Shield defense is a top tier armor. A little more clicky with the mez shield and Shield Charge but they are both so good you'll want to get accustomed to them. Shield can attain high resists/defense and DDR, only thing it really lacks is a heal. Of the more offensive armors it feels like the tankiest without being overly OP like Bio.

He uses that animation time to look into the future to see his target has already been ganked by the fire blaster.

Alpha: More damage is always welcome. On defense based characters I will consider something like Nerve Core for the Acc/Def. This lets you short slot some defenses with just LotGs and fills in for some good accuracy which can be harder to get from sets than damage. Judgement: Typically this one is more preference and theme, the cores tend to be similar with a few obviously stronger than the others. Interface: Typically I like Degen Radial for the extra dots, or yeah Reactive then Diamag are fallbacks. Lore: This is a lot of pick your flavor, if you dont need the buff pet then yeah I prefer those Knives Core you have, they do fantastic damage without taking up the whole room. Destiny: Nowadays its good to have one of each. Core Barrier is always good. I find I like Ageless Radial on my Staff/ Nin stalker for the extra recharge, endurance fix, and DDR. Hybrid: Its either Assault Core or Radial depending how often you see yourself approaching the damage cap. Solo without Kins its probably best to go Core.

If I were to take a swing at revamping KM while keeping as much of the aesthetic as I could this is what I'd do, specific to what I see from stalkers and translate it to the rest of the ATs I'd assume. Concentrated Strike should get the Total Focus treatment. Sped up to say 2s and keep everything else. Smashing Blow you can keep the animation but the internal damage should go up to give KM a justifiably real high dpa attack. Or maybe it reverberates in the target for some unresistable -res. Burst for starters should go from 8 to 10 area for all ATs (more for tanker). The damage is fine on stalks but probably could be massaged on all ATs. Focused Burst I skip, the dpa is so bad, its not worth taking even for a ranged attack. It shouldnt be so easily outdone by Char from the epic pools. Wholesale revamp on this one I could see.
-
Incidently I just made a KM/EA stalker. Let me tell you I'm in love! Funny enough KM has THE best and fastest AS in the game. If Burst had a slightly larger area, say 10, I could see putting it up there with EM for how effective it is on stalkers. I think KM may be saved on stalkers, the rest of the ATs though yeah those attacks just animate too long for the dpa they do.
-
Yeah I like to machinegun those fast ETs out whenever theres a ring on it and available. I mean you get two pressure stacks why not use em?! EM stalkers truly are yeah. I have to remind myself not to hold my other stalker assaults to the same standard. EM is the golden child, the rest of the assaults are the middle kid by comparison.
-
Yeah I agree with this. If you're looking to compare best ST burst damage for EM it would be a stalker for a best comparison. Their armor is scrapper lite but likely with maybe better more predictable crits along with having BU up more often, and access to a third extreme ST attack getting AS. Yeah stalks get a little less aoe but there are epic aoes that you can make due with that also feed your BU recharging. It is a little misleading sometimes with pylon times because like Maelwys is alluding to lots of those pylon numbers tend to depend on the various -res procs firing consistently, which EM doesnt really have ideal powers for those. But your teammates will have those slotted, making your EM attacks much more potent than they already are. Admittedly I'm a stalker homer but EM is objectively just so nasty on stalkers nowadays.

Eh I bet they actually do look through the suggestions. If the topic is reasoned out well enough with little bickering and something already easily to be able to be coded into the game I'm sure there's been quite a few things. I know I've seen topics about adding new accolades which we've gotten. There's been more costume stuff added like the highly requested Cim robes. Sure maybe not as much costume stuff as we may like but most of those suggestions I'd assume would need more dedicated artists since they might not be already engrained in the game.

Ah so you're suggestion his coms could be a perfect ruse that explains his absence during his conquest? If history has taught us anything about invading France its that he'll be back here posting in a fortnight.

Think thats a different kinda dungeon you're looking for...

I'm on the fence about this one. If its just your run of the mill quitting a TF just because, no badge title should be given for low effort. Now I've had someone on a MoMisLib quit the TF just after they yanked the seedling from the tree. The audacity to play along with the team to not die knowing they are planning to subvert our efforts after we were most the way through. Yes that kind of effort and villainy deserves its reward.

Yes 5 targets. Puts you into hide and gives you what seems like a disengage feature where if you're taking damage at that moment even for things like dots you'll get to execute your next attack from hidden no matter what. If you have room to fit it in it does do well for you as you're fighting. Should give it a try, first time I've taken it recently I find it handy and not cumbersome to use.

