply 1 guy. Just like the last guy you just smuggle things in the conversation that were never said or portrayed. The intellectual dishonesty is getting out of hand. Lots of people don't know about alot of the game mechanics in CoX, can you site any other examples on when a person's lack of knowledge dictates the actions of others or just the one your biased against? Having a disagreement with a team lead is not the equivalent of the team itself, which is the point when I am being accused of going against the team (i.e more than one person) but I think you know that. Yup that what happened. Except I used it for the majority of the TF up to that point. Details matter. Maybe not to you, but several people have conceded that point that it was highly suspect to wait that long to say something. I don't debate people in the middle of a tf. It's not practical. I simply said, "I'm good" and left it at that. Perhaps if you didn't have a penchant for smuggling in things and making assumptions about people, you'd be better off. It's not usually an issue, this is the first time I've ran into it, so making an extra effort for something that likely won't come up again isn't worth it imo. It did turn into something positive. Now there are 3 very active threads about GF and ideas to re-work it. Maybe...just maybe the GMs will take notice and bring it to the devs. Do you think it was coincidence those threads popped up immediately after 16 pages of my thread? Sure, it wasn't my intent, but some good came out of it, nonetheless. Sometimes sharing a bad experience is what gets things rolling.

That's your flawed interpretation, not what was actually said. I also don't need to use my henchmen in a team of 8. I could just sit back, and collect the rewards, but that sort of defeats the purpose of playing the game. I use the powers I've chosen because the point is to have fun. So not NEEDING something is a poor argument in a video game. And yes, it does matter if that team lead wants to be taken seriously. If the dude is waiting at a seemingly arbitrary moment to complain about something, he is less likely to be listened to...if he wants to be immature and boot that's his prerogative, just like its mine to call out such behavior and leave a negative review. Never did, I'm not sure what "new players" have to do with my OP, I doubt someone leading a TF is a new player. But for the record, new players also can't fault others and expect special treatment for their lack of knowledge on game mechanics. Like someone pointed out, there's been a load screen about Null for the past 3 years. So, unless you've played less than a week you should have seen the screen. The devs can't make people read what's in front of them. With the existence of Null and this particular situation, it simply doesn't. But it's even worse in this case because I would have been a good sport and accommodated someone's laziness/forgetfullness had they simply requested it towards the beginning and not towards the end. I would call that concession the opposite of inconsiderate. You're saying people as in "plural". It was one guy. Also, because it was never mentioned as an issue until most of the TF was over, your "inconsiderate argument" is automatically defeated when I've already said I would have bit the bullet and turned it off if it was brought up earlier or by more than a single person. And you are assuming I knew it was going to have adverse effects on the team when there is no clear evidence of that. (i.e it wasn't brought up immediately) You had literally 1 guy bitch about it on the next to last mission, how you connected the dots to it being a me vs the team is beyond me. Again, this was a 1v1 disagreement, not me vs team as far as I could tell. Why do you keep smuggling in concepts that aren't there? When did I say that? You're simply smuggling in your own presumptions and biases about my thought process. . Experience is a great teacher; I've limped through many things in this game of my 10+ years of playing it not knowing stuff, and not once did I get upset at others if my lack of experience hindered me in any way.

