I Want to start a static. I have no real consideration for party balance or DPS competitions. Play what you want. I just wanna run through the actual content with a group of Chill Dudes and Dudettes. Voice Comms would be preferred. We'd make a character dedicated to the static and only level them together. We'd assemble each Sunday evening, 3-7pm EST, I'm in Georgia(?) The downtime between games will be for leveling, crafting, and shopping so that we don't bog down game times. I'm thinking Torchbearer for the server because of the lighter load. Whether Hero, Villain, or Praetorian remains to be decided by the players, Vote in your reply. The first game would be building, discussing, and running the tutorial, more if there's time. Who's down to play a regular game?

How do you feel about Sundays?

I made a post about this a few days ago and there were a couple of interested parties so I thought I'd make a detailed official recruitment post. Static: (N) A group of characters who only level as a group during the designated time. (vaguely) We'd only gain experience during the designated times as a group. Downtime between games can be used for all the crafting and commerce so we're not having any session where everyone has to stop and buy stuff. Times: Friday or Sunday nights(Based on which has the most available players), 3pm-6ish(Depends on how we feel) pm EST. Server: I was thinking one of the lower population servers. I may be wrong but I think Torchbearer is often on a light load. Chat: We'd use Discord for voice comms. I have a server for TMNT that I can offer up for this. Goal: To run the content at a regular pace. At least be able to read the paragraphs and watch the tiny cut scenes. I'm not looking for a speedrun smash and grab experience. Totally fine with being efficient, I just don't care about run times and dps outputs. I also don't want to AE power level. Characters: The character you bring to the group should be your character for the static until we all reach level 50. I don't think the players should discuss their characters before making. I wanna see what kind of chaos gets slopped into the mix. Not at all looking for a balanced party. If it ends up being all defenders, we'll be fine. all Masterminds might crash a few computers though. My only request is to make everyone laugh. The characters should be funny in some way(Not offensive, this is a family show). Make Memes if you want. Streaming: I don't plan to unless I get a good hardware upgrade but if anyone in the group wanted to I wouldn't object. Any interested parties just reply below. We can arrange a first session time and get everyone invited to the discord once we have enough players(I'm thinking 4 would be a fine place to start). We can spend the time leading up to tutorial day deciding what kind of jokes we will make.

A Static for leisure and a bit of the absurd.

That's fair. Once We figure out the server, you could still make a toon for the SG and play if you ever had the opportunity if you so desired. -

MY thoughts thusfar I can do pretty much any one day of the week. The best hours for me would be some block of time between 3pm-9pm EST(Georgia). I wouldn't want to run more than 3-4 hours in any single session. As for number of Players, I guess it wouldn't matter. We can always add more over time. With the level matching we can power up a newbie. Streaming: I don't plan to but if someone did want to record, I wouldn't care. Discord for voice chat. We'd play the same character every time, and only play that character with the group. We'd progress through the content, as many regular missions and plot lines as possible at a digestible pace. Not speed running but just being heroes at a heroes pace. More Luke Cage, Less Barry Allen. Pretty much any character would work. I'm not worried about a "balanced party". If we end up with a mighty horde of defenders, so be it. My only Caveat to that is, it would be awesome if the characters were funny. They don't have to be, but the universe really wants them to be. What server would this work best on? Anyone wanna hash out the details? -
I want to put together a static party, a group that convenes at certain times and only levels the member character with the group. Kind of like doing a D&D thing. The group would communicate via discord voice. ie Every Sunday these five characters log on from 3-7 to go through the content but not speedrunning everything. Absentees don't matter as much because we can level adjust to keep people from getting left behind if they have to miss. My mind keeps suggesting a group of all Tankers/Brutes with damage auras cranked to maximum just walking around letting things fall down around them as they look for clues. But that's just me, I'm silly. I'd love to see a bunch of B-tier characters, a Mystery Men type of group. I'm looking for a leisure, not anxiety. Anyone else thing this sounds like fun?

Thank you, This is the reason I don't accept random group invites. I'm not in a hurry. I want to put a static of chill people just doing the normal content, no AE, just leveling and going through the game at a leisurely pace. 5 tanks heavily focused on their damage auras just walking around overlapping them and passively killing everything nearby while they discuss the fall flavors.

