  1. The channel Everlasting TFs may be your best bet.
  2. Figured I'd attempt some sort of writeup for Martial Combat here, in case people here haven't played this powerset since the i24 beta years ago (like me). To preface, Martial Combat is all about style. Many of the animations used are from a mishmash of other sets, like Ninjitsu and Martial Arts (obviously). Pair this with Dual Pistols (do choose the "No Redraw" power customization option, please) and you will look like you have stepped out of some terrible Hollywood adaptation of a John Woo-style "heroic bloodshed" movie, directed by some overly-excited green dude that grew up on martial arts flicks like Shaolin vs. Lama or Bloodsport. Or something vaguely similar. Ki Push Single-target melee knockback attack. Uses the "Quick Strike" animation from Kinetic Melee. It's a mandatory power pick, but it's a really good mandatory power pick. On hit, it simultaneously delivers an unenhanceable mag 4 repel and an unenhanceable mag 4 hold for two seconds, and an enhanceable knockback that kicks in after those two seconds. Pop some critter with this, and you're (usually) free to hit him with anything you want. Like, say, an Executioner's Shot or some Piercing Rounds. Storm Kick Single-target melee knockdown attack, with fairly high chances of lethal DoT. Despite its name, this power uses the superior animation from the Vorpal Judgement Incarnate power. Hits pretty hard, but is ultimately skippable. Reach for the Limit Auto power, provides chance for +DMG and +ToHit. Unenhanceable. This is basically Martial Combat's Build Up, and I'm honestly not that big of a fan. Oh, sure, it's great when it triggers, but I feel that the whole "chance for Build Up" deal is best handled by a certain IO. It's unenhanceable. Burst of Speed Location-based teleport PBAoE melee attack. 200 foot range. As the tooltip states, you can use it up to three times before it needs to recharge. If you're going to train this power, immediately set this power's customization FX to "Bright" and change the colors to your costume's two primary colors, for ultimate style points. Dragon's Tail PBAoE melee attack. High chance of knockdown. 10 enemies max. It's... literally just Dragon's Tail. If you've played Martial Arts on one of the melee ATs, you know exactly what this is for. If you haven't? You basically make like the Karate Kid and sweep everyone's legs. Personally, I found it skippable. Reaction Time Toggle, foe slow and Recharge debuff, self +absorb and +recovery (while active), self travel speed and recharge buff upon deactivation. Do you see that build in the OP? Do you see where I, in my infinite wisdom, skipped this power? Don't do that. Don't ever be a smoothbrain like I was and sleep on this power. Take this power at level 20 and enjoy having END for days. The +Absorb is also great for taking small fire from minions, and I won't argue about the foe -recharge. Do note that the aura does draw aggro, and turning it on roots you for about two seconds. Toggling this power off will give you a nice +Recharge and travel speed buff for about ten seconds. One final note: This power takes, among others, accurate healing IO sets, so if you want to slot the Touch of the Nictus and Theft of Essence proc IOs in here, you have the option. Inner Will Self heal, self mez protection + resist, self +status effect boost Now you, too, can unlock your Inner Will™ just like the late Statesman, all by training in this power at level 26! It's basically a free Break Free with a dumb animation, and on a base three-minute cooldown. There's also a weak Power Boost-like +status component that sadly doesn't increase as you level. If you're going to use this as a self heal (please don't), be aware that it only becomes usable when you're at half health, half END, and/or mezzed. Throw Sand Short-ranged conical AOE, spreads out at a 45 degree angle for 40 feet. Mag 3 stun, -90% Perception. Throw Sand has a-friggin-bysmal accuracy (base 0. 8) , a hefty END cost at 20, and a base 90 second recharge time. However, it is crowd control. I originally skipped this for """""""concept""""""" purposes (I initially couldn't justify having Pocket Sand™ on me at all times), so I can't really tell you how this works outside of the hard numbers. Hah. I said "hard." Eagle's Claw Single-target melee attack, foe stun, -Range, -recharge It's... it's just Eagle's Claw, except that it carries some serious range and recharge debuffs. For those that haven't touched Martial Arts, it's basically a flying kick from those goofy-ass live-action special effect shows; something in the style of (except without the "nuking an entire city" part). It comes out slow. You will be locked for most of the animation. But it looks cool, and in my opinion, there is nothing more satisfying than downing a critter with a well-placed . I'm going to end this with a data chunk for my current "wishful freakin' thinking" build. It should be a marginal improvement over whatever the hell I posted initially. