A lot of players want teams, not many want to start and manage them.
So this week try it - start a team
The easiest is to start a dfb. Lots of people want to join and you don't have to switch missions. But make sure you know how to start a dfb.
Or pick a TF you want to run or even better a great story arc.

if you just need more damage on a controller look at Arcane Bolt or Toxic Dart. Since the revamp to pool powers they both do good damage.
Toxic Dart has a very fast recharge time.
Arcane Bolt has a slower recharge but every power you activate has a chance to immediately recharge arcane bolt and give it a chance of a power boost.
I take arcane bolt with clicky controllers (like electric affinity) and toxic dart for controllers with fewer clicky powers (like force field).

The accuracy of the control power has to be worked with but if you do it is very reliable mitigation.
So the control always works if it hits? The description of "having a chance" just means if you hit?

I am trying it in game and it seems to be an aoe around the target, not just a line between you and the target.
Very little damage. Doesn't seem to reliably disorient or knockdown.
-
And that says to all targets in a 15 foot aoe. So does it do that to all enemies within 15 feet of your target? Not just the ones between you and the target?
The description in game doesn't seem to match to the numbers.

Fault says: A powerful stomp can cause a seismic disturbance. This will crack the Earth itself and send a Fault towards a targeted foe, throwing him and nearby enemies into the air and possibly Disorienting them. Fault deals no damage on its own (except Scrappers). Fault has a chance of dealing damage to foes in between you and your target (Scrappers/Stalkers only).
Fault in game lists knock and disorient and damage and additionally a chance for knock and disorient and stun.
Using it, I see damage applied to multiple enemies and some are knocked down.
It has a range of 20 feet.
So does this always disorient the target but not damage them? And it is a Mag 2 disorient - does it have a chance of a Mag 3? Or should I be targeting lieutenants with it instead of bosses?
And does it only affect other enemies between me and my target, so I need to line the shot up? How wide is the area the it affects, is it a strict line like dual pistols piercing round or is a fairly wide area?
The only comment I can find on it by google is someone saying to maybe skip it.

I will add a couple more
single target taunt exists and Victory Rush gives a buff based on the type of target (minion, lt, boss, etc.) - you could make a single target taunt that buffs the user based on the target. So if you taunt a minion you get a small buff but if you taunt an AV you get a large buff.
teleports foe exists - you could make controller teleport foes that add a control to the target or defender teleport foes that add a debuff to the target.

This is not to invent new mechanics, themes, sets, or change existing sets. This is not concrete suggestions, these are mad scientist concoctions.
But electric has a power the advances power recharge a set amount, and rezes exist - so it would be interesting to have a rez that recharged all of your power 10 minutes or so. Give you back basically all of your powers.
And burn gives the character immobilization resistance - so it would be interesting to have attacks that gave status protection for a short duration. Think blaster or defender getting 10s of hold resistance every time they attack with X power.
what combinations of existing power mechanics would you like to see?

I do pull out DDR every few months for exercise.
If I could play COH using it I would be in great shape

Some people just select a standard costume but others put a lot of time into their costumes.
So this week when you see someone with a nice costume - tell them. It doesn't have to be the greatest costume ever. You just have to like it.You can just say "nice costume" but for bonus points say something specific you like such as "nice colors" or "great use of those shoulders"

The tics are tiny damage but it lists the total damage as being large. Is the idea to slot liquid nitrogen for damage and have it be the aoe damage for the set?

Wow, CoH is behind playing fetch with your dog?

How can you be sure that was the same team? You just described about 85% of all PuGs right there. 🤪
because the leader made the comment "did Frostfire with 5 trollers once, and it took us 2.5 hours to complete the mission" on the team.
Otherwise it would just sound like a normal PUG

I asked for DPS last night (and even DAMAGE) and ended up with 5 trollers. This just doesn't work (did Frostfire with 5 trollers once, and it took us 2.5 hours to complete the mission). We ended up not getting that far last night. I ran into a room while cloaked, full of baddies and the team didn't follow. Instead they figured they could skip that room and took the elevator upstairs. This team seemed to be filled with children and I chose not to lead them anymore and logged.
So you were the leader on that team.
It must be the team I was on. It was set to +3. We did well with everyone together, but I think at every branch in the hallway it split up until there was no more than 3 people together. No one seemed to be reading the chat.

The villain groups generally have a fair amount of depth but the lore is spread out among story arcs from contacts.

I only use discord for a D&D game every other week. I don't have it running otherwise. Discord does not work well on my laptop (neither does Windows Update).
I know there is discord for CoH but I have not used it.
Do you use discord with CoH or to talk about CoH? Do you use it for voice chat, or for forums?

My crab just focused on aoe and has almost a complete chain of aoe attacks.

The sleep patch that Arsenal leaves is better than other sleeps. Since it is a patch, it's more like narcolepsy gas. They wake up, take a step and fall back asleep. I have found it very useful in a team.
I use the electric sleep which does the same thing and it is great as long as the team fights on it. It is amazing for the Posi 1 City Hall waves of ambush

Is this a contact arc - I can just go red and do the arc?

I'm not familiar with cold domination.
Originally buffs were by individual. But most that were intended to be group buffs were changed to hit an aoe.
So with speed boost I can target one player and it buffs everyone around them.
There are some buffs with longer recharge that are not intended to be used on everyone.

I really enjoy teaming with my Kin/Sonic Defender. Teams love speed boosts, and Sonic has some nice debuff for when you aren't making everyone go zoom. I never feel idle or useless with that character.
I have not made a kin/sonic yet. Sonic is my go to for defender secondaries due to the debuff. I really like my dark/sonic defender

Redside seems to be more active because everything is more active.
So now is your chance to play redside and find a team.
So try it - even if you have done it before.

You know what the best area in the game is?

The best place in the game is one of those underground places that you go to on a map and can't find the mission entrance because the way to get there is several blocks away.
