Well.... alt-itis is real. Anyway, a few things that stick out.... Your personal MM attacks now spawn Spectres. In my experience, they help a little with damage, and take some heat off of you and your actual pets. Having said that, it might be beneficial to try and work in Life Drain. Soul Extraction is a must have. You can use it to help mule a few of the MM Unique IOs which increase your pets' Defenses/Resists. Plus, it's a great power to have as it will help your DPS out a lot, and again, keep heat off you and your other pets. On Necro, I wouldn't even think about skipping this. Take it. Thank me later. Tar Patch and Darkest Night, again, are awesome powers. What's not to like about lowering enemies' resistances, their to hit, and their damage output? Unless you're chasing the few extra HP, I would slot Stamina with the Procs in Performance Shifter and Power Transfer (as you have) but then slot the Endurance Mod piece from each of those sets. You'll get a bit more End Recovery that way. Enchant Undead now takes Resistance. You can use it to slot some of the Unique Resist IOs if you want, or slot a little heavy on Reistance to increase your pets' Resistances. The Imp Skin unique will increase your pets Regen rate. Dark Empowerment now takes Healing sets. If you slot, say, the Numina's proc in it, it will proc on your pets the same way it would proc on you if you slotted it in Health. May be helpful for your pets (especially since if you slot the Imp SKin in Enchant to get them more Regen). YMMV. I think I slotted my Dark Servant with 4 Touch of the Nictus (including the proc) and 2 Cloud Senses (proc and To Hit Debuff). I went that route so my Dark Servant helps keep me and my pets topped off on health, to fill in any gaps from my own Twilight Grasp, and those 2 procs are nice. Every power the DS has has a chance to trigger the Cloud Senses proc. While the Deflated Ego proc would have a chance to fire on every thing as well, I am curious if it would actually be worth it? Maybe if you went Preemptive for your Interface power to get it to stack with the -End and -End Recovery? And speaking of Interface, did you go with Spectral for the chance of immobilize? The Diamagnetic would stack oh so nicely with Necro/Dark. All the -To Hit you already have, PLUS even more? Then throw in the chance of -Regen, and that's just icing on the cake. Or maybe Reactive for -Resistance and the chance of Fire damage? I think that Musculature would be a better Alpha power. More Damage, more Defense/To Hit Debuff, plus extra End Mod. Keep in mind that your Alpha will affect your pets. So your pets will have these bonuses as well. Howling Twilight is a great rez power, along with a -Regen effect, -Recharge, and a Disorient. I slotted mine with only 3 of the Absolute Amazement IOs. You could then take the extra slots and add to Shadow Fall to increase the Defense and Resistance (throw a LotG:Global recharge in there). Bottom Line, every person is different and chase different goals. As long as your build works for you and achieves what you want it to, then roll with it.

Truth. Some people still see Defender and automatically think "heals". That's why on my new Sonic/Beam Rifle defender I type "Lvl 50 Sonic/Beam Def LFT. I BRING +55% RESISTANCE TO THE TEAM!" so they know what I do.

"Ins and outs of Bio"? See sig.

Check link in my sig to learn about Bio. Pretty much every power is a must have.

Hey all. So, I've not really played Bots since Live, and I figured it's time to remedy that. I'm toying with pairing it with FF or Rad maybe? I think the-to hit, -Resist, and the extra -Regen from Rad would be kinda cool. Would the -to hit (and heal)be enough to to keep the pets alive? And how do most slot the pets in order to fit the def/resist Pet IOs? I know FF is the classic pairing. I may be persuaded to go /Electric. Thanks for any input/suggestions/ideas!
-
Maybe this? Course, may not want to listen to me....I mean, after all, someone on the forums pointed out that I am a n00b builder, have no idea what I'm doing, I gimp toons, and steer newbies in the wrong direction..... Take this build for whatever you want. I mean...over 50% Defense to S/L/F/C/E/NE... 467.49% Regen (57.42 HP/Sec), End Rec 4.05/s with End Use at 2.36/s...51.9% DDR, 86.5% End/Recovery Debuff Resistance, 96.3% Perception Debuff Resistance, 80% Recharge/Running Debuff Resistance...all without Granite. Tanker (Stone Armor - Stone Melee).mbd