I had a Static for a while back in my FFXI days. It was a blast. Get everyone turn on their local mics and be Heroes! I'd be interested in putting one together, actually crafting a team built together for effect, and then scheduling a weekly block.
-
Would anyone, any server, be interested in forming a Static team for weekly voice gaming?

I'm a fairly recent return and am still getting back into the ebb and flow of an MMO community. I was thinking it might be cool to get into a static party. Do RPers do Statics?
-
I was trying to move items around and somehow dragged a wall into the room giveing me too many corners and I hate technology. Is there a reset for the bases? How the F am I making the floors rise and fall, I DON"T WANT THAT TO HAPPEN!! AAAAGGGGGHHHHHH

The build doesn't heal. It has passive healing amped to a ridiculous degree so active healing isn't needed. It works as a SS/WP Brute. I was getting around 130hp per tick. It just had the drawback of being Melee. I want to build a ranged version now that Sentinels are a thing, but sentinels don't have SS, so I/m trying to figure which power I can slot the most passive regen/hp set boosts into.

Many Moons ago before the Dark ages fell and the homecoming renaissance restored the light, I tried my hand at PvP. I used a SS/WP Brute. It was a long fight because of my build but a big enough nuke to one shot me from the fire blaster ended it. He DMd me and complimented me on how hard my build was to kill. The thing that saved him was his range advantage. But now we have sentinels. I wanted to make a proper PvP sentinel using the same /WP secondary and rebuild the character as a sentinel. I was curious as to how a "I heal faster than you kill" strategy is and what would be a good ranged power to pair with it? I considered Energy Blast to try and focus a lot on knockback to give me a precious second here and there to top off my hp. Anyone else like to play this style, got any ideas?

I've been pursuing a build since OG CoH. I want to make a character that Has the required Invention build to max out passive regen, Back in the day I had a SS/WP tanker that was at 135 per tick. But he had a few more sets to finish when the game went down. Since then a few more powersets have come out and I'm not sure if Sentinel would be a better base for the build. Do any of you guys have a Maxed passive regen build? Any suggestions on the best build to make this happen with? I went with WP over Regen the first time because I could get more per tick consistently, whereas regen would have been better for burst healing. i was going for a "Never has to heal" tank. Thoughts?

I like Ice because you can change the Stoe aesthetics to Crystral snd color it to match the ice stuff.
-
Oh! Cool. A friend of mine has been trying to convince me to stream FFXIV, which is fun, but it's no CoH. I'd totally rather stream this game.
-
It's been a while since I've logged in, more than a year. I remember there being some dispute about streaming. If I remember correctly, the devs didn't want the attention. I totally get that. I have no complaints about that. I just wondered, in the intervening time since I logged on last, has streaming become acceptable yet?

So when I hit 50 for the first time this week, what should I do first? I've not done any of the task forces, i wanted to save them for late game merits and incarnate stuff(I think?) What are my priorities as a newly minted lvl 50?
-
I don't know if I'm making this up, or if it's a real memory from when I played in live. I thought there was a way to manipulate your characters level so that you could run low level content with your level nerfed to the proper level. Is this possible or am I making it up?
-
Can we get the CoT a Lighting Budget? I've had to log out of the same mission 3 times because I cant find the exit in the black void that is CoT tunnels. I'd be fine if I had a flashlight.
-
I no longer have the build but I had one of those back in Live and LOVED it.
-
I was thinking Dark as well because it will make them miss me. Every time they miss me is a tick of regen of a ton of HP.
-
I've been playing a water/rad I made the toon just to have a funny toon, but now I'm loving the power combo and will definitely be taking him to 50.

I'm working on a Willpower Tank right now, a weird labor of love ive been trying to complete since Live. I have been stacking every possible, available +regen boost from IO sets, regen at the cost of all things. The tank I did this with in Live was pretty obnoxious in the arena, very hard to kill, long fights. I think I want to do something similar with a sentinel. If I were going to do this with full passive regeneration in mind I'd go Willpower again, my attack would have to be rad, being able to 2 slot analyze weakness for 10% regen in every attack is nice. But if I were to ease off a little and just pick the best attack power for PvP, I'm not sure which way I'd go. I like the idea of Dark because, as a total passive regen build, making my enemies miss gives me more ticks between hits. So it's really between rad and dark. Make me harder to hit or make them easier to hit, tough call.
