Can you post a screen shot of your build? Can't open the links. Thanks 🙂

Everyone i've come across on the forums plays poison differently. This might not be the play style you’re looking for. Seems everyone has there own unique set up for this set.  But I also have a god mode build I can show you as well if you want a more in depth dive into what you can do. Hope this helps you.  This set up I have fights like a melee hero. Very aggressive and fast. If you want to see it in action msg me @hops in game or if you have questions please ask =).

I agree with kiramon.  Poison doesn't get that much mileage out of other alphas.  I'd rather have infinite endurance to debuff everything with.

You'd be surprised what you can squeeze out of alphas. Minimaxing is key. I do run Cardiac for the most part as well but its fun to theory craft and see different results

You need your head examined then if you think that lol. For a set with a VERY tiny aoe debuff outside of it, and zero defenses or mez protection, compared to any other support set it will constantly get mezzed off when you need it, and draws unnecessary aggro for a set that has no way to really defend itself or heal back from the damage that it takes as a result.

Ah man you're missing out. That's what Rads for, to stand back. The gameplay it brings is insanely fun. I recommend reading the poison guide that was created by @Frosticus under guides. It really clears up a lot of concerns you may have about being mez'd and how to work around that. Its such a great read.

Poison definitely needs help. A big part is one to let us slot holds into NB, increase the radius of it's debuffs, and change the tier 9 to not be a pbaoe toggle which is horrible on a set with no self defenses or mez protection, and instead a ranged location based power.

Keep the toggle. Its perfect the way it is. PLEASE DON'T TOUCH MY BB. the toggle is the best part of the set

  5. When I was first building poison I tried to get crazy DEF with it. And I did notice the shots that got through really hurt. And slotting for DEF really hurt my DMG output and my recharge as well. And after reading your guide (super helpful). I learned a little bit. I personally wanted to maintain some DEF cause its still another way to avoid dmg but I also wanted some RES as well this time around. I'm not a one for long recharges so I can't see my self taking Rune of Protection and I can't do fly with my ADD its to slow for me. I was able to build for team and solo play. Having rez and veng is my idea of team play ha. And I didnt have to take mule powers for this set up. I've been hitting DMG cap in groups with just my own buffs. Its awesome.

So I have two ways I run this build.

First setup:|  For good time god mode I buy 1 temp power, DEF Amplifier for the mez protection and go with Agility/ageless + this gives me perma hasten. I have a farmer so money is easy to get for this temp. (Agility alone gives me perma hasten and Ageless is just for momentum and speed runs)

Second setup: When I don't run temps I run Cardiac/Clarion. Just a little slower but you don't really have to worry about sustain or holds with this set up. Hasten is at a 8 second down time. Still really good! You do loose the soft cap to melee and range def when you trade out Agility.

No problem. Poison is one of my favorite sets, of which I have several. 4 i think? Cor, Cor, Def, MM.

So I worked on a new build this morning to try and keep my positional defense (range/melee) with a good amount of resistance this time. If I pop 1 purple id hit 45% for Range and melee. Soul Drain is almost perma and hasten is pretty much perma or just about. . Can't say its great yet haven't play tested it. Need to farm a little to pick up the missing Enhancements. This build is a little bit more team friendly too it seems (with the rez ha). Let me know what you think. I'm trying real hard to avoid the sorcery power pool. I really don't like that set. Its just a personal preference

Doesn't matter, it's perfectly timed - so you can't avoid the hold hitting even though it'll recast immediately X_x. If you have a Hold on you and it wears off, you'll be dropping Gas, recasting Clarion while held, and recasting Gas 😞

Its just another whole in poisons weakness. This hasn't really killed my enjoyment of the set. Its minor at most. The rez from Dark epic might be fun to have then =P. All ive been playing is poison for the last month and a half and i can't stop. such a fun set. And im finding new ways every week how to play and build my guy.

Meh, clarion alone leads to sad times - as if you’re debhuffed as it falls off you’re zzZIng, which is only a big deal because gas falls off and slows you down!

It is pretty much perma if you go the left side of the tree. That part depends on the player.

You can go this route, but you will be taking almost twice as much damage as my build.  The reason for this is that you will be getting hit 10% of the time compared to 5% of the time and God help you against mezzing enemies, you'll just faceplant (you can use clarion to prevent this though). Personally I think that extra 5% is a huge deal and 100% necessary when dealing with a pairing like poison/fire because it has no way to heal and so you can't recover from any of the damage you do take. You'll do a bit more proc damage to single targets with your build, but I don't think its worth the loss in survivability. Its up to you though, if you duo or team a lot with someone who can heal I wouldn't worry about. For all around things I'd still go with my build.

