The way our development and testing pipelines work; anything for the Spring Fling event (where something like this would mostly likely get added) has already been finalized for this year. The event will begin after server maintenance on Tuesday, February 4th. π

trolling Make Hamidon immune to being made intangible
Arcanum replied to Laucianna's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Hi everyone!π I'm working with the developers to sort out possible solutions to this, however, it will take some time. In the meantime, please be sure to report any player intentionally griefing directly to a GM so we can handle it appropriately. Keep in mind we do not share disciplinary actions taken with other players. π A hidden status does not impact the GM team's ability to view or investigate players. So they are unable to skirt policies due to this. Feel free to report any player suspected of violating our multi-boxing policies and/or griefing, and we will review.- 36 replies

Not going to be pulling more data for this year's post, but mentally noted to include some of these on next year's!

I don't touch powers personally because, quite frankly, it's consistently a "no-win" department. However, I'll take this back to our devs and make sure the feedback gets heard!! As some others have mentioned, it's certainly not the first time hearing it. The holidays still have the team a bit scrambled/busy, and we're getting a few other priority items finalized, which I'm sure you'll be hearing about... Until then, feel free to keep brainstorming and I'll have the team review it for possibilities!

Another round, and another find! We all knew (as a book) I had to hide out in the Steel Canyon Library at some point. Congrats for finding me Mecro-mancer! Only one more day of my giveaway! Hope everyone's enjoying it as much as I am! π
-
I took a step back in time to Cimerora on Torchbearer today, and was discovered by Eclipsa! No doubt cheated using a locator spell! π Can't wait to see whoever finds me, next!
-
Made a late night trip over to Indomitable, where naturally we had to hide out in a PvP zone. I thought I'd stump people tucked away behind some nuclear rockets, but @Nattuo managed to find me! Only a few days left! I hope to see you guys soon!
-
This is a bit late but made a stop on Reunion earlier today and was found by @Sir Mayhem! π See you all at the next round!
-
@Cipher and I made our way to Everlasting this evening! We were hiding out in a cave behind a waterfall, and we still were immediately discovered! Congrats to @isawa koi for getting to us first. Thanks everyone for continuing to indulge me in my game. π

In a twist of holiday irony, I visited Torchbearer again this afternoon. I was found by @Dragonplank while waiting on the "Here be Dragons" badge! Guess it was meant to be!
-
I made my way back to Excelsior this evening, and was found by @SaxyGuitar! Naturally given the holiday season, I was hiding by the Sweet Tooth badge in Cap au Diable. Thanks everyone who played this round. Hope to see you guys again at the next one!

HC needs to develop a policy on memorials.
Arcanum replied to Greycat's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Hi everyone! So while we were hoping that by re-opening this thread, the conversation would continue in a productive and fruitful manner, it seems at this point we're just circling the same points and onto our usual shenanigans, so I'm closing this thread. The TL;DR for those who missed it, is that Homecoming is not currently adding memorial characters to the game (see Cipher's post here for more information on that). While there have been many discussions today for solutions to put options in player hands, it will require time and effort from the devs to implement some of the ideas. We ask for your patience while we explore all of the conversations discussed (because yes, we do read what's being posted). Thanks to everyone who proactively contributed to the conversation to help towards a resolution! -
Dismissive, and Troll Encouraging Behavior
Arcanum replied to Kistulot's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Hi everyone! So it seems this conversation has run it's course - it is circling the same topics, unproductive, and quite frankly just being used as a board to disagree and complain about one another. So I'm locking it. Thanks to anyone who contributed in any productive manner. As always, both the City Council and Game Masters are reviewing all of these messages to see what should be taken away and absorbed. We appreciate everyone who maintains the spirit of the server in their interactions. -
HC needs to develop a policy on memorials.
Arcanum replied to Greycat's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
So just to keep the convo and ideas productive (because yes, we are reviewing the possibility of all the ideas being shared) - gonna quote Cipher from the other thread. Whatever possibility or solution gets decided (and again as Cipher said, it is unlikely to be immediate), it would involve putting the tributes/memorials into the player's hands. So permanent map fixtures and plaques (which have been discussed before) are unlikely outside of base elements that players can create. Although I'm sure as everyone knows, anything relating to bases is - shall we say, less than ideal given how that entire code system works. -
The Holiday Spirit is alive and well on Reunion! I was discovered by @Kwof shortly after presenting my clue!!