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1487;674;1348;HEX;| |78DA6594D96F125114C6EFB0144BC1022D5B296529D85A04C1567D34A955532D155| |BF5954CCA484727CC8425D147FF03E38B495735AE31F12F727D73ABFAE29A183C70| |BEB60426697F77BE33E7BBE7DCCBBDF99B738E97E76E9F1292F3B426D76AC559FA5| |F57AAB645B9DEA8CA9AA0A77FB65129AFEA9AAADBE82D842F8A4B72A5AC9432730D| |592B16D45A5DD76A89DDD872C330F46A3D9397AB7595E279B9A21A0D4DAEAB7A453| |80ABAAE651614D9502B6567FB25AF94D415B5A20CEE864A4AB5B6AA1AF6F6FBB2A1| |2825CF19435DC99CD5AB2B0AD9B566B915A07226E92FE812789A56F19090B308D30| |3A6658BD9B7C9746C33C7EE335D89BD5C2146581B213F097E52B71FF2FAE0E380FF| |18FCFDB44666F89927591B253F6BDBB0D90CD3D8066FDB7B733B7EE01DF896697F0| |3BE668EBF627AA8D67EF8F8C86480C7D280576AC773FFE8356C11018A3939269C31| |AE214CDA20EA1A4CB016A15ADCA8C58D3E3DE8D3837E86D1DF70D7BAF9C86308B94| |35778FEF1ABCCC46570195C624E5C6246A8162F72BD21F85DE4986F9119B800E6E1| |5D60DE490AE1471FFE14E746A98F20FC82C74CBC87D3E00C73F4387882193BC9F45| |31F21E48676789DD35FC04FCCA39FC18FE007A69BFA08639DC3D88318D512815F64| |9BBF8B6E81EBE01A33B6016E3287C82FCE7ED6F873AE6FEA29F3C813F019F898997| |EC40C521F49CC9BBCC1EB72E83A780D2C33275641157BEAE273D4CA9DFCCB7E87FF| |80BFC0DFA8E727F883F9824A4F613F52588361EA23032D032D4E5A96355316FB96E| |BE2A8A5F72CC65A1A7EF3539DF1263D22DBA3E47A94E91E65A64759D89F858E1877| |56B0ECDD02424285FDAEBDD3DDDCB1531C39529AE3DFF63593749E061374C3CC833| |8755F3BF370437CEFCCBBC7F31FBC0B46F99B353AAA56CCBDDE31DE70EFDF2EFF01| |AB57E28F| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  3. As someone currently leveling a Pistols/Martial Blaster, I think I can toss in a few words. You're generally right in assuming that it's a "utility" set, especially with the way Reach for the Limit works; for burst, I wanna say... Energy might be better? Reaction Time. Take it at 20 and never look back. This should be obvious, but it wasn't to me, since I was unaware of the i24 "sustain" power changes. Accurate Healing IOs can be slotted into this power, so if you want to add those two proc IOs, feel free. Inner Will. I'm not too fond of this power; specifically, the animation and its cooldown time. I've only really been using it as a free Break Free every now and then. The 50% self +mez effect boost is great, but it will never improve with your combat level, and Inner Will's restrictive activation conditions means that you can't use this as you can with Power Boost from Energy Manipulation. Eagle's Claw. It's slow. But that recharge and range debuff is nothing to sleep on. Plus, its stun will stack with Throw Sand and your own T9 primary's stun component. Like you, I skipped a lot of the powers. I couldn't find any room in my current build to fit Throw Sand in, and I rarely use its melee powers outside of Ki Push and Eagle's Claw. That said, Ki Push is really good, in my opinion. Quite possibly my favorite Tier 1 power out of all the Blaster secondaries. And this post just reminded me that I should probably update my own build topic here.
  4. I have my main and my one alt's boxes set up as bad business cards / fliers advertising their "detective" "agency". If people want to act on that information, I'm cool with that; I mean, that's what advertising is for, right? Then again, I'm more of a "non-alcoholic beverage and pretzels" guy and actively avoid player-sanctioned melodrama, super-sweeping plot lines, and e-waifu / e-husbando stuff.
  5. Faultline arc, parts 3 and 4. Not that the plot is bad or anything; I just hate seeing all the CamelCase being thrown around and abused.
  6. Can't go wrong with "healing" boolets from Dual Pistols.
  7. Super Strength has two screen-shaking PBAoEs, and I do believe Shield Defense and the Leaping pool have "impactful" teleport PBAoE attacks. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head.
  8. It's Kill Skuls: Private Server Edition.
  9. IIRC, the Super Packs cost 80 Paragon Points on the live servers. In actual cash terms, that's $1.
  10. Oh, hi! I was in a Penny Yin TF with you. I was the dude in the white suit.
  11. No. Last thing I want is to see this turned into yet another Skinner box only set on keeping people "engaged." Fuck that shit.
  12. I recognize some of these names.
  13. It's been ages since I've done one of these "theorycrafting" builds. If I'm screwing something up, feel free to yell at me. Anyway. My initial goal was to try and get as close to the ranged defense soft cap as I could, while still having enough recharge to go Pistols > DW > Pistols > Ex for my bread-and-butter string. Again, feel free to yell at me if there's something I can improve upon with this build. --- Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 1.962 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! 14. Hi. I had a slightly more elaborate post last time, but I'm too lazy to do something similar. Global handle on the old live serb was @Alkaiser. New global handle on the test serb is @Fatman. I played this fuck on the live servers. m8, I see your global handle and I get reminded of a certain hacker-turned-corp suit who sold some super-edgy (and super-stupid) ninja reject out to the feds. Not that he didn't deserve it, but still.
