I used to use emotes more frequently back circa 2005-2009, often things like kata, batsmash and batsmashreact, Alakazam, etc.
Now a days I will occasionally use a CCE if swapping costumes makes sense for the character. I have some that have street clothes but need to suit up, a dr. Jekyll and mr. Hyde situation, or a character that essentially turns into an energy form of themselves that I often tie to the content and difficulty of the challenge I'm facing.
I have some characters that could use a CCE when they change costumes - can you share the macro you use?
-
I don't emote in real life. I didn't emote in CoH, but someone posted a macro for an emote and I had a goal of picking an emote for each of my characters. I didn't. But for awhile I was picking them.
My Lost character begs.
Bond, Atomic Bond, mixes drinks
my Trolls flex
my Tsoo do kata
So what emotes do you use and do you macro them to your character?

I just turn off XP at level 19 when the game is still fun and challenging.

I like those touches. But it is weird to come upon Lost being arrested and then attacking them and beating them up.

I'm also rather fond of the scarf option under capes, and combat boots, smooth.
Do you make an alternate costume which is the same except with the goggles pushed up on the forehead?

There are so many costume pieces. Some are very generic and some are very specific. Unless I am making a firefighter I cannot find a use for the firefighter helmet.
So what are your go to costume pieces that you use on a lot of characters and what pieces do you love but can't find an excuse to use them?

I don't like the incarnate system.
I don't enjoy the end-game content.
I tire of this long before level 49.
Most of my characters have XP turned off at level 19. I find the teen levels to be the best part of CoH

The characters that are the most "dead" to me are my 50's. I'm not going to making any more 50s. When I get to 49, I have been turning the xp off.
Is that a mental thing about 50 or a game mechanic?

I am currently working way through all my alts, spending a month on one alt.
Trying to get as far as I can build-wise, badges, incarnates, etc.
I tough it out...no matter how bad/tough it gets
So you tough it out for a month - not a particular level or achievement?
Why a month?

People are clearly leaving - My global friends list has a lot of people who never log on anymore.
But the population seems to be fairly stable overall.

In character creation do you abandon if you cannot come up with a costume or name you like?
How many levels do you go before you decide a character isn't for you?
When you abandon a character do you delete it, or just leave it now that we have 1,000 slots?
Do you expect to go back to old characters or once you move on are the old ones dead to you?

For Posi 1 run an elec/psi dominator.
Static Field is fantastic for the stairs ambush in the final mission. They come out of the door and fall asleep.
Psi damage is great for clockwork and everything else.
And domination and Paralyzing Blast make the shadow fight trivial. You hold them all for a short while and can use Tesla Cage to hold some of them longer.
OR
Just run an elect/thermal controller for any teaming to make it go smoothly.

Often its shows tat I can miss some details on while distracted by the game and vice versa.
I tend to have an old sitcom on in the background since those don't require seeing what is going on.
I tried watching ST:TNG but the visuals of it matter too much.

You sit down to play CoH...
Where are you sitting? At a desk, in a reclining chair, in a hammock?
Are you alone, ignoring your family, with a pet?
Headphones, speaker, no sound?
Do you have the tv on, music, silence?
Do you play for 30 minutes, 6 hours, one arc?

For Masterminds, the question's going to be "How active do you want to be?" I know some folks love it. For me, a bots/FF nearly bored me off the entire AT because I felt like an observer. If I were to run another /FF mastermind, I'd probably do something like pick a melee set of pets and plan on the fighting pool - for the attacks - to have something to do.
I have learned to skip the fighting pool attacks. Toxic Dart from the experimentation pool does good DoT with a recharge of 4 seconds.
Taking just Toxic Dart gives me a fairly constant attack chain with controllers with just that, the single target immob and single target hold.

You can do missions as you level or pick them up later with Oroboros.
Do you have a preference? Do you use Oroboros to do missions you missed?
I don't see many people teaming using Oroboros missions - is that something you would do?
-
I want the variety of the missions and there are some fun arcs, but it feels like half or more of the missions I get are street sweeps. And not just street sweeps - go to PP and hunt 20 Hellions or some other mission that is not right for my level and solo.
A generic hunt hellions I don't mind so much. I can just find lower level ones and get through it. But going to the zone with the reactor and trying to hunt some enemy type is just such a pain.
I am sure no one has ever expressed their frustration with this, so I thought I would be bold and speak up.

You get clues to read during an arc. You get souvenirs at the end of an arc to keep forever.
Do you care about souvenirs? Do you read them? Would you do something to make them better?
And which are your favorites?

Here's when the seasons officially start and end according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a department of the U.S. Federal Government. That makes it official.
https://www.noaa.gov/education/resource-collections/climate/changing-seasons
You will note the link is for "meteorological seasons" and "astronomical seasons". Which use different definitions and dates.
I absolutely agree that there is a definition for "meteorological seasons" and "astronomical seasons". There is not a definition for "seasons".
You have to specify which definition you are using.

Bare hands is an option and there is the ability to choose a pattern on them.
It would be great if "fingernails" was a pattern. You could choose a color and have painted fingernails, or just do white and have some fingernails

The official first day of winter is 23rd December......
I would love to see a link to where there is an official first day of winter.
Seasons are just common usage. Officially there are years, months, and days - but there are no official seasons. At least as far as I know of.
Anyone have a link to a declaration of what is "officially" winter?