So since it's Arcanum's spellbinding giveaway - I did a double feature cause I thought, why not π Thanks for playing, Indomitable! Congrats @Bellenium for finding me!

That last one was actually at like 3AM EST - so technically it was on Sunday. However, we also just made an appearance on Excelsior. I'm sure to no-one's surprise, @Bloodom speedily found me. Thanks everyone for continuing to play! Keep an eye on the channels, you'll never know when/where I'll appear, next! π

Round two took place on Everlasting! Congrats to @Zandala for being the first to find me! You guys are all too clever, going to have to make the clues harder. (I apologize for the lightning, Night Ward - what are you gonna do). Stay tuned for more!

The first round has been played, and I was found within seconds on Torchbearer! π Get ready everyone, the next challenge(s) won't be so easy! Congrats @Itashu! Thanks everyone who raced there so quickly!

Hello everyone! π Another year of heroics (and villainy) is soon to come to an end. We thought to ourselves - what better way to celebrate then by giving away a bunch of prizes this holiday season! Starting on Saturday, December 14th and ending on Wednesday, December 25th - I will be randomly appearing on a shard (or shards) each day. This can happen on any shard, at any time, occasionally multiple times a day! I will drop a random clue to everyone on the shard as to my current location. The first person to find me will be granted some fun prizes - ranging from permanent special titles, Prismatic Aether, Winter Packs, and more! Happy Holidays! I look forward to seeing you all in-game!

So - I feel like this question has been essentially answered between all the comments, but just to give an 'official' post on here. The City Council is the administrative group that runs Homecoming. While everyone on the council has some specific roles/duties, we collectively oversee both the development team, Game Masters, and any other outlying aspects of the project. As Crumpet mentioned above, we have leadership setup to run the day to day process, but all of Homecoming's direction and policies is ultimately determined by the council (and yes, we play the game a lot π ). To shed further light - the Game Masters are our policy enforcers. They moderate our official channels (discord, forums, and in-game) as well as provide player support in-game for stuck missions, broken bases, and more! They're the true unsung heroes of the server that spend all of their time solving problems for players. They report to our Lead Game Masters who work closely with the City Council to determine moderation policies and keep the day to day functions of the game running smoothly. Last (but certainly not least) we have our Developers. These are the individuals who create new features and content for the game, who are overseen collectively by the City Council and select Lead Developers. There are a lot of faces behind the project that keep everything running smoothly - and everyone here is volunteering their time and getting nothing out of it besides the feeling of joy when making Paragon (and the Rogue Isles) a better place for everyone. So remember to be kind to them!!

We actually made some adjustments to the GMOTD today (mostly to just remove the shard XP Bonus that is no longer functioning). However, anytime it's updated, it'll automatically pop up when a character zones (or logins) after the update.

Hello everyone! As always with these posts, Iβd like to drop a quick reminder that there are more ways to support Homecoming than just through donations. For a general overview of the different ways you can help Homecoming, check out this thread. Homecoming operates in a non-profit capacity* and accepts donations from the community each month to cover its operating expenses. These donation windows typically open on the last Saturday of each month, around 13:00 EST, and are automatically closed once the goal for the month has been reached. Any funds remaining at the end of each month are put towards our expenses for the following month. In the event that our expenses exceed our estimated costs for the month, the difference will be included in the donation goal for the following month. If you wish to donate, you may do so here. The donation window for next month is open as of the time of this post and will automatically close once the goal is met. Thank you for your continued support! * Homecoming is a Delaware registered Limited Liability Company, not a non-profit organization, and donations made to Homecoming are not tax deductible. **A detailed account from last month's donations will be provided at a future date (following Hurricane Helene finishing her rampage). This Month: October 2024 The donation target for October 2024 is $5,096.31. Recurring Expenses Total: $5,096.31 Amount Service / βtoβ Addtβl Notes $4,836.37 Server Infrastructure (OVH) $229.57 Google Workspace Voice, Business (15 seats) $19.25 Email (AWS EC2 + SES) 2x EC2 micro instances $11.12 Admin Software Donations will be open at https://cohhc.gg/donate as of the time of this post and will automatically close once the goal has been met. As always, thank you for your continued support. - The Homecoming Team
