I've only ever PvPd in LIVE and as a Tanker. I'd like to dip back into the arena and was considering a ranged build. I'm looking at Sentinal just because I'm not careful enough to keep a blaster alive. I'm thinking of combining Dark Blast with Super Reflexes, and focusing my IOs toward endurance and rate of fire. Beat their Accuracy down to nothing and just pelt them to death while they flail blindly at the darkness. Viable build? Anyone tried it before?

I'm usually a tanker. I've been wanting to make a ranged character but blasters are just so squishy. I was looking at synergies and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with Dark Blast/Super Reflexes It would seem like one could have a nearly unhittable character with the combination of the two. Would this be a Viable PvP strategy? Keep my opponents accuracy low and my defense high, build for accelerated attack rate and just pepper them with darkness. Thoughts?

I have My late game plan for RttC to have 3 triage & 3 Numinas for the health and regen. I may have to double up on the Taunt/Voke and just spam. It's EM/WPR, so I don't have a ranged attack outside of Taunt.

Sorry, I was busy playing the game. I'll put more effort into skipping it all in the future.

All I've seen are faceroll lazy grinds. Feel free to direct me toward one of these missions with Content. I'd love to try one. Perhaps AE suffers from a similar problem as YouTube. There is likely a lot of good content in there. But unfortunately its buried under and endlessly growing pile of unfiltered garbage. Is there a way to delineate farmrolls from actual missions in the AE search function?
-
Who's Matt Miller? also, You aren't missing anything. Enter Zone, Giant weeny storm, level with zero effort and no chance of failure, rinse repeat until you have 10 level 50s.

You clearly haven't experienced the same community I did. I'd expect that kind of attitude in WoW, but I always found CoH to be quite welcoming. No one is telling you the "right" way to play. You can run that treadmill until you're hearts content. You do you. What I'm saying is I remember finding parties to play through the content with, until AE showed up and most players stopped playing the actual game and running the loot treadmill. I dislike AE, in my game AE does more damage than good to the community.
-
I've had a distaste for AE since it was introduced in Live. CoH is still a great game, but it was a better game before AE took the community out of the game and piled everyone into power level grind fests. I only step foot in that building for the tutorial quest. AE sucks.

it can help my tanker with those ranged guys.

Does Teleport Foe work in PvP?
-
for a Willpower tank, since they have such a crap taunt aura, would it be worth taking both Taunt and Provoke and having both in my rotation?
-
Would a storm/beam be viable? the knockdown from the beam and knockback from the storm seem like they'd be fun together, anyone try it?

I'm a huge fan of Ice armor but I don't like Ice Melee(The Ice swords bug me), I had an Ice/Stone on Live that I'm kind of rebuilding, but i'm thinking of changing the Stone melee to another thing. I'm looking at Martial Arts just because a big giant teddy bear doing roundhouse kicks entertains me, but I don't know how effective that set is or if I should be looking elsewhere. I'm thinking of focusing on the characters attack speed for enhancements and endurance to feed the fast attacks. Is Martial arts an ok power to pair with Ice Armor?

That was my fascination with the regen build. My goal is to heal faster than you can deal damage, all the time, passively. I can't remember the % but I know my old Wpr/SS was almost there, he was super obnoxious in the Arena, lol. I'd like to do the same with something that holds hate better. My Bio/Elec is still under lvl 20, so I have a lot of building to do but I think I'm moving in the right direction. I wish Ice Armor had a passive regen power, I love Ice armor, but cant get the passive regen as high with it.
-
I settled on Bio/Elec because of the variety of sets that could be slotted for regen, In time I hope to have every slot as part of a set for the bonus regen.
-
I'm going to be slotting sets to increase the passive regen as much as possible, just needed to know which power set to start with. My original Wpr/SS build sucked at DPS and hate retention. Since his enhancement will be hyper focused on regen as opposed to taunts and damage would Bio be better at general hate retention? I want to have the awesome regen I did in OGCoH, but I acknowledge the flaws of my prototype and want to make him the perfect tanker this time around, so I gotta pull hate better. After examining the power sets, and available set modifications, and considering my need to keep hate, I'm looking at Bio/Electric for the final immortal build. He'll be the most obnoxious thing I can put into the Arena.
-
I'm considering reconstructing my tanker(Currently Wpr/SS), When I built him in OG CoH, Bio and Rad weren't powers yet. Of these three armor powers, Bio, Willpower, Radiation, Which one can achieve the highest passive regeneration before enhancements? I notice that all three have a passive regen boost power, but i'm not sure which of the three is best or if they're all equal. Could anyone offer advice please?
-
I'll have to get back into MIDS and remember what all the +Regen% combo Enhancements that could be slotted for taunt are. Everything slotted on the original character gave a combo bonus to regen or health, sometimes both. I can't wait to restore him and get him back into the arena. Can't one shot me? This fight is going to take a while, hehehehe.

That makes me insanely happy. thank you to whoever is responsible for Homecoming. I love you all.

The year is 2005, I'm playing a Tanker, Willpower/Super Strength. He did crap DPS, he had no taunt power. But he was nigh invulnerable. I had stacked regen sets to an obscene level, at the cost of all else. I'd like to rebuild something with a similarly staggering Regen that requires a one hit kill to take him down. But this time I want him to be better at keeping hate. I was wondering how the Bio armor powers stack up versus Willpower for passive regeneration, defense, and keeping hate? Those were the only two tanker primes that directly affected passive regen I think. Also, For his attack Power, I like SS, it did the job back in the day but I wasn't sure if another Melee choice would be more in line with keeping hate. He doesn't even have to do a lot of damage. I want him to keep hate and regenerate fast enough to live through anything. Should I take Taunt and Provoke both? The rest of the party can make the kill. I'd love some advice from a player with experiences in paragon younger than a High school sophomore.

Is Homecoming a real return to Paragon or is it still something we don't talk about outside of the game in order to prevent it from gaining too much attention and drawing down a C&D?
-
i'll have to look at those new powers. If I remember correctly from my intense 3 year life in Paragon some 15 years ago, I had looked over the powersets and the Invention sets that would fit the various powers. I then calculated how many sets/partial sets I could fit for maximum effect in each power (It was a lot of number crunching) And the power combo that had the most compoundable Regen% buffs was Wpr/SS, I'm not sure my old version even had rage, his purpose was not to deal damage. He is to annoy the enemy and not die, the blasters can make the kill. I haven't taken a deep dive into Bio, i think i noticed it had a regen boost power as well which would lend itself. I'm a bit OCD about things like this and am genuinely looking for the Maximum passive regeneration possible within the constrains of the programming, lol.
-
I can't remember how high I had gotten mine. I remember it was ridiculous. I could fight some AVs solo, but my DPS was too low to kill them alone, lol. They'd just Pound on me and I them, locked in an eternal stalemate. Rebuilding from the ground up is going to take some solid action math.
-
good to know, then Taunt it is.
-
I Do remember that I didn't have taunt for the original build because there were no Inventions for the taunt powers that gave Regen % boosts. The character did suffer for it in PvE. I may be willing to sacrifice a few regen % to fit in either Taunt or Provoke. His DpS was crap because he was so heavily focused on regen. I think I'm going to wedge in Provoke and Jump kick to keep hate. The character is nigh invulnerable, he just needs to keep the hate.