Hasten is the single best power pick in all of the pools. It shouldnt be skipped especially on doms where builds call for ruthless efficiency. -

The early 1-20s you're getting your controls which you should be taking Seeds and Creepers like you say. Mid levels 20-30s Doms start to bloom with their assaults which Nrg starts getting access to its best attacks which are ST, Nrg assaults have a reputation as ST boss killers and thats no different on doms, that should be the focus. Late levels 30+ you start getting access to epic aoe blasts which blow just about any aoe you find in the regular assaults out of the water. Once you get access to those you'll never want to use Whirling Hands, and in fact it will conflict with the better release mechanic for Power Burst which amps up your ST damage. If you want to take Whirling Hands early on as you level sure I do that with a lot of power sets. By 30 though I respec into the form I find I want for the later game then kit my characters. Late game Whirling is just a wasted power pick in comparison to epic aoes, I wouldnt even take it for a set mule. Doms are about efficient build choices and Whirling finds its way out, same with most of the other powers in Nrg. My main attack chain has room for the 3 best ST attacks I can get, showing stats to find the best dpa per attack will narrow things down, even before considering proccability. -

I was mainly focused on the assault and pool powers I didnt chime in about the Plant controls because I just wasnt looking. I'd have to agree with the others though, not having seeds or not getting the most out of creepers, you may as well play a different set. Seeds and Creepers are likely the 2 best controls on the game and they are housed on the same set. I'd take Seeds and slot a full Contagious set then with Creepers I'd proc out. -

The armor I'd slot different. You wont need the 3pts of kb resist from gladiators seeing how permadoms have some of the best mez protection money can buy. I like to slot that armor with 4 Unbreakable Guards to get the melee defense and hp unique, then I slot the Steadfast and Gladiators uniques. For Dark Obliteration your last slot is a pure damage IO. Why not just use the pure dmg IO from Bombardment and pick up the range bonus. -

Yeah dommies need to be played to fully embrace their playstyle and identify the powers you like most. They are late bloomers getting all their best attacks later so it can be a little bit of a slog early on. I'm used to all the ATs so I dont mind getting to 30 right fast then I'll kit it and play them from there. 30+ you can get a feel for it as you level. -

I'd trim some slots off of CJ, Manuevers and Tactics. I'd put just the lotgs in the two and a 53 HO in Tactics. I also on my sixth slot of Soul Drain add the Gaussian proc. -

Yeah that's how I'd slot Total Focus and Power Burst. Perfectly reasonable to slot the Manticore set into Snipe, though you could probably trim a slot since you'll want that recharge bonus at 5. I'd swap around Arma to Soul Drain, you'll use Soul much more often and for good reason. Dark Consumption is an endurance fix and oh look some extra aoe dmg if I need it. Dark Obliteration is the one I'd change most. It fits 4 dmg procs which I slot them all plus a Bombardment Dmg and Posi Acc/Dmg 50+5. Oblit is a bread and butter attack. One other thing I do is with Unleash. I slot 4 of Shield Walls all the ones with recharge and the unique and also a lotg. I like to have this recharge as fast as I can get it. -
Yes it's a crying shame Praetoria is so underdeveloped. You can tell the live team had honed their craft by the time that expansion came out. Hopefully this team gets to carry the torch forward building on such beautifully crafted stuff thats over there. Truly there should be a few Strike Forces over there. No to more low content though, there's already so much over there and in the game in general. But a 30+ and 45+ SF yes please. Some enticement to go over there is in order and what better way than a fun highly rewarding SF or two. Maybe some Praetorian enhancement sets that only drop from them to see that people dont just go for nostalgia and the content really sticks. *Also maybe for these SFs having a Praetorian born character on your team could net you some kind of extra rewarding thing like the special Vanguard fight on Aeon.

If you're needing defense but not always my doms typically take Unleash Potential since they can power boost it for 31 defense to all for a minute. Very handy in spurts and if you're building a high global recharge animal like a dom it recharges quite frequent for good use. -

On the topic of Tough/Weave yeah I kind of agree its a bit old school. Sure if you're needing a resistance armor to slot resistance uniques and dont plan to use a resist based epic armor I could see taking Tough/Weave for some mules. My set in stone pool powers on most doms are Speed, Leadership and Concealment. Last one varies but typically Leaping or maybe Force of Will if I have a powerboosting ability I can use for Unleash Potential. -

You're better served using the release to maintain great ST damage by using a Power Burst follow up to finish things off. When they first revamped NRG and Whirling did double damage with the release sure that was worth using but there was a 10s lockout on the mechanic. When they removed the lockout Whirling woulda been too good so they nerfed what Whirling did. The lockout removal gave Power Burst alltime top tier ST damage using the release. So I'd save my release for Burst and look at other powers for aoe. I adapted and looked in comparison at Whirling to aoe you could pull from epic pools. If you look at Dark Obliteration for instance it has a much higher target count, spread, range and faster animation for near the same damage per target plus you can load 4 damage procs into it with a high fire rate. You can do far more with an epic aoe blast than you can pull from Whirling. Then dipping further into Soul you can take Soul Drain which deals near the same damage and concept as Whirling but then it also gives you a hefty buff for 30s on your follow up damage. Comparing and contrasting ended up having me lean harder into epic powers to fill in for aoe damage. -
I mained a Mind/Nrg back on live before it was cool. I agree Mind does have lots of tricks up its sleeves with various mez timers they can play with. I used to get great use out of Power Push into Total Focus slotted for stun which then I could play with my prey. If anyone tried to save the mouse I had TK and all kinds of other controls to hold off any interlopers while I'd finish off my hunt. Unfortunately a lot more has changed since then. The damage output in particular from other ATs mez abilities with procs and proc bombs in general plus added survival abilities has made it real hard to justify playing a mez character. May as well play Ice blast. Mind/Fire was the OG king of dom pvp and likely is still.