If I were doing just regular SO/IOs, I would probably do 2 ACCY, 3 DAM, 1 END REDUCTION in my pets.
-
That should be a really good combo. If you slot the Panacea proc in Suppress Pain, it will have a chance to proc on all allies within the area of effect. Demons/Electric is another combo that is very tough.
-
Just curious if anyone has, or is, running Beasts/Storm? It seems like it would pump out a ton of damage (with the beasts' crit potential). Anyone? And any thoughts on the pair? Thanks, - X

Muahahahaha You're welcome.

I enjoyed my Shield/Ice tank. It was a fun combo, plus you can make an ice shield to go along with your ice swords! Frost and Frozen aura are GREAT!

What are the most team-friendly Mastermind builds?
Xandyr replied to ScarlettStorm's topic in Mastermind
There's a LOT of choices/ways you can go. Obviously, every Secondary will help your pets and your team (some more so than others). I always say, go with what fits the "theme/background" for your toon. Mercs Have been revamped, and are a LOT more effective/fun now. Just about every single attack your Soldiers do will do -Defense to the enemy. I always slot an Achilles' Heel: Chance for -Resistance in my soldiers. By doing so, you're almost guaranteed to always have -Defense Debuff and -Resistance debuff on your target, which will help your team. Ninjas Again, have been revamped and are more effective/fun. They pretty much, more or less, just bring damage to the table. Necro Ah...yes. The undead. Revamped, and are AWESOME. Almost all their attacks do -To Hit Debuff, and a few attacks can do -Defense Debuff. The Grave Knights now have a damage aura which helps pump out more damage. The Lich is kinda like a mini Dark Defender. He throws out -To Hit Debuffs, and has a little crowd control as well. All of this will help your team by debuffing the enemies' To Hit. Demons They're big. Been forever since I've played them. The 2nd tier pets have a resistance shield ( that I believe everyone would benefit from, and a PBAoE Heal . The Demons' attacks lower enemy resistance, which helps your team. Also, the Prince has some slows and a little control to help. Beasts Can debuff enemies' Damage, To Hit, Defense, and have a little crowd control. Thugs Enforcers will have Maneuvers, Tactics, and Assault which your team will benefit from. Pets can also do Defense Debuff. The Bruiser gets Knockout Blow, which can hold an enemy. Bots Protector Bots summon Seeker Drones, which can do -To Hit and -Damage. I *think* the shield that they give only affects your pets and you, but I may be wrong. Please correct me if I am. Your attacks will do -Regeneration. Secondaries...again, all the secondaries will benefit you/your pets/team. Here's a list of the ones I have played that I enjoyed and worked well. Mercs/Nature (more Resists, Heals, more Damage, absorb shield). Nature pretty much goes with everything! Mercs/Pain (more resists, more damage, heals, debuffs. A Regeneration aura. + To hit, and +Damage. Whichever teammate you keep Painbringer on will love you.) Necro/Dark...all the -to hit! And a heal! And some Crowd Control! Classic pairing. Necro/FF...unbelievable. You alone can softcap your pets' Defense. And give your teammates a HUGE boost to theirs as well (between 30-35ish % Defense depending on your slotting). Couple that with the -To Hit Debuffs your pets throw out, and you've made your team extremely hard to hit. Necro/Pain. I personally love Pain. Again, more heals, resistance, debuffs, regen Aura, + To Hit, +Damage. Beasts/Time. Was fun. Teams love Time. You bring Heals, lots of -Damage/-To Hit/-Defense/-Resist, + Defense/+ To Hit/ Slows/ some -Regen/ Hold/ and +Regen Recharge and End Recovery. Demon/Electric. Been FOREVER since I've played this. Electric Affinity is a busy set, but teams LOVE it. You heal. You increase Resistances. You give Absorb, and pretty much unlimited End to everyone. You give Status Protection, and +Damage, +To Hit, and + Recharge. You also make your pets EXTREMELY sturdy if you solo. Ninja/Sonic. Was kinda an "oddball" toon I made, but it worked out pretty good. The ninjas have inherently high Defenses, and have a decent heal now. So, I rolled one with Sonic to bump their Resistances up, and it worked. You also do lots of -Resistance, which teams will appreciate. Hopefully that will give you a few ideas. -
Happy birthday and welcome (back) to the City. You didn't mention it, but /Pain is great. My Necro/Pain is very sturdy, and the friends I play with really like it. Pain has an AoE heal, single target heal, an aura that increases Regeneration rate (pro tip...slot the Panacea proc in it, and it will have a chance to proc on EVERYONE in the radius). Pain also has a +Resist/+Damage power, a debuff, and then you get Painbringer. It GREATLY increases the target's regen rate, end recovery, and boosts their recharge and damage. Keep Painbringer on your partner's brute. I thoroughly enjoy Necro/Pain.

