I hate the pop-up when you enter missions.
Please give me an option to disable those.

There is precedent for it. Remember when level 53 Hami-O enhancements were added to the game in Page 1? Quite a few people who were away while the page was in testing came back later to find billions of INF they had stashed away in the black market were gone.Doing something stupid in the past isn't a good reason to do it again. It's a warning to not repeat it.

Actually using empyrean for merits is really one of the least effective uses for them. And as @Myrmidonmentioned, I and will speculate further, that more uses for empyrean are on the way.
Then why remove it.
And please explain 100 RM in 25 minutes completely solo.

I'm a solo player, so reward merits don't flow like water to me.
I will just farm incarnate salvage the usual ways, and if I need empyreans, choose those instead. This is all assuming they stop screwing the solo player, but we'll see about that.

just enjoying the game, which is what this is all about in the first place.
I enjoy the game by being able to acquire Empyrean merits by the current methods and converting them into Reward Merits.

Tinpex, Itrials, Dark astoria story missions, Weekly tfs, all are the main ways I craft T4s (From actual drops from the reward tables instead of e merits mostly). Using Vet merits for T4s is kinda expensive.
If reward merits are so easy to come by, and converting Empyreans are inefficient, why are you supporting the change?
If this is a bad way to get reward merits, leave it in place and target the actual problem.

The arguments I have read against this change include, "you just made my stockpile of wealth..." Which, unwittingly, provides clear proof that a change to null is necessary. A massive amount of stockpiled potential currency entering the economy will destabilize it.
You need to read more then. The people who support this change are the rich ones.
Us poor people want the conversion to stay somehow.

As you might imagine, those of us who are relatively new (and thus don't already have massive piles of Emp merits with which to craft Incarnate abilities for our alts) would be... less than thrilled with this solution.
For that matter, forget alts, I still don't have T4 on all slots on the two 50's I already have!
Thank you for showing there are new people that this change punitively targets, as has been mentioned.
The only people ok with this change are the existing oligarchy. Who cares what they think when all they want is to keep everyone else off their level.

I’d say 10 per day would be very reasonable. That gives you 1 ATO per day (for example) if you have the extra emps and want to go that route. This doesn’t seem game breaking, to me.
That's a good idea.

It seems like we're never going to get an explanation, so onto my actual feedback.
This change is overly punitive to solo players and new players/characters.
Solo players aren't doing these trials and are losing access to their form of empyrean to reward exchange. You've replaced that with nothing.
New players/characters will not have the ability to generate these resources at the rate you've allowed people to for 3 years. The old guard retains all the wealth, and the new aren't given equal access.
These changes only benefit old players who are part of exlusive grouping end game tasks and punish and alienate every one else.
Please do not make these changes.

AFK farmers can earn 91 billion inf a week. This is pretty bad.
We were asked not to discuss other topics.
AFK farming has no bearing on these reward changes. If it did, this thread wouldn't exist and we'd be talking about ways to remove afk farming.

Seriously? The first beta build had vet experience removed from AE, the second build restored that but removed Empyrean/Astral Merit conversion to reward merits. Vet levels give free Empyreans. Surely you must be able to hazard a guess at what they're getting at.
Yes, they want Empyrean merits to do nothing except exchange into Incarnate Salvage.
But why? Why now? What's it breaking?

With all the demands for explanation, I take it you’re prepared to *accept* the explanation?
Not blindly, no. There's no good faith suggestion anyone can make without understanding what the problem is.
No one can.
No problem = no solution.
Conversion on cooldown is at least less punitive, but currently we have no idea why the devs want this except to punish the existing and future players.

Your request is to allow an EMP to 10 Reward Merits conversion once every 18 hours per character?
Why would it need a cooldown? It currently has no cooldown and you've provided no explanation for why the change needs to be made.
Perhaps if you explain your logic, we might know what to suggest.

Still waiting for the explanation of why this change needs to happen.
Why is the occasional exchange of empyrian to reward so game breaking that it needs removal?

What are you talking about man? You think this is the only means of making money in this game? I have 100+ characters that are purpled to the teeth and have never done this type of conversion once.
Yes, you are the problem.
These changes are meaningless to you because you already have infinite wealth.
These changes hinder everyone new from achieving the same.

We can probably look at adding Reward Merits to those arcs, but how many they get would be based on the datamined median completion time like all other story arc content.
Are you trying to get people to quit the game?

Notice that there's still no explanation from the Devs for why this is a problem that has to be obliterated.

I never use Emp Merits for Reward Merits.
I have 10s of thousands of merits saved up anyway.Well you're in luck, Mr Rockefeller. You get to cash those in now for infinite Reward Merits, whereas anyone new will ever have the chance to make that level of wealth since all means of obtaining it are being removed.

Another "the rich get richer" change whose only impact is on a giant negative one on new characters/players.
Extremely bad idea.

Personally, I am OK with 5 hours being too fast and OK with 40 hours.
Are you completely disconnected from the modern video game/gamer? 40 hours is an entire game. That's what you want the cost to just reaching max level on a single character to be? And reaching max level isn't even close to reaching an end point on a character.
I can get 4 characters to max level in WoW in 40 hours, and that's a game from the same old-timey space as this one.
Your position is just out of touch.

Eh. Farmers will still farm and supply the marketeers with the raw materials they use to make their fortunes playing at conversion bingo, rather we're doing it in AE or on Council Earth. This isn't going to be the end of an affordable marketplace.
Supply slows down which makes prices go up. Simultaneously, wealth building also slows down and can't cover new higher prices demanded of the trillionaires. Old players stop trying. New players never appear.
- 2
-
The nerf-AE side's main point is that it is necessary because it's bad for the long term of the game. Do you know what makes the game more impenetrable to new players in the future? An oligarchy of trillionaires that control every aspect of the market that they can never even hope to crack into.
Farms are what make IOs available at the price they are. You're going back to trading around billions off-market for things if you remove them.
You can't charge enormous prices now because you'll never sell when people have farms to get it on their own.