I do run clarion on the cooldown so I don't have to worry about mez, and I run the 45% end reduc alpha when I solo. No end problem at all. I've been running 54+8 all morning with this set up and it'ss working fabulously.

I've tried running 45% on DEF and the dmg out put is just to slow and it comes with more end use cause it does take a few more attacks to kill things and it doesn't fit poisons theme imo. The procs really make this set shine.

Thank you again for your build though! It really helped me as a template. You rock!

I have not played with it, I just like making builds. soul drain and much more recharge should make up for the lack of procs. Poison doesn't have any +def so you have to lose procs for survivability.

I am just now learning about positional defense. It seems like a good fit for poison. I really liked your build but I new you could fit more dmg into it and added proc dmg to my 2 main attacks. My DEF is almost 45% for melee and range. Havn't played it yet. But it looks promising for a fire/poison so far. Please share more tips 😃 they are super helpful. If the 2 build up procs go off with a good soul drain I can hit dmg cap. So it says.

@Frosticus  any tips? I feel like this is a better direction

  11. This is just an example. I also wonder about melee/smashing attacks as well.

When a power says: Ranged, DMG (fire)
does this mean my rang DEF and my fire DEF work together to block this from hitting me? Or does it take from the highest of the 2 defenses?

Or is it better to just have one of the 2 at 45%
    Thank you!

  12. Never played the this set before. I was just wondering how well it performs before I sank sometime into it.

How well does the end gain you get when you attack. Noticeable?

If you mix this set with a debuff set does the dmg get better?
    And hows that pet?

Why go for typed defense when we can go for positional defense with a lot more recharge and soul drain instead? We also get soul consumption to help us with end drain, although it does have a long cd. As long as you get your accolades, I don't think end will be a problem.

Thank you for posting this! Love seeing other ideas <3!

    It looks great!
Is this a build you've played with?
I also saw you don't have to many procs in your attacks. Those help me solo bosses so fast.

  14. I'm still learning poison and theory crafting what works. I've ran soft cap melee at 32% with VG and i was still getting hit as much as 22%.

What ive learned so far with posion IMO you can go two ways.

    1. Spec for 45% S/L/E/N/R with okay sustain. I cant get as many procs with this set up but I feel Its a good balance

    2. Spec heavy on procs & good recharge: This set up is great against AV's.

I'm currently rocking the 45%. But...
I hate toggles on posion im really tempted to drop fighting and go for recharge on my guy. All the toggles just eat away at your END.
@Frosticus has a good understanding of poison. I tried to make what he had and take everything else

Outside of that, it looks good - I would just put a decimation BU proc there 😜 . I think Poison Trap still uses accuracy though so that might need 1.

Either way, Im gonna do another poison build from this... moving away from my lovely Corruptors for it this time I think... but I can't pass up sonic on a defender so I just converted it over to a Poison/Sonic, lol.

I'm not totally sold on Paralytic Poison/entomb. I'd maybe consider dropping the goal of 45% Negative in favor of getting the 8% +scaling resists, which I'm pretty sure will increase your survivability more than 2.5% Negative... probably would have to take SJ with Blessing though and move some slots to Maneuvers to bring the ranged back to 45. YMMV, maybe you're trying to use Entomb for some self preservation stuff - though I hear it is pretty good in PTrap.  Love to hear thoughts on that choice.

(Oh, and move your +max hp over to Elixir of life instead of Tough)

Okay so i updated the build. Tried to put a little bit more proc action into it. But havnt put it into play yet. Let me know what you think. Again this is with solo play in mind with ofcourse . Im not sure how good the entropic chaso's are.

Gonna change the procs out of kick. Tried it out and it just wasn't satisfying

Chances to proc only care about the attributes of the power they're slotted in, the PPM rating of the proc, and how much slotted recharge you have in that power. The type of power (e.g. single-target, AoE, toggle, patch/rain, etc.) but procs do not have different rates just because they're in a pool power versus a primary or secondary power.

    What does PPM stand for?

  17. No longer a S/L/E/N/R set up. I’ve learned the ways of the poison.

(Build is out of date) will update with  new build soon)

  18. Just one promted window not several. Like the enhancement prompted window you can disable that on the same window with no need to search the menus.
And that’s why I asked for it to have the option to disable it. For people like you. Who don’t want to be bothered.

Your ignorant response was kind of rude