Any help and tips to my build Merc/Dark (Dark Mastery)
Xandyr replied to tumenter's topic in Mastermind
Here's mine. I like the Overwhelming Force proc in Soldiers. It has a chance to activate on each attack that each Soldier executes. If the enemy is flopping, they ain't attacking. Also, the Achilles Proc Chance For -Resistance is great to put in Soldiers. It will activate and pretty much always be active. Equip and Tactical upgrades now take Resistance and Defense. The Imp Skin in Equip is active on your pets, so it increases their Resistance and Regeneration. I put the Kismet: Accuracy in Tactical as it is active on all your pets as well. Also a great spot to throw a LotG: Def/Global Recharge in there. I highly recommend getting the 4 Pet + Def/Resist IOs in your build. Anything to help with their survivability. if you have any questions, feel free to comment or PM. My Mercs/Dark has been a fun build, and a survivable one as well. Mastermind (Mercenaries - Dark)1.mbd -
I mean, you could build and focus on Resistance bonuses. Just keep in mind, that if you are in OFFENSIVE Adaptation, your resistances will suffer a -7.5% penalty. I just finished slotting out my Bio/Ice tank last night. It's pretty tough.
-
Sure thing. Welcome to the City! As far as Bests go, I took everything except Call Swarm and Call Hawk. - Call Ravens, IMO, is a better power than Hawk. You can proc the crap out of Call Ravens if you want to, increasing your damage potential (and it can slot the Achilles' Heel: Chance for Resistance Debuff, which further helps your damage, and your pets' damage). - Train and Tame Beasts (as of right now) only need the default slotting (1 slot). Throw an Endurance Reduction in them and call it a day. - Do your best to get the unique MM IOs to increase your pets' defense and resistances. Also, slotting the Overwhelming Force proc in Wolves will help with mitigation. You get 3 Wolves, and with that Proc, every attack each of them executes will have a chance to knock down the enemies. If they're on their butt, they aren't attacking you or your pets. I was able to slot the following: - WOLVES Sovereign Right: Resistance Bonus Sovereign Right : ACCY/DAM/END Overwhelming Force: ACCY/DAM/END Overwhelming Force: Damage/Chance for Knockdown Mark of Supremacy: ACY/END Mark of Supremacy: ACCY/DAM/END -LIONS Edict of the Master: Defense Bonus Edict of the Master: ACCY/DAM/END Expedient Reinforcement: Resist Bonus Mark of Supremacy: DAM/END Mark of Supremacy: ACCY/DAM Blood Mandate: ACCY/DAM/END -DIRE WOLF Call To Arms: Defense Bonus Call to Arms: ACCY/DAM Sovereign Right: ACCY/DAM/END Sovereign Right: ACCY/END Mark of Supremacy: +Resist/Regen Mark of Supremacy: DAM I found with this slotting, all of my pets had great Accuracy/Damage/End Reduction, plus having those uniques REALLY help. Get those as soon as you can. I never use Fortify Pack. While I know it will increase your pets' Defense and Regen, it also stops your pets from hitting crits for the duration. With Nature, I think every power is useful. You DEFINITELY want Wild Growth, Wild Bastion, and Overgrowth up as often as possible. Take Hasten to help with your Recharge. There are IO sets that can help increase your global recharge, which will help also. Wild Growth increases Resistances and Regen. Wild Bastion gives