  1. Hi all, Looking to get some eyes on this somewhat unicorn combination. It's intended as an end game, primarily ranged, high recharge, hover build. I've tried to rearrange my mind/fire accordingly to come up with the below. My only real concern is my incarnates and the final power pool selection. I'm currently sitting with Presence as it's thematically a good inclusion however I've no experience with the powers there in especially Unrelenting. Other thoughts have been Concealment for the mass placate (any good??) and final LotG mule, Sorcery for RoP, Experimentation and Force of Will. I'm pretty cruisey on suggestions re the above, on top of any slotting improvements anyone might have :) Cheers in advance. Py.     I'm liking it a lot...it tickles my scrapper style gameplay as I already have a pure ranged permadom. Apart from /Earth Assault, IMO /Energy is the primo melee set...or at least it aesthetically feels so (i don't like blocks of dirt on my hands...I prefer pom poms!). I don't worry too much about the KB of the ranged attacks...they're only ST and thus nowhere near as annoying on teams...especially if you're the one who chases said KB'd enemy down just to smash their face more. Like many above have discussed, Artic Air is a must have which only bolsters the melee style gameplay, slowing enemies ability to run away from you is also quite hilarious and though the CP proc isn't what it once was...it's still very serviceable. In all I would recommend this combo if you like being in the face of your enemy πŸ™‚ and if you colour /Energy like Ice it kinda feels you're smashing people with icy fists and shooting water but YMMV!

    Cheers for that! I'll have a thorough look when I'm home (I'm a shift worker). Also thank you @oedipus_tex and @Toxis for your inputs and builds! Peoples takes on the sets are quite unique and that's what I love about this game πŸ™‚ One thought has come to mind during all this...and that is how set defining is Artic Air? Is it truly necessary? has anyone built an Ice/ troller or dom without it? I mean without it you could make a purely ranged build no? either use /Energy or /Fire...but then I guess the argument would be if that's the case then why not simply use Mind/. Without AA Ice/ looks similar to Earth/ just minus the versatility ie Quicksand and the AOE hold is ranged compared to PBAOE. I don't know I'm just spitballing and or/tired after work lol.

    You make a solid point...don’t know why I didn’t think of /Psi. I don’t like to be reliable on my destiny but it’s always a welcomed boost to a build. Hmm might have to tinker with a /Psi build now to compare cheers Kira πŸ˜›

    Cheers for your thoughts and tweaks mate! I was starting to think that the ratio of views to replies was an indication that this combo was not worth it πŸ˜›. I'm aware that Ice/ needs some love but I'll definitely give it the old college try. Ice Storm I like simply to add an AOE in there as /Energy severely lacks that sort of attack *shrugs*. It's up every 30 seconds so hopefully will get some mileage at least while soloing. However I do see the reasoning behind Hoarfrost. The proc'd out hold I was unsure of as I've never tried it before. You make a good point though as /Energy has quite a nice ST rotation as is on top of the better chance to proc the Ascendency piece.

  12. Hi all, just wanted a quick poll as to which you would roll on the fire/ice combo either for scrappers or stalkers. Also if anyone has experience playing that combo on either of those ATs I’d love to hear from you. my take is that defensively they’re identical numbers wise . Stalkers miss only icicles in favour of hide and offensively have assassin’s blaze in place of incinerate. Scrappers might hit harder from the get go with higher base damage but is that really noticeable nowadays with the changes to AS? keen to hear your thoughts and votes. Py

    HoB is bugged still? oh the under performing damage? think i read about that in this forum. Well that's fair enough i guess, you can't really see how the build performs when you're opening salvo on every mob is neutered. Also agree with Lockpick about Ranged Def...this build needs to be in the mix every time to shine. However having said that, it IS useful against an alpha of ranged attacks from mobs just outside the melee threshold. Or if you or your group pull multiple mobs with exotic typed damage. @LockpickHow goes the leveling?

    Wow I didn't think you guys would throw builds straight up! Seems like this combo IS a unicorn after all! πŸ˜„ Both look great imo. My only suggestion would be improving the global recharge but you would obviously sacrifice defense in doing so...question is...is it worth it? and if so...what defense type could you afford lowering? I mean close to perma Soul Drain would be the bees knees. Once i'm back at home i can tinker. Any thought's on the Flame Epic for Bonfire and Fire Shield? that could sway having a slight drop in Def because of the added mitigation. No i haven't unfortunately (at least not Dark Manipulation anyway) but like you i had a mild concept in mind and thought i'd ask the community whether or not this is actually a thing πŸ™‚

    Has anyone tried this combo? I’m curious to see if anyone has any info/experience regarding it. At a glance these 2 sets want to be up close and personal, so the synergies seem great for a melee blaster style gameplay. So is this combo a unicorn or simply not discussed? Is it terrible maybe?   16. What did you end up changing from your previously posted build? As i'm using that as a starting point, have been tinkering for a day or so.
  17. Just as a quick side, Corruptor or Defender? as this thread has got the old juices flowing... The 30% bonus to damage while being a solo Defender seem appealing, so too does the scourge mechanic with all of Water's wonderful AoE's...decisions decisions.

    Ice/Rad Help

    So this is just preliminary/minor changes from the advice above! (and to see if i'm the right track) Appreciate you guys πŸ˜„ I still need to trim the fat on some slots to make moonbeam an actual worthwhile attack, but i'm currently sitting at 51% Def (with the maneuvers/ice patch swap). Again, just prelim. Thinking about it i could probably swamp out shadow meld if necessary for ice patch because i wouldn't lose any slots. Can't think of anything else to loose other than maneuvers (provided my slotting is smarter to reach softcap s/l def. Defensive slotting seems to be fine though? i figured i would replicate similar slotting to /Invul and it's probably the closest comparison slotting wise.     Hi Stalker brethren, After finishing and tricking out a concept build BS/Regen Stalker a few months ago (much to my glee at the end result), it's now time for another Stalker! I've decided on Ice/Rad. Was a difficult choice because /Ice looks great as well but once again concept trumps potential logic πŸ˜› . Any who, going through these forums there's really only 1 short thread related to the combo so if anything i hope this will ignite people's passion for odd/rare combinations. In short what i'm looking for is some advice in slotting and potentially power picks as the last 10 levels i've struggled to pick things that weren't mule powers.
