  1. Running a StJ/Rad Stalker right now and loving it. Presently level 43. Not exactly a cheap build, but stomping +3/×4 solo at the moment, so, survivability on teams is a non issue. I played a couple Stalkers back in live, and even at the defense soft cap I was often irritated by the 5% chance to get absolutely demolished — and when 16 enemies are launching AoE attacks around you, a 5% chance to be hit means you actually get hit quite a lot. I'm more of a fan now of starting with resists and regen/heals and building in defenses on top of that. Pure defense is too unreliable.
  2. Looks like a fix for this bug is being tested on the beta shard. Homecoming people, you seriously rock. A friend and I spent over 15 minutes testing this bug in various situations, all while being distracted by how COOL this ability is to use. The thought of its being fully functional in a future patch has me admittedly giddy with excitement.
  3. Yet this very same game appeals to someone like me who enjoys spending hours and hours in Mid's/Pine's planning and tweaking almost as much as he does playing the game. This game is a rare breed. It has something for nearly everybody. Spreadsheet gamers AND sane people alike.
  4. As a workaround until the Homecoming team announces whether this is intended behavior... Just copy the contents of your "homecoming" folder into the "beta-hc" folder and restart Tequila. It should only take a minute or two at that point to patch the minor differences between the live and beta builds.

    Ice/Ice?

    Too cold, man, too cold.
  6. The Alpha slot ability is treated as a global enhancement applied to every power capable of benefiting from its effects. It's not a set bonus or traditional buff. That's why part of its enhancement value is subject to diminishing returns from ED. So anything your Alpha affects that could be slotted as an enhancement in a pet affects that pet. Also, the Interface ability is like a super proc IO that's effectively slotted in every compatible power. It does grant its proc effects to all of your pets.
  7. When used from at or near its maximum range, the pinnacle power of the Savage Assault set for Dominators, Feral Charge, does not properly register a hit. The teleport component activates, and the player character appears in melee range of the target, but no damage is dealt. The combat log displays that the attack was successful as an auto-hit, but no damage event is displayed (and no damage is inflicted on the target). Normally, the ability appears to check for a hit, and is able to legitimately miss, but from maximum range it is an auto-hit power that teleports and does not trigger an attack. This bug can be easily reproduced by attacking any opponent with Feral Charge from maximum range. It does not seem to matter if the player and/or target is moving or standing still. It does not appear to make a difference if the player is stealthed or already in combat with the target. Slotting the power with range enhancements does not alter the behavior of this bug. The power also seems to have an AoE component when it does trigger correctly (i.e. when used from less than maximum range). The attack is listed as single-target in both its description and its detailed power info.
  8. Are you using Stealth (Concealment) or a stealth IO?
  9. That's a very interesting Dominator build. 😁

  11. I played a butt ton of masterminds on Liberty in the Armies of Evil villain group. Also had an electric/ninjitsu stalker, a crab soldier, a widow, and a couple brutes. And one illusion/kinetic controller hero. Damn I missed this game.
  12. I have two locked out in eternal "logging out" status as well. For the time being, it may be best to think of time spent in-game as a brief blessing rather than something to set aside an afternoon for. Can't be entirely sure when you'll be able to log in or how long you'll be there. I think my best record now is an hour. Beggars can't be choosers. Though if the day comes that NCSoft grants their blessing for the Homecoming/SCORE team to take subscriptions, I'll be lining up to throw my money at them for stable commercial servers. :)
  13. I can only imagine the potential data corruption issues attempting to bounce character data around among highly congested, laggy shards. They're trying to get things running more smoothly under load before adding these kinds of bells and whistles. And wasn't that a paid service when NCSoft did it? The Homecoming team can't even accept donations to cover server/bandwidth costs, so they won't be charging for transfers. And without that cost to consider, just imagine if the 50,000 players already fighting over access to the congested servers also began submitting thousands upon thousands of transfer requests...
  14. The second one was just added. The admins are doing all of this on their own dime (can't risk perceived profit-seeking by accepting donations either) and burning through easily $200/day right now with what they already have. So no, probably not. The response to the fan-driven revival of City of Heroes has been overwhelmingly positive, and this is ... the first weekend the server has been running. Lag, stability issues, etc. are probably going to the be norm until the weekend is over.
  15. They're back up now, but I don't suggest we all try to log in at once, unless we want them to crash again. Happy heroing (and villaining) all! [Edit: Spoke too soon. Torchbearer is down again. Feeling major sympathy for the admins, running overtaxed servers and dealing with frequent issues ... all while not getting paid and in fact paying for the servers and bandwidth themselves.]
  16. Go to Location immediately. Useful for corner pulls, where a defensive stance will let your minions get distracted too easily. /macro GoTo petcom_all goto passive Dance! /macro Dnc petsay_all <em dance>
  17. Intel laptops with an NVidia card are typically configured to run many non-GPU-intensive programs on the integrated chip to reduce heat and save power. The majority of modern PC games can detect your dedicated card regardless and will use it automatically. CoH isn't a "modern" PC game anymore. Run the NVidia Control Panel app and create a custom profile for the City of Heroes executable, then change the settings from there to force it to use your dedicated graphics card.