everyone in the radius an absorb shield and heal over time. Overgrowth is ridiculous. It adds +To Hit, and endurance discount, AND a 49.5% increase to Damage. DEFINITELY want this up as much as possible. Your debuffs, Corrosive Enzymes and Spore Cloud, are great. Combined, they bring the following: - 8.75% Resistance Debuff -18.75% Damage debuff from Corrosive Enzymes, and another -16.88% from Spore cloud, for a total of -35.63% Damage Debuff) -150% Regeneration debuff -To Hit Debuff (which can be enhanced. Mine is slotted for -17.09% To Hit Debuff) Lifegiving Spores Can be skipped as it is situational. You lay down a area that heals over time, and gives a litttle endurance over time. I can't remember how much, but every couple of seconds, you'll heal everyone in that area for a little, plus they'll gain a small amount of endurance. Decent for AV/GM fights that will drag on for a bit, and possibly useful while you are leveling up. I took it for AV/GM fights, and to 5 slot it with Panacea, so I could get the global recharge bonus. Rebirth If you team, I would say they would appreciate this power if/when they get defeated. It's a rez. Or, you can use it on an ally (or pet) as another Heal over time. Entangling Aura Personally, I like this power. Some don't. It's a toggle, and anyone that comes within it has a chance to be Held. It's only a Mag 2 Hold, so you won't Hold bosses, but if any minions come near you, then they'll likely be held. It can be slotted with the Lockdown: Chance for +2 Mag Hold, which would give you a lot better chance of holding stronger opponents. There's also Neurotic Shutdown: Chance for Psi damage and Ghost Widow's Embrace: Chance for Psi Damage IOs that can be slotted in it if you want. (I slotted 5 pieces of Unbreakabke Constraint in it, mainly for the Recharge Bonus). I ALWAYS take the Leadership Pool on my MMs. Maneuvers, Assault, and Tactics. Nature loves recharge, so take Hasten. If you have any other questions, by all means ask. The Forums are chock full of very savvy/intelligent players that are usually more than happy to help. @StrikerFox is one of the gurus. Feel free to PM me if you want. And again, Welcome to Paragon!

Fixed.

I rolled a thugs/Empathy. She helped "save" the Thugs by witnessing to them. Now they help her "clean up" Paragon.

Yes, I have a Bio/Staff and it is awesome.

I believe this is my most current build. Tanker - Bio Armor - Radiation Melee cap def.mbd

Forgive me it's been 20 years since I played. Mutation/Blaster build

What are your powersets? -
Nice! Gotta love another damage aura!
-
Appreciate that @PLVRIZR. I've respecced and tested Jon Deere, my Bio/Rad, so many times it's ridiculous . My current build has softcapped S/L/F/C/E/NE defense while in Offensive. The other night I was running 50+4 missions with some friends and would jump in a mob and /em newspaper. Was hilarious as I would flip through the newspaper, not take damage, and my 2 damage auras would slowly melt them. Once went to Monster Island in PI by myself. Was awesome tanking a couple of Monsters. Bio has one weakness, and that's defense debuffs. I mean, come on. Even Superman has 1 weakness. And I'm ok with that. It is the most versatile, most durable primary power for tanks. Stone can be built to be pretty f'n awesome also...without granite.