This thread is the first time I’ve ever piloted a Tank . 😂

God I hope so lol . I regret making this post

I asked a simple question on whom it would morally fall on. Yes I was implying I thought I was correct but that’s when you state your position and argument. Instead it degenerated into personal attacks. You really should go back and re-read. I said I use it on open maps, not closed maps. Reasonable imo. I also stated I was using it for 75% of the TF and it wasn’t an issue. When you leave out pertinent details like this. You are being intellectually dishonest. I mean I’m sure there has got to be a better way than null, but going to null isn’t hard either. So at what point does a person’s lack of knowledge or forgetfulness then transfer to another person as a problem? Not trying to be a dick, I’m genuinely curious. There has to be some level of personal responsibility. I can’t go getting mad at other people for my lack of knowledge on game mechanics and expect them to alter their playstyle. I get that if null didn’t exist, GF would absolutely fall into the same category as fold space, wormhole, KB etc…… but it doesn’t….. it has a very viable solution that satisfies all parties. It would be interesting to see if this would actually change anything because tbh I thought null was a pretty solid and simple fix.
-
When half the responses are personal attacks and strawmen arguments, I think I’m more than allowed to respond. and to be fair atleast 2 of those pages were about trolling people with fold space and various other powers.
-
What's rich is those same folks seem to have the energy to type entire essays on why I'm a narcissist when I tell them to use Null on the forums though.
-
If you traverse a PVP zone for reasons other than PVP and do not wish to fight other players, does etiquette dictate they leave you alone when you request it? Or are you just fair game and too bad so sad?
-
For the sake of argument, lets just say for now its the case holds suck as the wiki suggests....would you be pro that 15 second timer being lifted or make it to where a hold would last longer than a couple seconds? I just want controllers to have the ability to 1v1 like they used to. Which I don't think is asking for much when someone can be damn near auto killed with snipes .
-
Weird. Glitch? bug? I would challenge you to see if you can duplicate that effect...if you can it my be worth bringing up to a GM or dev. As far as I know I have been unable to hold anyone to death since issue 13 and the patch notes also suggest that should be impossible.
-
Correct, Holds used to hold and its pretty common knowledge they don't now...they are more of a slow-down technique than anything....still good for teams...they can rarely go 1v1.
-
My guess is your mez protection was so low that you might have been in the same hold longer than 2 seconds...or perhaps it was a combo of confuse and a hold since they are on 2 separate timers? Can't say because I wasn't there. What I can tell you is I have a fully optimized controller for PVP, and I can rarely ever kill anyone 1v1. I've definitely not been able to hold anyone to death.
-
Let me clarify, unless you had some sort of mez protection in your primary power-sets you were kinda screwed, but with break frees, epic powers and temp powers, I can't see a good reason the massive mez nerf should remain in place. Simply put, there are more answers to mez now then there were when the nerf went into effect. Taken staight from the wiki " Status Effect & Knockback Suppression Every time a character recovers from a Hold, Immobilize, Disorient, Sleep, or Fear status, that character becomes immune to all five of those effects from other players for 15 seconds. Every time a character suffers a Knockdown, Knockback, or Knockup effect, that character becomes immune to all three of those effects from other players for 10 seconds. These two timers are independent. It should be noted that Confuse effects, while technically mezzes, are on a separate 15-second timer than the other mezzes listed above.
-
I was wondering the same. I "signed off" in hoping this thread would die but people would rather talk shit than play the game I guess ::shrug::
-
break frees came after the mez nerf in pvp.....iron wills were lackluster because you had to use them prior to being held/mezzed which is why i suspect they got replaced.
-
A controller doesn't have the damage output to kill anyone in 2 seconds and you generally have to stack holds to get those 2 seconds. By then you're already dead or they've used a travel power/stealth power to escape. Not to mention, if you land a 2 second hold, the pvp zone mechanic automatically makes them immune to future holds for 15 seconds....holds are a joke in pvp.
-
I actually liked PVP a lot before it was revamped on live...the re-vamp made controller types pretty much worthless.....atleast with the old version every AT could pwn some other AT...(Rock, paper, scissors) like you said. And teams made it even more interesting. I'm guessing old mez mechanics were "too good" when it came to teaming? But even so...you have so many ways to break mez (break frees and powers) that didn't exist when they nerfed mez into oblivion.
-
I was inspired by another topic I was reading earlier in this forum. Somone wanted "scrap snipes" or snipes in general to get a nerf which most people seemed opposed to. So, I'm wondering. If we are ok with people getting 1-2 shotted in PVP, what's the harm in restoring holds to their former glory before their massive nerf in live? Holds are sort of a joke in pvp compared to what they once were.

Is it time to reimagine the Flight Pool?
Gravitus replied to Scarlet Shocker's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I am for this as long as we can make it to where MMs can fly solo if they choose to in certain instances. Someone also suggested to just put null in close proximity to every TF NPC. -
Just asking you to stay logically consistent instead of having your bias make decisions for you. Have a great day homie.
-
it's a bit longer than 5 seconds. Summon pets, equipping pets, and then buffing is more in the neighborhood of 10-15 seconds or even longer depending on how much fire you're under (because you may have to prioritize survival or buffing allies) OR you can't see anything because of the light show coming from 7 other people popping off powers.

Sigh ok...one last post. Does that just apply to me or the guy who initially used Star Trek to make his point against mine? I'm aware the purpose of Star Trek, but if someone is going to use ST in their logic, I'm just going to match the energy. I thought that would have been obvious.
